This place is wonderful. I went everywhere in the Syracuse area and this was by far the best bridal store around. I was skeptical bc of the negative reviews online, but it was the best experience ever!!! If you're looking for a unique bridal gown, go here. If you're looking for run of the mill bridal, go to David's and pray it will look ok when it's shipped from the mass produced factory in China. Everyone, including the owner, is incredibly helpful and friendly. They allow walk ins which is also a huge perk. I found my same dress at NY Bride but felt so relieved when I found it at Spybaby since the NY Bride associates were really rude and the company is having financial issues so I was worried the store would close (store closes = no dress). I went here with my niece to find a prom dress. She did find one she wanted, but they didn't have her size. The person helping us said she would message the owner and see if it could be ordered. I never heard back. I gave them over a week to respond. We ended up buying a $900 dress elsewhere. Their loss of a sale I guess. read more

I called and scheduled a prom dress appointment. Never did they say that they have only a few dresses to choose from. When we got there they were all surprised to seee we were there for prom because there's no prom happening in the area due to covid. We did drive an hour and 10 minutes just to go to this place. They said we didn't order for prom because we're not having prom in this area. we did find a dress wanted to buy in the meager selection but they didn't have our size. their response was if you can't make the size work we can't help you we will not order your your size. (tried on size 4 , needed a size 6) We said thank you very much and left. Very disappointed!! Felt unwelcome for sure . read more

Wow, I was so so so pleased with my experience at Spy Baby! I am in the market for a wedding dress and have been dreading the experience of going to a bridal salon to look at dresses that may not look good on me or were out of my price range. I wanted to go somewhere that had good quality dresses that weren't cheap looking but not quite Kleinfelds prices. Spy Baby was it! The perfect middle ground! Great selection over a variety of price ranges, nice comfortable fitting rooms, great lighting, and accommodating hours. I was lucky enough to have Erica help me out. She was such a sweet heart without being overbearing and never pushy, gently guiding me in the right direction while allowing the freedom to do some of my own perusing. I showed up without an appointment. She was so patient, and tried to make time to show me around while she was tending to the other shoppers. She listened to everything I wanted (or more a big list of what I didn't want) and ended up choosing my favorite, that was well within my price range (I was trying to stay under $1000)! I know I got lucky working with her. She really made the whole experience not scary and actually kind of nice. Thank you so much Erica! Bonus, Blue Tusk is right around the corner, so afterwards I was able to enjoy their AMAZING selection of microbrew beers! I had high hopes for this place because the dress I bought really was amazing. All of my issues were pre-covid so I don't feel bad about this post. My first encounter was them taking me straight to the plus size section even though basically all of their dresses can be ordered in a range of sizes so that annoyed me. They measured me and ordered a dress based off the widest part of my body (my hips) even though the dress was totally flowy from the waist down. So when I finally get the dress I try it on and it's HUGE. I mean Huge. The dress was paid for and all sales are final so I couldn't do anything about it. I heard bad things about their seamstress so I took it to my own who said stores order dresses bigger so they can charge more for alterations which made me SO MAD. Basically I hate my dress and I'm stuck with it because it's so big but my seamstress is working her magic. Not feeling like the princess for my big day like I should. read more

Absolutely awful experience and horrible customer service. The manager is very rude, snotty and unprofessional. If you are looking for wedding dresses or bridesmaids dresses do NOT go here. They will order you multiple sizes too big only to charge you extra money and to make money off of the alterations.If you are in the central NY area I would highly recommend going to NY Bride. I ordered another bridesmaid dress from here and the service was outstanding, size fits perfectly and barely needs any alterations! Remind you I used the same measurements for each place! read more

This was the experience I was hoping my daughter would have. Absolutely hands down the best place in Syracuse to go. The staff and owner are simply amazing with how they can look at your shape and find dresses that flatter it. Terrible service at Spybaby, they were rude from the start. They acted like they didn't want to help me. They found me the style I wanted and abandoned me. Had to search for an employee for help. When they did help they told me I had big ribs and insisted I go a size up. Then they charged me 15$ for my measurements! They also were talking garbage about other stores and online sites that sell the dress for less. I will never go back and after that experience I remembered why I never wanted to go there. read more

Do NOT get your dress altered here!!! Buy it, but don't alter it here. I worked with Cara to pick out my wedding dress- she was WONDERFUL. She even was the one to pick it my wedding dress and insisted I try it on even after I said I didn't like it on the hanger. Turns out I loved it (and obviously ended up buying it). However, Maria did my alterations and that was a big mistake. I am from out of town and told her I NEEDED to only have two fittings (I only needed it hemmed and bustled. That was it). It was totally doable in two visits - and four months. But when I went to "pick up" my dress and the second fitting, three months after my first fitting.... All the pins were in the same spot they were the first fitting... She kept insisting I come back during the day and during the week for another fitting. Too bad I have a full time job hours away... (That was also written in my file). She also didn't actually bustle it correctly (I didn't know until the day of the wedding.. I had to pick up the dress by myself since I had no other time for someone to go with me). It was SOOOOO long- I spent the entire night holding my dress up a foot because she didn't hem it enough. (Again, no time to change anything when I picked it up).. One of the bustle buttons was too big for the bustle loop so it wouldn't fit or stay on. The bustle also wasn't even really a bustle... All night my guests kept asking if I wanted them to bustle up the dress for me since it was so long. I kept telling them it already was. All in all, my lessons learned: great place to shop and buy from- but a very unfriendly seamstress. read more

My sister in law bought her wedding dress here. This past Saturday, her wedding day, we could not get her dress tied correctly in the back and it was driving her crazy as it wasn't perfectly fitting. I called Spy babies, they were were fifteen minutes from closing and we were ten minutes away at our hotel about to board the shuttle for her wedding. With literally seconds to spare before we threw the entire time line off Spy Babies acted quickly (and graciously)...they sent a staff member down who tied her dress up as we were loading the shuttle. If this isn't exemplary service I don't know what is. Thank you so much for going above and beyond (and saving the day!). read more

Unfortunately an awful experience. When we first arrived to SpyBaby Bridal my friend and I were not greeted for at least 5 minutes (even though we stood right near the front desk). When we were finally acknowledged it was barely friendly. I am on a smaller budget and was hoping to see dresses priced $800.00 (tops). The woman who was 'assigned' to us nastily and loudly told us that we would have to searchhhh through the racks to try to find something in that price. My friend and I could not believe how rude and belittling her behavior was. She continued by pulling 3 dresses and told me my room was all set. I undressed and while putting on the first dress I noticed the $1400 price tag!!!!!! It is one thing if you do not have anything in my price range...it's fine I understand, but just TELL me! Do not stick me in a room with 3 beautiful dresses all $600-$800 above my price range. Will not recommend to my friends one day nor would I recommend to anyone searching for a pleasant experience. Customer service could be GREATLY improved. How rude. read more

I made an appointment after trying to find a dress on my own online however, CODIV postponed our ceremony and the venue changed so I tried out a place in North Syracuse and their selection was small. I then made an appt with Spybaby Bridal hoping it would be a better experience. I watch too much Say Yes To The Dress and needed to find my dream dress. My appt was today and it was amazing. Everyone employed here is so friendly and complimentary. The atmosphere is unbeatable. Their selection is amazing, I was happy trying on different dresses here because their collections are newer and very well taken care of. The best part financially is that you have three flexible options: layaway, deposit and purchase in full. Additionally if you purchase off the rack/10% off. Once you purchase here, your bridal party gets 10% off here as well. The woman I worked with was super helpful, she kept one dress hanging at all times and continued to pull dresses for me based on what I liked or didn't like as well as final sale items. Then anytime I tried on a dress that was my new favorite she took away a dress and hung this one in my dressing room. It helped me eliminate others and narrow in on what I liked on me without being worried about missing the perfect one. I've been looking way to long and tried so many other options before this..I got a custom bridal dress from Etsy. I found a cute elopement dress on amazon, then I purchased a stunning white dress from Lulus. This bridal shop offered it all, and I was finally ready to say yes to a dress and not look anymore. A lot of my purchases were failed attempts. I also looked a lot online at new collections for designers like Kenneth Winston and Casablanca and knew coming in it would be hard to please me because I had such high hopes. 10/10 encouraging my bridal party to go. My daughter purchased her ball gown here. The dress she chose was purchased off the rack because there wasn't enough time to order. She received a 10% discount which was great however the day of the ball when she was getting ready for pictures we noticed the word sample embroidered into the material at the bottom of the dress. We tried to remove it but couldn't without damaging the dress. This ruined the whole day for her. When I called to alert the owner of this she said this is common and if I brought the dress back she would now remove it. I am so disappointed this could have been avoided if they would have checked over the dress and advised my daughter that was a common occurrence.
