We couldn't have been more happy with a rafting company!! BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!! According to our children and we agree also. My friend and I decided to have a mom and son's spring break adventure!! We drove from Bryan, Tx also known as Aggieland. Tristan our guide was awesome!! Not only did he do a great job of going over all the safety procedures before we ever hit the river he made sure we were all comfortable and answered any questions and concerns we may have had. Once in the raft Tristan instructed and showed my 11yr old and his friend (also 11) as well as my 8 year old son with special needs how to paddle both forwards and back. He also went over commands that he would be using and gave us all a short but thorough hands on training course. Once he felt we were all comfortable and ready to begin we were off!! Tristan was very knowledgeable about the river, gorge, area, and much more so without realizing our boys had an educational experience as well. He did a great job of keeping them engaged. Now for the best part!! We made it halfway down the river and our raft decided to dump us out all but my 8 year old. It was nice to see Tristan in action being able to get to the raft and get himself back in the raft. That enabled him to get my older son his friend and my friend as well as myself all back into the boat Safely. Because Tristan took the time to make sure my 8 yr old understood the on shore safety procedures my son was able to act and extended the handle of the oar out for Tristan since he was the only one still in the raft. Very impressive!! Of course the two older boys were stoked about the cool down in the river!! My 8 yr old said he wants to come back next spring break to conquer the river again with Tristan. We finished the rest of the river trip with nothing but laughter, excitement, and extremely happy boys!! Not to mention greatfull moms for not only preparing us all for the unexpected but being able to execute their own safety and rescue procedures. On another note Tristan went above and beyond to accommodate and include my 8 yr old son even before he knew he was a special needs child. He showed us that he genuinely cared about us and ensured we had a great adventure. A HUGE THANK YOU to TRISTAN and a shout out to New Wave Rafting!! We will definitely be back. read more

Wild and wonderful trip down the Racecourse on Tuesday afternoon, July, 16!! I feel stupid for falling in, but hey - shit happens, and the water felt terrific! Thanks to Ben for so professionally fishing me out. Loved the vibe among all the staff. Great with everyone, from little kids to old farts like me and my husband. They were even great joking with folks from competing rafting companies. Seems like a wonderful river community. Special thanks to Rui, who was so much fun, not to mention a skilled and reassuring guide. Really appreciated his stories/commentary about the river, its history, and the like. Very well-informed. New Wave Rafting on the Chama River, New Mexico In July 2017, I and 9 family members and friends when on 3 day 2 night rafting trip down the Chama River in Northern New Mexico. The outfitter was New Wave Rafting. The river is designated wild and scenic and it live up to this description. The scenery was spectacular. New Wave Rafting did an excellent job. The supplied equipment was in good shape. The crew was experienced and hard working. The food was excellent. They were also knowledgeable about the geology of the area. We took the New Wave No Wave with our boys aged 11 and 14, and we had so much fun ! The three hour float with a couple of easy rapids was a great introduction to rafting, we will definitely be back for more. Our guide was the best, he shared his great knowledge of the area and its history, and went out of his way to keep us safe, happy and entertained. A true gem! He provided an amazing picnic lunch on one of the beaches, and we paused for a battle of skipping rocks along the way. What an amazing trip we had! We were a group of 13 and split between 2 boats. Our guide, Orlando was super. Jesse helmed the other raft. Both incredibly knowledgeable and personable. We learned a great deal of geology and history, botany and biology, and loved every minute. Don't let the safety talk scare you away; it was an exhilarating adventure and we all felt safe and prepared. We paddled down the racecourse on the Rio Grande and it was a wonderful afternoon. We took the Rio Grande Gorge full day trip with Orlando as our guide and had a blast! He was a great guide and we did not get stuck for the entire trip in very low water. The scenery is beautiful and he taught us a lot about history and geology of the region. It rained the majority of the day but it was still a great trip because New Wave Rafting provided us with rain gear that kept us dry and warm! On 10 Jul 14 We did The DOUBLE race course again this year with ORLANDO as our guide again. Raft in the AM, drink & snacks at the take out, lunch at Sugars and then do the whole thing again in Funyaks (Inflateable kayaks) in the afternoon. Massive sore muscles (I should be in better shape) sunburn (we don't need no stink'n sunscreen) wet clothes, and SMILES, smiles, Smiles;) We've done the rest now we go with the best. My family (6) paddled the Racecourse stretch of the Rio Grand with New Wave Rafting. The trip was excellent and the river gave us a few surprises with some of its rapid shoots. We did the Taos Box. This trip was one of the best outdoors trips I've done in my life. If you picture white water rafting this is what you are thinking about.
