They were supportive and interested in what I thought &/or how I was feeling in each dress. The store was also size inclusive, which I was nervous about, but it was great! Would totally recommend! I wanted to leave here happier than I did. They have soooo many dresses!! Sooo many sizes & soo many styles! But... you have to just hope you get paired with a good stylist for the appointment. Unfortunately you (as the bride) are only able to look quickly at the dress inventory for about 5 minutes when you first arrive to pick a few to start with, but your guests are never allowed to help at any time during the visit. Throughout the short appointment all dress selections are made by your stylist. Which I unfortunately did not get matched with someone who was understanding what I was looking for. Maybe she was new, I'm not sure? I have read other reviews saying they aren't a size inclusive salon, which I don't think I could agree with. I'm hoping that is maybe just a story of the past. I was super impressed to see how many "extended sizing" sample dresses they had. As a normal dress size 14, I'm considered a "plus size bride" which can be very stressful for some. Thankfully almost every dress I tried on were in those extended sizes, which helped me to feel much more comfortable through the process. So thank you NY Bride & Co for that!! The salon is clean & the workers do seem happy to be there. I just have now heard from multiple friends that they all had similar experiences as mine - upset that their guests weren't able to be involved in dress selections (they're the people that know us best) & frustrated that the stylists don't listen to the brides wants and sort of just make dress selections based on what they think will look best on the bride to be. read more

This was in march of 2024. They gave my daughter and her entourage exactly what they needed. A wide variety of options and were patient while they settled on one. The were also patient while I was called to come back in and view. The prices were comparable other shops. I am horrible about money but these folks tolerated me and all went well. DO NOT GO HERE! Complete snob fest! Worst experience! If you want minimalist. They have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Unless you want lace, sparkles, and a mean cheerleader showing you dresses specifically said you don't like, highly don't recommend. Very disappointed they did say that they didn't have the type of dresses I was looking for when I made the appointment. Also, was supposed to get zoom meeting to consult; that did not happen. My mom and I both called to confirm the appoint and that they didn't need ask us further questions. Your dress and your day should make you feel special, not gaslit. This is a warning for any bride that is going to have their dress shipped. Just be aware that you will be solely responsible for tracking your dress and will have to sign for it when it arrives. If I pay a company for shipping, I expect that company to be responsible for my item arriving on time as expected, especially if the item is a wedding dress. I understand that sellers can't control when items will arrive, but I expect them to be responsible for *communicating* to me if there's a problem or delay so I can have time to react. I hate leaving negative reviews but I had a not great experience from 2 perspectives perpetrated by NYB. And Buckle up! It's a little long! First. Preface: my mother died in 2017 and obviously this has been such a hard time to experience planning my wedding without her. I had called the salons I planned to visit that day to request if I could bring 5 people instead of the allowed 4 as I was bringing the matriarchy of my family to represent my mom (grandmas, aunts etc). When I called NYB to ask about the accommodation I was told "no" with no real explanation except "my boss would kill me if I allowed it". Fine. I accepted this, maybe it was a small salon or there were going to be a lot of people there with appointments and they might be still sensitive to Covid which I can appreciate. However. When we arrived I notified this is in fact a HUGE salon with tons of space,almost no people, and tons of area for one more person. I polity asked again if they could accommodate my cousin who we left waiting in the car as the other salons accommodated my situation without any issue and in in fact quite a bit of sympathy. But not at NYB. She was sent away for no reasonable rationale presented except "you were already told no on the phone". Over all very rude and no empathy presented. Second offense. Thinking about it now I wonder if the over arching deficit for this stoke is poor communication/customer service training??? My second issue is when I arrived for the appt I started as we all do, describing the details I was looking for before I was promptly brought past all the beautiful gowns to a tiny little corner where they sequester all the " plus size gowns". Mind you, there are about it 50 of these and over 1000 standard size gowns. I was not given any information about why I could not try a regular gown or if they could be ordered in a larger size (I'm a size 14). My point is. Be upfront about the process and potential limitations for "plus size brides" sharing more information is always better to not make us feel othered or segregated from other brides for simply being a few sizes bigger. Overall, I felt shame that day for daring to ask that my family could be there to support me instead of my mother and then to top it off shamed for my size and limited in what I could try on to find my vision. To boot, the sales person basically gave up after about 5 gowns and said there was nothing else for me to try. I got the sense I was her last appointment of the day and she wanted to go home. Do not recommend. Luckily I was able to experience good customer service at salons before this one to quickly recognize that these people do not have it. Happy dress hunting!! read more

I will remember my magical experience here for the rest of my life! This was my first time trying on dresses and I didn't have to look anywhere else! At the beginning on the appointment I was briefed on how important it is to stay open minded. They said it's super common to come in expecting to like a certain kind and leave with something else and that's exactly what happened. I thought I wanted simple but there wasn't a dry eye in the house when I tried on this beauty!! Leanne and Morgan helped me try on probably 30 dresses and they were AMAZING! So helpful, supportive, and loving. I literally felt like my best friend was helping me. They made me feel so comfortable. Leanne took pictures for us and even wrote me a beautiful hand written note congratulating me on finding the dress! They even told me about a contest the designer of my dress was having so I could enter to win free stuff for my bridal party! I'm still floating from excitement! So so glad I came here first! If you're a bride in Syracuse....and you are looking for a place to try on gowns...you know there aren't many choices. Visit NY Bride. The ladies there are so sweet and so helpful. I visited on a Friday, which I HIGHLY recommend. Besides myself there was one other bride... and we each had our own wing of the shop. The girl who I worked with me was amazing. She found me so many dresses and really listened to what I had to say. We later returned on a Saturday to try on my top 3 dresses again. Oh no. Do NOT go on a Saturday. Especially if its anywhere from February- April. One word: Prom. ugh! There were soooooooo many girls there trying on dresses. While the staff tries to keep the brides separate from the high schoolers there are still so many people wandering around. A few other notes to make... - The staff at NY Bride never pressured me to make a purchase (which is more than I can say about some other shops in Cuse) - When I was leaning towards another dress... NY Bride did all the leg work to see if they were able to order it. Unfortunately they weren't, which was a real bummer. I've heard such amazing things about their alteration department and would have loved to use them. - The selection of dresses was awesome too. i was able to try on 15 different styles the first day I went... which is perfect when you aren't sure what you are looking for. - They don't take appointments...but like I said- go on a week day if you can! This review pertains to bridal gowns and alterations. They don't do appointments, so it means you should try and go when people aren't going to be going (i.e. Saturday) so that it is less crowded. NYB was one of the first places I visited on my search for a wedding gown. I was upfront about it being my first shot at looking for a dress, and the girl assisting me was extremely enthusiastic and helpful, even though, as most people know, on your first visit to your first store, it's unlikely you'll be making any decisions/a purchase. You can have as much or little assistance as you want - since I was bit unsure of what styles would look good on me, they helped me out with suggestions of dresses to try, and helped me narrow down what I really loved and what looked the best. Price wise, they are on par with what other bridal boutiques sell their dresses for, or, less! The dress I ended up getting, was one I found at another bridal salon. I asked NYB if they had it in stock, and they said no, but they could still order it for me, and the price they quoted me at was for less than the other store! I had my dress altered by the seamstresses at NYB - and they did an AMAZING job. I'm a really petite gal, so alterations were a must - and when it was all finished, it looked beautiful and you couldn't tell it had been altered, despite all the intricate lace on the dress and the need to do some major zipper work. The prices again are comparable for wedding dress alterations through boutiques. My dress came in and alterations were done in a timely fashion. The only snafu was a miscommunication about the bridal veil I picked out. When I purchased my dress, they offered a free bridal veil from their company. For some reason, it wasn't written down what veil I picked, and they had to scramble to procure one for me when I was having my dress altered. After the wedding, they offer a discount on having your dress sent out for cleaning! This past weekend we went shopping for my cousins bridal gown. We had a rather discouraging appointment before coming to a New York bride. We didn't make an appointment, and had no problem coming in at 11am on a Sunday. We were asked to leave our coffee and shoes at the door. So a pro tip to wear socks (or bring them). Upon entering, we immediately got a more relaxed feeling. The stylist was very kind and welcoming. She immediately felt like a friend and a confident. My cousin was very discouraged from the previous appointment and she put her at ease. We had a larger party, at about 7, and they sat us all together in a private alcove of the store. The rooms were all named things like "bliss" and love" instead of numbered, which I thought was a gorgeous personal touch. The inventory is set up in a circle and we were able to look at the gowns and even choose ones we wanted her to try on, something we hadn't been able to do at the last appointment. They offered us water as we waited for my cousin to try in the dress and, when the time came, tissues for everyone. I always have immeasurable appreciation in the little gestures. We found her a gorgeous gown that my cousin felt like a princess in. Two stylists even helped us position her to take the perfect photo. She assured us that once the dress is ordered and comes in, you can come into the store at anyone to try it on if you desire. We wanted a sample of the gown to match for bridesmaids dresses, as it wasn't a pure white. They cut us a sample from their remnants for us to keep. This is my favorite bridal boutique and I love everyone who works here! The owner and the girls here are great and really do care about you when you first walk in until you're ready to leave and your whole bridal process. I felt like a queen! My dress shopping experience was very intimate- I didn't have a lot of people in my party all at once but they were patient with me and took the time to make me feel special. I found my perfect dress and I still go back to try it on every now and then because I love it so much. The veil is gorgeous as well. I will be getting alterations done here- the girls and staff really do have knowledge and great customer service. My dress came in on time and it was just absolutely beautiful. The boutique is very clean, smells amazing and has a great ambiance throughout the whole place. They have even opened up the floor plan to allow for more space and brides to try on gowns. They do even have bridesmaid dresses here. Alterations is another department- as well as accessories for your special day. I love it here and would recommend anyone getting their dress here. OK, I will say that the tuxedos that were rented here were absolutely top-notch. And simply sending in my measurements got me a perfect fitting tux. So that was a plus, even if the rental fee was outrageous. What was not a plus was how they treated the bride-to-be when she called about questions on the tux. They initially blew her off and followed that by being outright rude. Not a good way to treat someone planning for their special day! Also, apparently one of the bridesmaid dresses, which cost over $400 came in with a broken zipper. They did not correct the problem but instead clipped the dress together as a bandaid fix. I went to NY Bride recently and I was impressed with their customer service, selection, and prices. I live in Chicago, but I am getting married in Syracuse, so when I was home during the holidays I figured I would go to a few bridal shops to see what they had. I figured that the selection wouldn't be as good as most of the shops in Chicago, but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was very helpful without being at all pushy or snobby about how much you wanted to spend. I ended up trying on about 20 dresses, and narrowed it down to four that I liked ranging in price from $600 - $2,500. And strangely, the sales assistant told me that she liked one of the cheaper ones on me the best. I suspect that they don't work on commission there, which is very refreshing. I brought my sister and one of my bridesmaids with me, and we just had a lot of fun and took our time. They didn't rush us, or try to pressure me into making a decision - even though we ended up being there for almost 3 hours! The dressing rooms were very nice and spacious, but I appreciated that they were not the kind of dressing rooms that everyone comes in. I prefer to undress in private whenever possible. In the end, I may just end up going all the way back to Syracuse to get a dress here. The service was wonderful and the prices were right. read more

Fantastic experience! This was the second bridal salon that I visited, and after having a TERRIBLE experience at a salon in downtown Syracuse, I was almost ready to give up on shopping altogether. The salon is HUGE, and very bright and clean. The dressing rooms are so big, and the outside of each door is mirrored, which is fantastic. I am also from out of town, but decided to do some dress shopping in Syracuse while home for a weekend. I took my sister and step-mom. I had been dress shopping several places here in Philly and in Syracuse and this place blew them all out of the water! First of all, the salesgirls were delightful: helpful, sweet and patient. Second of all, their prices were unbeatable! I found the same dress I had tried on here in Philly for over 500 bucks less! The one thing I really liked about this place was that they let you wander through the dresses and pick out the ones you'd like to try on. Most of the other places I went had the salesladies picking the dresses and bringing them to me (ahem, Davids Bridal). AND they let me take pictures in the dresses! Most boutiques won't allow that, so I was excited that I could send the pictures to my other sister (who was at work) and get her input too! I ended up buying my dress from here and I couldn't be happier. I'll probably have my alterations done closer to home, but I would definitely recommend NY Bride. There's no pressure to buy, no uppity salespeople and the service is one-on-one. Maybe some of these swanky Philadelphia boutiques could learn a thing or two from this upstate NY gem. Well, can you guess who read my review (which isn't even the worst one this place has) and decided it was appropriate to confront me about it in the middle of the store while I shop for a headband? I think you can. Very unprofessional. Everyone else I've had to interact with at this store has been super nice. Guess someone skipped customer service training day. So in short if you want to try on wedding dresses here and an older lady with long brown curly/frizzy hair greets you, play dead. I came here with my best friend and all but 1 of her sisters, mom, soon to be MIL, and another one of her friends (9 of us total) and we had a fantastic time! They were very attentive to our Bride and what styles she was interested in. They set us up in a corner to our selves since we had so many, and we were able to try on Bridesmaids dresses at the same time so she could get a feel of how they would look against the wedding dress (when she found the one). I live in Boston, but did some dress hunting with my Mom while visiting my family in Syracuse over the holidays. Of all the bridal shops in the Syracuse area (and I've been to them ALL), I have to say that New York Bride is by far the best. The have the largest selection of dresses, a lot of physical space, and some nice dresses at decent prices. The staff was very friendly and professional. We also showed up on a Saturday without an appointment and they still let me try on dresses and didn't give me attitude about it (like some other places do). I gave it 4 stars in comparison to bridal shops I've been to overall, but I would give it 5 stars for Syracuse (compared to some of the other bridal shops there). read more

Went for my dress and wasn't really impressed with the sales lady. She was very inattentive and blamed it on being "understaffed" but managed to take tons of time with the other bride she was working with. I wasn't asking for the world but it would have been nice if she brought dresses that were similar to what I picked as well as when I asked about belts/veil maybe brought over a couple to try on with the dress. My dress came in, in plenty of time and I called early to get alterations as I knew there was another girl at work getting married two weeks before myself and it would be hard to coordinate both of our last minute needs. They still wouldn't let me make an apt until 4 weeks out. Capri (the seamstress) was very nice upon arrival and getting to try on my actual dress. It was so beautiful in person and a great fit. She was able to explain to me why some alterations would work and others I could do without and gave me her full attention even though I was 5 minutes late to my appointment. I then tried to schedule my next fitting and she had appointments available from 2-230 coming from watertown and with the above mentioned situation I knew I was going to have inconvenience others. I barely made my appointment that day too because of work (and living an hour away) but once I tried that dress on it was worth all the stress. Capri did an amazing job!! There was one spot I was concerned with and she did it on the spot and it adjusted the top perfectly. Thank goodness for Capri cause the rest of the service was just meh. Overall : Seamstress was spot on!! Sales lady, overwhelmed and inattentive. Also would have been nice to have been explained that they only offer fitting appointments in Friday's upfront. The worst experience ever in any store. When i walked in, i was looked down upon. I told the girl, who never introduced herself, what my budget was and that I was just starting to get ideas. She led me to the As Is rack and left my friend and me to fend for ourselves. She pretty much blocked us fron going any place else to even look at styles and other dresses. The crap, yes crap, on that rack was ripped, torn, soiled and waaaaaay too small. I'm a 12-14 depending on style. They had a few 2s and maybe an 8..... Never ever would i recommend them. If I could give this place no stars I would. It was absolutely horrendous. First off the fact that you can't make an appointment is insane. So I went close to when they opened. I was greeted and then told to look around while the consultant took car of someone else. I had to not only pick the dresses that I wanted to try on but also carry them to the smallest room ever shoved in the corner. I was supposed to have two consultants tag teaming me but they treated me like I didn't even exist. They helped me into one of the ten dresses that I tried on. Just one. Maybe because I didn't have an entourage with me I didn't seem important. I would come out and stand on the stool and they never even came over to me. Not once. They might walk by and say oh that's pretty but never once asked me anything. They swooned over all the other girls. I thought maybe because it was busy at first that's why they never came over to me but once it calmed down they still never even said a word. I found a few pretty dresses and had a very large budget but they could have cared less. They never even noticed when I left. Even if I found the dress of my dreams there I would have found someone else that had it just to not have to deal with those awful staff ever again!!!!!! read more

No. Just no. I wish I could give them zero stars. First of all, they don't do appointments- which is fine but the consultants literally refuse to help you. We asked them to do our measurements and they insisted (after a 20 minute wait) on doing them in front of the freezing door/ cash register and shouted our measurements out loud to everyone in the room. They also only carry one size in each dress and the person doing our measurements couldn't even recommend a size to us. Despite all this we ordered our dresses here since the bride loved them and we are good little bridesmaids. Well after I paid in full for the dress ($200) found out months later that I would need to pay an additional $21 because they didn't order the dress when I paid so they chose to "rush" order it or else I would never see the dress (despite the money I already spent - which they also refuse to refund even though they changed the price of it after I already paid it). Even with the rush it is four months since I ordered it (3 weeks till the wedding) and they still can't tell us when the dresses are going to come in. I have been in numerous weddings and have dealt with 10+ bridal companies myself and this is by far the worse. Please, please, I beg you to go somewhere else. Don't let them ruin your special day. Only positive thing is the dress itself- which I've seen at many other bridal salons (for a cheaper price). read more

I live locally but my friends and family dont. We shopped all over one weekend while most were in town. Had a few good experiences and one really bad one. My girls, mother and mother-in-law felt very pressured to buy thier dresses that moment, good thing they didnt. My mother-in-law on the other hand did and boy does she wish she didnt. Found the dress down the street where all the other girls purchased thiers for $150 cheaper. She never got the dress when they said she would have it. She came in town for it and they delayed ordering it so it was not in. Good thing It came in the week of the wedding and it fit pretty well so it only needed a few touch ups. What a stressful couple days those were. We even had to pay a rush on alterations!!! Never again and and I will never refer anyone and I really suggest no one go there. Thier are other wonderful places in the village, especially one cute little place down the street.(The name of the shop is a girls name, wonderful place and employees)!!! Four stars is me being conservative for this amazing boutique. I was so pleased when I walked through those doors. The consultants actually refer to you by name and are always there to help you into dresses (and lace the corset back of a dress ALL THE WAY UP!). They offer styling suggestions with veils and hair pieces, and really go the distance to help you see what you could look like on your wedding day. By luck I had the same consultant for two visits to the store and she remembered me and details that I shared about my wedding a month prior! Not only is the staff amazing, but the dresses are equally fantastic. They carry quality dresses at reasonable prices. And they have a great selection. What a joke of a bridal salon. Not only did they measure me wrong for my bridesmaid dress, but they hemmed my friends wedding dress wrong. When we went in to try on the bridesmaid dresses, they were mostly unhelpful and very pushy. They quoted me one price for the deposit and then when it came time to pay, it was more than the original 50% they had asked. This bridal salon is absolutely horrible. Not only was it difficult to get what I was looking for, I was asking the sales girl to show me dresses that come in white, Still shows me ones that don't, I asked for a certain neckline, little more bling, brings ones that don't have either. Then I find the perfect dress, everyone is crying when I have it on beautiful. Just found out that it only comes in PLUS SIZE, they say oh we have a great alteration department. I am a 10, smallest they could order that gown is a 16W. Why even let me try on a gown that doesn't even come close to my size. I am devastated, there is no reason to even order that gown because alterations would be outrageous. I now have to go find another wedding gown when I had this gown set as the one I was going to get married in. I am absolutely furious. I should have listened to other family and friends that told me not to go there in the first place. read more
