Absolutely amazing! I came across this food truck at the Montgomery County Fair. I had trouble choosing a flavor, so the owner asked me what kind of flavors I usually go for. I told him fruity and he said he would make me a surprise flavor that I would love. And he absolutely delivered with a really great fruit combo. Overall, super great tasting shaved iced and a wonderful owner.

We saw the snowball truck at a friend's party and had a wonderful experience so we decided to follow suit. Garland was just wonderful to work with - from scheduling to the event itself - professional and so nice! He came for our daughter's birthday party and arrived early to set up. The kids and adults alike enjoyed the party and couldn't get enough of the snowballs. If you're from New Orleans, this is the absolute real deal! Garland is from New Orleans, and we are so grateful he brought this little taste of home to the DMV! If you're not from New Orleans, you're in for a novel treat! This is the second time that New Orleans Style Snow Balls have come to our building. They were here a couple of years ago. At the time, they brought a truck and would give out cups with ice, and you got to add the syrup you wanted. There was a dispenser on the outside of the truck that made it easier to choose what you wanted and how much. This time, they sent a small van, and the "snow balls" were put in the kind of takeout containers that restaurants use to pack rice. In other words, they were small. The young woman serving the "snow balls" was very friendly. She was also the one who applied the syrup to the ice. We both got cherry-flavored syrup. These snow balls are very refreshing, especially in the summer. While we would have preferred a larger cup, we couldn't complain, as this was a freebie for residents (well, these things are built into one's monthly rent). read more

I had never had one of these before... It was AMAZING! A generous portion, the flavor was so good amd it was a great reprieve to a hot, summer day! I highly recommend you try one. The only thong I would recommend is that you have a straw handy, if you can't finish the portion within a specific time before it starts to melt. It was good feom beginning... to end! read more

I hired this truck for my daughter's graduation party, and the guests are still texting me about how great the snow balls were. If you're considering an ice cream truck, get snow balls instead; they're refreshing and sweet, but much lighter if you're going to be out in the heat. The proprietor of this business is a friendly veteran who chatted with our guests while also keeping the line moving with his fast service. He let us pick several flavors in advance to ensure my daughter's favorites would be there, but he also had a bunch of other flavors available. We have hired NOLA Style Snow Balls multiple times for our LSS/LCC (LSU, Tulane, Loyola, University of New Orleans, UL Lafayette, UL Monroe, Louisiana Tech, Northwestern State) Crawfish Boil, the largest crawfish boil east of Louisiana w/ over 10,000 lbs of bugs. What a great treat! The portions were generous and the pricing was fair. The gentleman working there let my daughter pick all of the flavors she wanted and then told her to try it and see if she liked it. It turns out she didn't (the chocolate threw the taste all off) so insisted on making her a new one. Amazing customer service! read more

These snoballs are great but what's better is the owner! He has done multiple events for me now (all with short notice) and the kids are always super happy. He has great customer service and is reasonably priced. He even has "clear choices" (not sire if that's the proper term for it) for kids on the autism spectrum. Seriously, hire this company for your next summer event. He'll come to your school, church, office ON TIME and deliver exceptional service. read more

My mom and I had a great time getting snowballs. The owner was kind enough to surprise me with a flavor when I couldn't decide. I had strawberry and lime and got it topped with condensed milk. I highly recommend this Snow Ball truck/business to everyone! I have used them multiple times at my school as a treat for my teachers and they have been amazing every time!! My teachers get so excited when they find out that he is coming. I have made it mandatory to have him down for at least one event at my school per year as well as recommending him to other schools in the county. The best flavors for shaved ice, very flavorful treat for the summer! They do not taste water downed as some other places do. Garland the owner has excellent customer service! He loves his customers. I've been a loyal customer for quite some time...I truly wish he can expand to all the big parks in Orlando. He will do events too! This place is a hidden gem in the DMV. You can not find a better summer treat than New Orleans Snow Balls. I will admit that I've even tried to visit this venue when it was raining outside. I am constantly being asked by my family to stop by and get snowballs for everyone on the way home. The prices are more than reasonable and the taste is unmatched. Best snow balls ever! The flavors were all amazing and we tried several different combinations. The one called "ice cream" tasted just like vanilla ice cream and was good paired with basically any other flavor offered. Would definitely purchase again.
