Such a fun and yummy dessert food truck! The owner is so nice and knows how to color up a Sno-cone!

I sent out a Yelp plea and every response was the same: You have to cross the border to Murrland to get what you want. Even though the border is less than 45 minutes away, driving cross-state seemed pretty daunting so I pretty much gave up my search and filled the hole in my heart with other icy treats more readily available in NoVa such as bing soo or halo halo. One unsuspecting day, I attended the Fairfax Fall Festival and was pleased to see the logo of a little bird taunting me to try some Taiwanese shaved ice. Could it be?! YES SIR! I rushed over to the stand, leaving my sister, her baby, and my little brothers behind in my dust to get some sweet, cold icy refreshment in my belly. $5 got me a small bowl of freshly shaved ice topped with condensed milk, fresh fruit and homemade lemon jelly. My little brothers eventually caught up with me to ask me to purchase them some bubble tea as well. The result? Refreshingly good! But I could not help but feel a little bit cheated since at Bob's Noodle you can get a small mountain of shaved ice to feed six people for the same price and my shaved ice bowl was barely enough to satisfy my hunger craving. However, they totally saved me a trip to Maryland so maybe the price was worth it. You can check out Bing Bing in the warmer months every every Saturday and Sunday at the Fairfax Community Farmer's Market and on Wednesdays at the Clarendon Metro Stop.

They have a self-serve water station with cups, bowls, and other utensils for you to freely grab. I also love how much seating there is inside. Perfect place to yap away with friends :)) The food does not disappoint. It's very homey and just consistent, which I love. The staff here are so sweet and kind. I wanted to order a porridge and a bingsoo at the same time, but she told me I shouldn't and that she'd have the bingsoo ready for when we finished the warm porridge. I'm so glad I listened because it would've been weird eating hot, steamy porridge and an iced dessert at the same time, especially with the dessert melting. Right when we finished our porridge, I walked over to ask her to prep the bingsoo, but she already had it finished because she noticed we were done eating. So attentive!!! Also, if you're allergic to sesame seeds, I'd advise telling them beforehand. Most of these dishes involve a sprinkle of sesame seeds on top. My friend is allergic and we forgot to tell them, so we tried to spoon them out, but it's hard to get everything.

When we were told that it'd take 15 minutes to wait for the correct dish, we declined. We wanted to eat together. There wasn't an offer to refund it. It would've been fine if the wrong one tasted great. Unfortunately, it wasn't. It was weirdly full of iceberg lettuce. I'm taking away one star for the error. We tried the Matcha Bingsoo for dessert this time. It was pretty good. I'll include the photos of the meals. 3/10/26 I can't believe my family and I hadn't eaten here until now. The entrees were delicious. And, the rice cakes for desserts! The name of the restaurant, "juk," made me think they only make porridge. We're definitely returning.

Fortunately, there is a Wells Fargo two minutes down the road so I didn't have to give up on my dreams of a cold fresh snow cone. Seems like they are back for their spring season!!! I can't wait to go back and I will bring the family :) Very affordable $4 a snow cone with up to 3 flavors to mix. I opted for the coconut, tamarindo, and pineapple. I also got the condensed milk on top (which I heard was a MUST and it absolutely was worth every drop) and I also added the sour tamarindo jalea on top. I wouldn't recommend them both together but separately they are both scrumptious. The tamarindo is sour! So be prepared if you like tart or sour this is for you!! My boyfriend opted for the strawberry, coconut, and passion fruit. It's true that they make their own flavors I witnessed it! There are pieces of legit fruit in them!! So delicious and unlike a classic snow cone. Each is prepared diligently with a tried and true process to get the right shape and packing of the snow particles properly. Service was very friendly and helpful and Quick! One size only and it was gone pretty quick so delicious!!! Worth it and allll the hype. We will return this weekend :)

We have so-called shave ice here in Boston but it's not like Ono Wai's. These are served with ice cream at the bottom - YUM- and a drizzle of sweet cream on top! It's like 2 desserts in one because by the time you get to the bottom, the flavored ice made the ice cream frosty and sweet - like a creamsicle- but better! The hardest part of ordering this little cup of heaven is choosing the flavors - they have 25 - and apparently they are imported from Hawaii. Thankfully, my family ordered different flavors so I was able to try a variety. They were all rich and flavorful. I'll be back Ono Wai - I'll be back!

Soricha really surprised me with the quality! You can tell they're passionate about their craft, as every item feels thoughtfully prepared. I also loved the cute shelf featuring their personal collection of teacups, which added a nice touch to the space. They also had cute art around. The bingsu is definitely shareable, both of the bingsuus we got were rich in flavor and came with generous toppings. The sparkling coffee, however, wasn't quite as sparkly as I expected The injeolmi latte was a little disappointing because it doesn't come with espresso, which I didn't realize when ordering. I ended up paying an additional $2.20 for espresso. That said, I would recommend adding it because it really helped round out the drink. The server was quick to bring it out after I asked about the lack of coffee. My biggest hesitation is the price. The iced latte came out to around $12 after tax and tip, so I'll probably only come back occasionally. Still, the unique flavor combinations and overall quality might be enough to bring me back for another treat.
