Sadly, some folks who have had personal issues with people who attend or attended the church are using this platform to express their hurts. As a lesbian grandma, who brings my grandkids to church, I do not agree with the negative posts. Please visit us and make your own decisions if you are looking for a safe place to be yourself. My wife and I have been attending this church for about 7 years. We have both held many positions in the church, including board president for 2 years. This church has worked very hard to be a truly welcoming congregation to marginalized groups, especially the trans community. At this time in history, safe places of faith for trans folks are few and far between. We feel honored that so many trans people call us their church community. In addition, we are not a traditional church in that we believe that each person's spiritual path is their own. We have people who identify as Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Atheist, Pagan, and more who attend our church and feel it is a welcoming community for them. We have a lot to do at the church besides a Sunday service: book club, monthly movie night, board games night, potlucks, summer concerts, and more. If you want a church that challenges you to grow spiritually and draws you to act on your Christian values, this is the place,. There are multiple ways to get involved - education, service, feeding the hungry in the community (monthly free meals, vegetable garden, support for Neighborhood House food box program). We can also use people who can mow the lawn, wash dishes, trim the shrubs and all of those other things that go along with tending the Lord's house.
