In a short time, it has become the Coffee Shop in Vinton to go in the morning to enjoy a good gourmet coffee or tea, together with a breakfast sandwich, a bagel with cream cheese made in the house, or a sweet pastry. When I arrived to have breakfast, the place was almost full with people of all ages. In one corner two businessmen elegantly dressed in business suits with laptops were seated in one table with what seemed like talking business, a couple had just arrived and sat in another table drinking their coffee and socializing, two other men dressed more informal also with a laptop at another table discussing something, two young ladies seated at a counter with comfortable high chairs socializing, a husband and wife seated next to the Christmas tree enjoying some quality time together, and the manager of the place seated at a small table doing some work his computer. This not counting all those who came in to pickup takeout orders to go. One could tell that the community was taking full advantage of this beautiful and clean place with contemporary decor, large windows, and high ceilings. It also had a Community Bulletin Board on one wall near the wall for customers to post information on events happening as well as business cards of their businesses or services provided. When I arrived I was warmly greeted by a young lady employee behind the counter who was very knowledgeable about the menu of the Coffee Shop and explained to me the breakfast sandwiches that they had and took my order for one of them in a plain bagel and a large Mocha Latte Coffee. As soon as the order was ready she brought the items to the table where I was seated with a friendly smile, providing exceptional customer service. The coffee tasted absolutely Devine and was nice and hot; and the breakfast sandwich had a fresh plain bagel that was toasted to perfection, crunchy in the outside and soft in the inside, filled with fresh ingredients that together tasted amazingly delicious. Without a question, I would highly recommend this Coffee Shop to all reading my review and looking at my photographs accompanying it. This is definitely a relaxing place to go to socialize and spend quality time with family and friends, to do some work or have a meeting with work associates, or even for entrepreneurs to brainstorm ideas to start a business in the future or to make their current business grow. This definitely is a vibrant place where things are happening and the Town of Vinton and its community is clearly benefiting from it.

They also offer pastries from a downtown bakery, though their online inventory said they were out of most of them when I checked, whereas in store it looked like they had some. Coffee here is fine and the respectable number of choices available. One thing I must say is that if you are going to have "lab" in your name, there should be taste testing events to try out new coffee, food, and/or new concoctions to consider selling maybe as a special to start and if it does well make it a more regular item. The hours are great here for a coffee venue which really fits in well for a diverse community with a university nearby. I don't know too many classy coffee places open until 11 PM honestly, Erg recently, one of the coffee places nearish me had special hours to open until 1 AM but that is not on the regular. Some coffee places near me aren't open late enough and I think there is understandable concern with worker fatigue and safety. Staff here is friendly. After having been selected as number 4 of Yelp's Top 50 most prolific Elites of 2025, a year when I also was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Photographer of the Year Award at their Yelpies 2025 Award Ceremony, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, and where last year I was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Yelper of the Year Award, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and businesses, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Asher's Coffee (Roastery & Café) in Southwest Roanoke, is a perfect example. Yesterday, I was fortunately enough to be invited to attend this new Coffee Shop's Soft Opening and was very impressed with its gorgeous decor, and with the owner's unique and creative ideas of which some have already been implemented in its Coffee, Tea, and Food menus, and others will be added soon. Asher's Coffee, a small-batch artisan coffee roaster was founded in 2020 by former sports nutrition chef and current owner, Jacob Asher Galbraith. Its name honors his hardworking grandfather. At first they sold their variety of coffees at different farmers markets and online. Then on a downtown location on 5th Street. And now they have moved to this location, where they will be able to sell espresso drinks and food, in addition to pour overs and cold brew showcasing their small-batch roasted When I arrived in my pearl white Lexus I parked across the street in an off-street parking space where one could park for 2 hrs free and then walked towards the corner where the coffee shop is located. Their building front had a black and while striped canopy with a colorful vinyl sign of the business hanging from it, as well as another one on the window of the door. Inside. The large windows all around brought in the light. The walls were painted light blue and the original hardwood floors had a beautiful shine to them. The ordering counter had a cute industrial look. And for seating it had It had2 a low table with four chairs and two high tables with stools. There was also a comfortable sofa that just needed a coffee table so customers could put their food and drinks there while they sat comfortably in the sofa to enjoy their food and drinks. The owner was taking care of another two customers when I arrived, so as soon as he finished with them he and his wife gave me a warm greeting and welcome, a short tour of the place and reviewed the menu with me. They had all kinds of bags of coffee for sale, as well as t-shirts and caps with the name of the store, and even a rack with earing for sale. Then he took my order. I ordered a Hot Mocha Breve Coffee to drink which was made with dark chocolate and their signature sandwich, a Waffledilla, have with my coffee. It was basically a quesadilla made in a waffle maker, with the cheese on the outside, so it gets crusty, then he used that cheese-encrusted tortilla to make a wrap, which almost looked like a giant taco or quesadilla. Their signature Waffledilla he made me had a Mexi-cali-inspired filling of roasted turkey and a homemade avocado mash. It also was supposed to have a thick-cut bacon, but they still hadn't received the shipment with it so I told them I didn't mind. It seems like my Waffledilla was the first they've made since they opened this new Coffee Shop, so after I took some photographs of it, the owner also took some photos as well. And both the texture and the favor were amazing. For dessert I had a Greek Cookie called Koulourakia and a Greek Baklava which was one of the best I've ever had. Since the wife of the owner is Greek I was able to practice some of the few Greek.words I know like Good afternoon "Kalispera," with her. They also plan to serve Belgian-style Liege waffles and pastries baked in house as well as by a rotating roster of local bakers. I also purchased a bag of their house blend coffee It Takes a Villege to take home with me. While I was there many customers stopped by to try their coffee there and a few to purchase bags of coffee to go. From the excitement of all the new customers who visited the place on this Soft Opening I anticipate that this Coffee Shop will be a total success. This very unique establishment located in the Food Court of the Valley View Mall in a location behind a large window counter near the Barnes and Nobles Bookstore and Food Court tables and chairs, is one of the businesses in the Mall that is continously full with people of all ages: families, friends, and others, wanting to enjoy some quality time together, enjoying a special treat and drink. When I arrived at the place I examined the menu located above the wall in bright menu displays. A young lady employee greeted me with a smile and took my order. I ordered an Iced Thai Bubble Tea with Boba and some Ohio Crepes with Peanut Butter, Nutella, Banana, and Crushed Cookies. Both items were very fresh and delicious. As I enjoyed eating and savoring the Crepes at one of the tables in the Food Court area of the Mall, I observed many other people passing by this business and ordering especially Smoothies and Specialty Drinks.
