What a memorable way to see such a magnificent cityscape! We picked the sunset private tour and from the golden hour to nightfall, the skyline lights danced around us leaving us mesmerized by all the remarkable views. Our captain, Tom, did not disappoint as he shared interesting facts and found some amazing photo opportunities for us to capture. Tom was knowledgeable and charismatic, he really added a layer of ease to this remarkable trip. I can't recommend this tour company enough, every one of us left gushing about the top notch experience. Thank you "New York Harbor Tours" for making our 30th Birthday, one we will never forget.

Up close and personal

Dave was our capTain 7-22. We had the best time! He ensured we were comfortable as it seemed like it might rain. He gave us clear instructions, was incredibly pleasant and engaging with our kids and made us all feel at ease! I would do this again in a heartbeat!! An incredible experience!!!!

Highly recommend! What an absolutely amazing trip we had! We knew we didn't want to go on a large tourist boat cruise so we opted to try a private charter. Best decision we ever made. From the moment we got on the boat until the time we left it was amazing. The captain was knowledgeable and friendly and made us feel right at home, not to mention he paid attention to detail and always made sure we were safe. Very kid friendly and accommodating. A life vest was provided for my son. You had the option to bring your own food and beverages, they also had a restroom on board. Overall it was a very memorable and pleasant experience.

The open top is a great way to see the buildings especially when it's your first time to the city. The recorded running commentary is informative and witty. This year we again did one day on the red route and one day the blue route. Great experience- especially Denise and Wanda!

When I mentioned we had limited time on the second day, he said he'd make it a 3-day ticket instead. When the ticket printed still showing 2 days, he assured me it would be adjusted. I was suspicious but purchased anyway. The next morning at check-in, we explained it was supposed to be a 3-day ticket, not two. The staff member said there was nothing he could do. That evening, I tried customer service chat. After wading through useless automated responses, I finally got a human. The initial responses weren't great, but I was eventually told to email a photo of my receipt, which I did. As of the following day, I still haven't received a response. The chat experience itself was frustrating -- it kept bouncing back to a bot even while I was mid-conversation with a live agent. On top of that, we purchased 4 tickets but were only given one ticket/receipt for the group. This means we can't split up and travel separately, and customer service had no way to accommodate this. In this day and age, that's unacceptable. Bottom line: Be careful when purchasing -- the street salespeople are not trustworthy, and once they have your money, support is minimal to nonexistent.

However, it was actually just a ferry ride, which is free, with no real organization of getting on except for running and making sure you can see the tour guide and then getting off to instantly to catch the next one back as soon as you got there. This should be explained in the details. Additionally, you do stop at the places mentioned but you do not get access to go into anything. For the Brooklyn Bridge it was basically just walking to the front for a photo and leaving. Same for Grand Central Terminal, you go in and walk around quickly while he explains a few things. For $220/pp, I expected a bit more. Martin was our tour guide and he was great. His voice was loud and he knew what he was doing. Just keep in mind that you should honestly be in shape for this tour because you are consistently having to jog/run to keep up with the tour guide to stay on schedule. I would not recommend for anyone who cannot keep up. All in all, we had a smaller group, so it felt more intimate and it was nice meeting others from different countries and states. And you are able to get nice pictures throughout.
