I looked up their hours on their website to verify they would be open and took a streetcar from the Quarter to see them at 1:00 PM Monday. My old wristwatch needs a minor repair. A man met me in front of the door snd said the watchmaker was out but might be back tomorrow. The moral is this: call first, before you go there. Well, I certainly won't be the first to break NO Watchmakers' 5 Star streak! And it truly is well-deserved. I came in with several watches with dead batteries and a watch where all the numerals had inexplicably come off and were floating freely around the watch face. The owner took a quick look and told me he could certainly solve my problems. He asked if I lived or worked in the area (I don't), and upon hearing I spend most of my time on the other side of town, he said he'd have everything ready for me in less than an hour to save me another trip downtown! I was blown away by his consideration. He did not disappoint, my watches were good as new in less than an hour as promised! I'm now a truly devoted, loyal customer. The only slight issue is the limited selection of new leather watch bands available for purchase. It'd be ideal if he had a more extensive selection for patrons, but that's admittedly not quite in his wheelhouse as a clock and watch maker. But maybe that'd be a direction for expansion in the future! Regardless, will definitely be back. read more

I have a Rolex flooded with diamonds and when I went to Adler's to to get my watch serviced they told me $2,400 and when my friend introduced me to NewOrleans watchmakers I was a little reluctant because the store in smaller and they price for the same service was $550. I needed a new stem for $250 but today my watch works flawlessly and I will not be going to Adler's. I would highly recommend New Orleans watchmakers for all your watch repairs needs. read more

Yelp has him listed on Carondelet now, but that's not where I found his humble space a few months ago. He was on the ninth floor of a nameless office building on O'Keefe and Common. I nearly gave up finding it, walking twice around the block, then meandering the labyrinth building until I found the lobby and a directory. Best to call and be assured of his location. if he's still at this building, the lobby entrance is on Common. He installed a new battery on a pocket watch in two minutes and examined an additional watch I'd brought in. He assured me, "I am honest, so I will tell you that this watch may fix itself." It's got a solar cell and a battery that lasts a lifetime, but had been malfunctioning after a long stay in the dark and also needed a link removed. If there was something wrong with it, he'd have to order the part and it could cost $80 or more. But it may not be broken, just need a few more hours for the battery to replenish. I decided to hold off, and the watch has indeed fixed itself. Truly, a less scrupulous person would've insisted I repair it. He popped out the link I needed removed, and I think I paid $12 for everything, in and out in less than ten minutes. There was a yellowed Times Picayune article about him on the wall, a small selection of watches for sale, an array of tools on his worn workspace, and several cabinets of watch parts. I think he said he'd been there twenty seven years. If I need another watch repair, I'll hunt him down and would recommend him to anyone in need of watch maintenance. read more

I needed a battery replacement, which he did in 2 minutes, and then (not thinking it was something that could be done easily) I asked if he could fix a piece that had become dislodged on the dial of my watch. And he took it apart AGAIN and glued the piece with perfect precision. In and out in 10 minutes!! I brought in a 40+ year old Bulova Accutron Space-View, which is a hard watch to get repaired. Most places won't touch them. He told me he wasn't sure the watch was worth the cost of repairing, but I thought his price was reasonable and asked him to fix it. The watch is running great and has a six-month warranty. Professional and efficient. Allowed me to watch him take my watch apart and put it back together. Very pleasant family man. My watch face was rotated about 90 degrees as the rods that held up he clock face broke. I think he fixed by using a fixative and readjusted the face. Very delicate with my watch that my parents got for me when I went to college. He asked to change my battery as well and I decided to save a trip and just swap it out now. Fixed for 35$ (25 to fix, 10 to replace batteries on a standard normal Swiss military watch). Also has watch bands and batteries. Also had a nice chat with him. I've been procrastinating for the longest time about getting my battery replaced for my Seiko. So I started wearing my time-less time piece to work to publicly shame myself into taking care of it (shame is a great motivator among my people). I had less than half an hour between jobs and according to the previous post, this place was true to its name. And it was. All told, I spent more time fumbling for my wallet and paying for a parking meter than he did to replace the battery. No more than 3 minutes tops. Like clockwork. He gives a one year automatic guarantee on the battery (2 years is how long the battery should last for this watch, says he). And it's ok if I lose my receipt (which I did the second I left), he's marked the battery so he knows it's his work and such. Which I just think is cool. Oh yeah, $11 to buy the battery, change the battery, set the calendar (magic), and implant a secret message to future him, is a great deal. Go get your watches fixed. read more

Erick did a fabulous job. It was a quick turnaround time and the fix was what I expected it to be for a price that I also expected it to be. I'm not a watchmaker but I know enough about watches and I can do some small repairs that I understood the possible problem but just don't have the tools and intimate knowledge how to fix them. I got the watch back today and it functions as it should and I will monitor it over the next few days to double check. Having said that, I don't have any concerns about the repair right now. It's not a criticism but my only concern was that I sent the watch in a hard case with the watch wrapped in saran wrap and then inside of a Postal Service flat rate small box. The watch was sent back inside the hard case but it was not in saran wrap and he used the original box that was held together with scotch tape. Why does it matter if it was not wrapped in saran wrap? The vibrations from shipping can put small scratches on the crystal or on the case. It did not happen in this incident but as a professional I was hoping for that extra step but it is not a dealbreaker. My biggest concern was that he put that hard case back inside the original Postal Service flat rate small box that I sent it to him in and only secured it with tracking label sticker and some scotch tape. By the time it got to me I was in rough shape. overall I'm extremely pleased with the work provided so far but I think a few minutes of extra attention would have sealed the deal. Will I do business with Erick again? Absolutely! at the end of the day I just want my watch fixed but Tony customer service touches go along way. Before hand I called about a gasket replacement he told me it would be roughly $10 over phone. I get there he says he doesn't have the gasket he needs to order it and its gonna be 21.27 up front. Then he says I will call you when it comes in which was two months ago "No call yet". I go there today at 11 the store's locked I call the store no answer and to top it off my watch hasn't been working properly since he touched it the first time. I had been told that the Concord could not be guaranteed (by a nice jewelry store) because the gold screw in the back was stripped, Eric took the watch and said no problem I will make a screw and that he did.
