The owner is from NY so he brought the NY flavor to Bayonne and that's honestly the only reason why I miss Bayonne. One of the better Chinese take out places in Bayonne. Now granted, that's not saying much because all Bayonne Chinese food is subpar, but when we need something to fill a craving this place is good. They're cash only which is really inconvenient and keeps us from ordering more often. We like their dumplings, soup, ribs and General Tso's chicken. read more

Despite Bayonne not having very good Chinese, this place is.......ok. I've had horrible food in other areas and they were pretty bad. This place is pretty good with the common fare... I was disappointed their brown and garlic sauce is already flavored with oyster/fish sauce. It's terrible. I am a vegan and don't want that stuff. The first time I bought food from them I asked he said there is no oyster or fish sauce in the mixed vegetables and in the brown sauce. We tried out 6 chinese restaurants in the neighborhood and finally found this gem. Food comes hot, price is right, and usually pretty consistent. Only trouble I've had so far is an order than was incorrect. When I called them back to explain the issue and request the right entree, they argued with me for five minutes making every excuse possible (I was just asking for the right entree that I ordered, not being mean or accusing them) and when they showed up with the replacement they wanted me to go back upstairs and grab the partially eaten original order. Never had this happen before anywhere else. I've been ordering from Tung Hing before it was The New Tung Hing. They have the best Chinese fried chicken wings among the other Chinese take-out in town. We usually order the fried dumplings, Chop Suey, Shrimp Fried Rice, and of course the Chinese Fried Chicken Wings. All are very good. I ordered shrimp chow mein off the lunch special. Sounds pretty simple, doesn't it? When I spoke to the takeout lady on the phone, I thought it was weird that she asked me if I wanted pork fried rice on the side. This was the first time I ever heard noodles paired with a side of rice, but I thought maybe they were doing things differently. When I got my order, this was nothing like shrimp chow mein. It was a side of pork fried rice with a few pieces of shrimps and mostly goop with tons of cabbage. I called up the lady, and she said that was indeed shrimp chow mein. Where the chicken wings and egg rolls are crispy, the wonton soup has strips of pork and the $1 ice teas in the plastic quart containers are always cold an extra sweet in the fridge. Being that other Chinese places in Bayonne were not good enough to win my loyalty I figured I would give this place a try. Cheap, decent, and large portions. Sure they only take cash but they make it up by delivering in less than 20 min. The only time I've had a problem was when I ordered fried dumplings instead of steamed but they still tasted good. Also they have a lunch special that's amazing. We have found our new goto Chinese spot. So far we have placed 4 orders, 1 was a pickup and the rest were delivered. The delivery service is great, super fast. Not sure if its because we live about 6 blocks away, but they are fast. We were ordering for many years from a place downtown on 8th street BUT for the past few years the food quality and service have increasingly and rapidly declined. We really had no idea where to go for Chinese. Like I said the place on 8th street was our spot.
