If only zero stars were possible...If these crooks come to your door trying to sell you satellite TV service slam the door. They charge 6.99 per month for satellite protection that I did not authorize. When I called them and asked them to listen to the recording and send me a copy of the recording where I had authorized this charge they put me on hold while they listened to the recording and then came on the line to tell me that EVERYONE in that department was on vacation??? Seriously? I know for a fact that I declined the protection and I am quite certain that is what they heard when they reviewed the recording which is why everyone had to go on vacation real quick like...I called my bank to dispute the charge, cancelled my card, and had them send me a new card. read more

If a Direct TV salesperson knocks on your door make certain they are not authorized reseller New Star Communications! I am an AT&T employee and after asking several times they never once told me they were not officially Direct TV employees. I asked them out right if they were AT&T/Direct TV employees and they said "yes" with a straight face because they lie. Their install was totally unacceptable. They ran coax across the opening of my attic that just dangles there when I open the hatch door. I called to have them fix this and they never came out. They also add billing features like a $6.99 a month protection plan that was never explained to me. Stay away from authorized resellers, especially New Star Communications! read more

The salesperson was very personable and seemed knowledgeable. Installation service was very professional and courteous. However, my rating is very low because I was told I could bundle my billing with my At&T cell phone service & receive an additional monthly discount as well as receive HBO for no additional fee. I guess he assumed I had the full unlimited data plan which is the only way that occurs. Once I inquired about keeping HBO after the 3 mo. promotional period I was informed that to continue that service will be another $17.99/mo (Dish was only an additional $10/month). I was informed by the salesperson that the monthly fee would only increase an additional $25-$30/month after the 1 yr. promotional period. With all of the above misinformation from the salesman, I am very leary of that information as well. Should have stayed with Dish. read more

8 On November 22, 2017 I switched from Dish Network to Direct TV with a guaranteed plan for 12 months. We were told we would have the exact same channels for a lot less monthly cost. After the installation, which went fine, we discovered we were missing a channel (one of the outdoor channels) so I called into Direct TV. The lady on the phone explained to me that if I upgraded from the "ultimate" package to the "premier" package I would have my missing channel and would also include all the movie channels (currently 3 months free with the ultimate package) at even a lesser rate than I was currently under contract with, so I agreed to upgrade. Nothing was ever mentioned from the Direct TV customer rep that this was going to void my contract. So on my March billing by apparent 3 month trial was up and my locked in bill went up almost $60.00. Being extremely unhappy - I again called directly into Direct TV. The customer rep I talked with basically told me I had voided my contract and that my bill was now what it was. After being on the phone with him for about 30 minutes I finally told him we were done and I was going to contact the person directly that had come to my home and installed the Direct TV setup. I sent a text message to "New Star Communications" and explained my issue and to get back to me asap. He called me back in less than 5 minutes. We talked about the issue and he told me he would have someone from the office reach out to me momentarily, just as soon as he could explain to them what was going on. Again, within about 10 minutes I received a call from their office. The gal from New Star Communications then got Direct TV on the phone and we worked out the issue as good as can be at this point. I don't understand why it's going to cost $14/month just to get one station - but it is apparently bundled within their Sports package. Sadly, we don't watch football, basketball, etc. so the additional stations are of no value or advantage to us. Bottom line - I am very appreciative that New Star Communication did call me back on a Saturday immediately and did their very best to correct my situation as best as they could. Wow. Never have I ever had such horrible experiences with this company's sale representatives! I should have looked online here before I even tried installing this stupid equipment. Would he point out that there are only 3 days to be able to cancel with a refund on the piece of paper he told us was our contract as well as our sales order form? Noo. Now when I wanted to cancel the fee is $460???!!?!?! When the technician arrived and had us sign an electronic line, saying it's in order for them to install the equipment, they said absolutely no words that it was a contract. He even told us that we could cancel within the first month with no charges. Now we're stuck with it?! I can't even see the stupid screen the font is so small! This company needs to seriously get their act together! For goodness sake, I even got a flyer in the mail, and would have preferred going with DirecTv Corporate rather than this joke. Why? Because they offer $300 in gift cards and most likely give better services than this toddler of a company. I only received $100. read more
