I'll preface this review by saying my now husband and I were engaged for four years with 3 different wedding plans that fell through- once because of money and twice because of tragedy. So I've had my share of David's Bridal Experiences to compare this to. After two nightmarish experiences at my local DB, another friend who was getting married recommended NY Bride to me and I am so glad I asked her. It worried that it may be another trashy bridal salon upon learning they did not take appointments, but my worries vanished as soon as I stepped inside. It's really nice inside, Everyone was friendly, the consultants are zero pressure and will leave you alone unless you ask for help. I was looking for a particular style and my lady continued to bring me dresses until I found one that I loved and guess what? It was $500 under my budget! It was actually less than the one I bought from DB...by $300! I was not pressured into buying any accessories from them, and they treated my mother well. Just be advised that they do ask you to remove your shoes in the winter and if you want your feet to be warm, bring slippers. The alterations lady was great. I don't feel like I was robbed blind, which is a plus. and she made me feel like I wasn't standing in front of her in my underwear (I was). Magnificent experience all around. My husband also got his tux here. It was a destination wedding and fairly long honeymoon so one low rental price covered the suit being out for three weeks. It looked so good on him. read more

Going to NY Bride for both my wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses was PERFECT! I could not have asked for a better experience! Gorgeous yet cozy atmosphere. Funny, smart, kind staff. I left that day knowing I had nothing to worry about! Highly recommended. read more

a no star would be to good. they made such a mess of the brides dress she could not even wear it . they made a mess of two of the brides maids dresses , one had to get re-altered the day of the wedding. i advise everyone not to do business at ny bride !!! even worse , they did not even care!!! read more

From the moment I walked into this place I should have known not to order my dress from them. We arrived 15 minutes before they closed on a Saturday, not realizing they close so early on a Saturday. After having driven from an hour away I thought they might be a little more understanding when I explained that we didn't know that closed so early. They rushed me in and out of 3 dresses and then proceeded to turn off the lights on us while we were still in the store. Out of options of places to buy a dress, I went back a week later to buy my dress. I was by myself and therefore didn't have a bunch of bridesmaids in tow, which is apparently who they actually help (more people, more money). After picking some dresses out, I was put into a dressing room and left there. I actually had to ask someone for clips to tighten the dress. Thinking at that point someone might help me, they simply handed me the clips and walked away. Umm, how am I supposed to put them on by myself? Ultimately I ended up buying a dress there. Upon doing so, I needed a date of when the dress would arrive so that I could factor in time for alterations. They couldn't give me a date they said. So, out of fear, I paid for the express shipping. After about a month, I emailed them for a tracking number or some sort of update on the dress. Again, they CLAIMED they could not obtain that information. Well, as it turns out, they absolutely could. I contacted DESSY and found out that the NY Bride like any other retailer can contact them at any time to find out the ship date. They flat out lied to me. On top of which now I am being charged an additional $20 for the dress to be shipped from the store to my house even thought I told them I was not getting my alterations done at their store. So, now I am out $40 for shipping charges, half of which could have been avoided had they actually given me the ship date and not instill fear that the dress might not arrive on time. Aside from all of this, they are simply rude and snide on the phone. AVOID this store unless you want a terrible bridal dress shopping experience and want to waste your money based on lies. read more

I really enjoyed my experience at this bridal shop. Others that I went to were too uptight and miserable. I liked that I was able to pick the dresses that I wanted to try on instead of being told not to touch anything. It was very comfortable for us. I only took my mom and went several times to narrow down my dresses and I had different staff each time. They were all very friendly and made it a very easy experience for me. I was also able to take pictures of the dresses that I tried on when I was not able to do that in other bridal shops. I ordered my dress from here and then took my bridesmaids back to get their dresses here and had the same wonderful experience. They really enjoy their jobs and are very accommodating to their clients. Although they do not take appointments, my bridesmaids and I went in on a Saturday that was absolutely packed...we were nervous to walk in because of all of the cars and there were 8 of us total. We were taken right in and helped right away - the showroom is enormous and there is more than enough staff and space to accommodate whatever you need. LOVE IT read more

NY Bride is amazing!! My poor niece spilled liquid makeup all over the back of her gown 10 minutes before the wedding ceremony!!!! I know the staff at NY Bride from the many Bridal SHows that they have done and I knew that they could help...so the MOB and I jumped in the car and flew to their shop (it was only a few minutes away)! We ran in and the whole shop stopped what they were doing to help us find a dress off the rack! We picked one out in her size and ran out the door! Needless to say, her new wedding dress fit her like a glove and she even loved it more than her original dress!! The wedding went off without a hitch...only 20 mins late!!! Wow! Thank you so much to Tracy and all of her staff over at NY Bride! You took a brides worst nightmare and turned it into her most memorable day! Awesome job ladies! Even when two crazy women literally fell into your store and were screaming frantically, you were all so very professional and sympathetic! I was in this weekend with my best friend who is getting married in June (I am her MOH). I was incredibly insulted when I inquired with the consultant about the range of size options (both the bride and I are "plus sized", but the bride is a regular dress size 14, so a wedding 18--I am a 16/18) the consultant said "Well we have lots of gowns for NORMAL sized brides, and some other sizes over in the corner for you. But you can still try on anything here. Im a size 8 and I can't even fit into sample sizes!" Really not the way to go here, NY Bride. NEVER refer to a potential sale as not normal. We were then not offered any real help in choosing dresses or discussing styles or options. The consultant helped ME learn how to use the clips but that was it. The bride is not feel special at all. We tried on 5 dresses and while one dress was really lovely, there is no way either of us was going to be spending our hard-earned money there. If the job of your salon is to make EVERY BRIDE feel beautiful and special that was a spectacular failure. read more
