What a gem we stumbled on here! We had the sample platter for a starter, shrimp, fried tomatoes and lemon pepper wings. Simply amazing! 2 of us had the corn crab chowder which we agreed is one of the best soups we've ever had! For meals we had the Sammy Davis chicken (5*) the Sunrise burger (5*) and the fried ribs( was a 2nd choice as they were out of the snapper. To me, I rate a restaurant on how I feel when leaving, was not worth the money ? Would I come back? We absolutely will, may even do it tomorrow before we fly home as there are so many other meals I'd love to try. As a bonus, the chef came out to greet us and we couldn't compliment her enough. I've eaten a LOT of steaks and enjoyed plenty of good steak nights around the New Orleans area but the ribeye here is by far one of the best I've had anywhere. The service at the bar and at the tables is quick, friendly and overall just a great experience. This is some of the best bar food I've had anywhere and just one of the best options for a great steak and burger at a great price anywhere. I love the location over the water! Once I got in there was no waiter present, so I seated myself. There were only 3 active tables with guest with ONE waiter. After 15 mins she came and got my order and brought me some water. Well once I got my food 30 mins later, my appetizer was cold, complete cold! I only have maybe an half hour before I get back to work so I just kept the dish. The batter on the tomatoes were very bland! Like it didn't taste like anything. The shrimp were very dry as well. Once I got my grilled shrimp plate, I thought I was in for a treat but .... I was wrong! The plate was extremely hot so I'm preeeeettttyy sure they nuked the dish before bringing it to me because my food was like warm. The BEST thing I had out of my 2 dishes were the Hushpuppies, if they would season their batter like the hushpuppies this place would be jumping!!!!
