Great tour!!! The only hiccup was the bus was unmarked and not parked in front of McDonalds as described on the website/email instructions. I had just explained to my son the importance of arriving early because arriving on time makes you late(he wondered why we left the hotel early though we were only a couple of blocks away from McDonalds.) The unmarked bus was parked across the street in front of the Paramount building. We were in line for a different tour who was parked in front McDonalds who informed us that we were in line for the wrong tour and pointed to the unmarked bus. We still arrived on time. I then explained to my son that situations like this is why you arrive early. I had a ton of missed calls and was contacted by email but a sign of some sort would've helped(a magnetic sign on the driver and passenger doors, or a foldable sign that can be transported on the bus) as I noticed the bus from across the street(the same side as Applebees and Ellen's Stardust Diner) but had no way of identifying it. read more

Took this tour while visiting with my mom for a long weekend. We opted for this tour instead of the others because it stated there was a one hour boat ride to see the Statue of Liberty. However, it was actually just a ferry ride, which is free, with no real organization of getting on except for running and making sure you can see the tour guide and then getting off to instantly to catch the next one back as soon as you got there. This should be explained in the details. Additionally, you do stop at the places mentioned but you do not get access to go into anything. For the Brooklyn Bridge it was basically just walking to the front for a photo and leaving. Same for Grand Central Terminal, you go in and walk around quickly while he explains a few things. For $220/pp, I expected a bit more. Martin was our tour guide and he was great. His voice was loud and he knew what he was doing. Just keep in mind that you should honestly be in shape for this tour because you are consistently having to jog/run to keep up with the tour guide to stay on schedule. I would not recommend for anyone who cannot keep up. All in all, we had a smaller group, so it felt more intimate and it was nice meeting others from different countries and states. And you are able to get nice pictures throughout. read more

Just got off the tour today (11/25/23). I must say this is a 10/10 experience. I would highly recommend this to anyone willing and able to. The tour is from 9:30AM-3:30PM, with walking, ferry crossings, and van rides. Guy and Bryant are a fantastic duo, Guy drives us around in his beautiful black van and Bryant does the tour. Bryant has a plethora of jokes, information and he ensures we all have a good time. I am so happy we did this tour instead of the "big" corporate double decker buses. I know some people will be "scared" away by the price but you get what you pay for and we don't regret spending that extra money to get a 5 star tour. The group is small, intimate, and we get up close and personal with the New York my husband and I have grown to love. A hiki i ka manawa a'e...Mahalo nui iā 'oukou a pau. This was my first time visiting New York, and my wife's second, and all we wanted was a quick experience of as much as we could see during our stay, and the Small Bus Tours NYC offered precisely what best suited our needs. NY is just so huge with so much history, sights, and experiences that there's no way you're giong to see and experience absolutely everything there is to offer in this city. For a first timer, I have always thought it be best to visit, see, and briefly experience some of the highlights of the city, and if we ever came back, we could explore those same places in more detail, if we wanted to. That being said, yes, it was a quick rush to view all the sites as described in the tour's itinerary. However, we had a great....and very cool..... tour guide (Bryant) who is a native of NY, has great knowledge about NY's history, and gave us great detail about each of the sites we visited, in great detail. He has a clear voice and spoke very well.....and is quite the bit of the joker, but needs to know who he is directing his jokes to.....most foreigners or visitors of different generations may not get the American humor.....like my wife....haha. What we also liked about Bryant was that he had the experience to know when to visit a spot.....to avoid the crowds, to get the best views of everything without having to fight the crowds, and the best spot to go to in order to take the best photos....like on the ferry ride to Staten Island and back. Ok, as for some of the lower rated reviews on here, I do agree that it wasn't clear that we would be gettniig on the ferry.....which was free. I was under the impression that we would be couring around on a paid private group boat ride. Yes, the tour company should have made this more clear on their website. Other than that, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour, learned so much about the city, and got to see, visit, and learn way more than we would have had we gone out on our own. Also, the weather forecast called for rain this day, but as luck would have it, it was just a bit cloudy. I am guessing that because of the forecast for rain, very few people opted to book a tour on this day, but we took the chance and fortunately ended up enjoying the "private" tour with our very small group. Martin should really be everyone's Day One in NYC. The taxi fare alone to jet around the major sites is worth it, but Martin brings that special charisma and humor that can't really be faked. I'm a rather critical person, and my only criticism would be the unmarked van pickup at the starting point. However, I was called immediately at the start time to ensure I was there, so maybe the unmarked van has to do with sharing the van or something related to licensing (idk), but when you've got other tours going on around that area, a little extra nudge in the right direction is appreciated, especially for the ESL folks who might not be as confident asking others for guidance. You are given tidbits of enough you would t get on a normal tour, like foods to avoid, places to shop for cheaper, etc. Water bottles are provided, and bathroom breaks are scheduled. Bryan and Guy we're EXCELLENT tour guides and drivers. I took a trip to NYC fort 53rd birthday, by myself. The reviews lured me in and man it was the best decision ever. Only 12 people on the tour, we were told about the history of NYC. Everyone was friendly and I did not feel like I was by myself. Bryan and Guy need to work on their jokes, but not their tour guide skills! We laughed, and laughed. I am a Navy Vet that served my country during 9/11 and the way Bryan paid respect to the 9/11 memorial, respected the grounds by not conducting a tour on it but at the tip of the strips was so nice. If you get Martin as your tour guide, you are good to go! He was knowlegable about so many things...movie locations, architecture, history, and anything you would need to know about New York. He had a great energy, was organized and you can tell he was having a good time. It is not just a 6 hour bus ride. He was narrating the whole time. The tour was great but the details were misleading. I chose this tour over others because it included Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty. What they don't say is that you only go by the Empire State Building and see the Statue of Liberty from a public free ferry ride where you rush in and pack in like sardines then run to catch the returning ferry. It was great, private and comfy . But if you're the type of person who loves taking photos , this is not for you, There's no chance for you & family to pose & take photos specially at those famous landmarks. The tour guide talks too much and when he's done he signals to leave right away to proceed with the tour. Spent so much time in 911 memorial with all the info that most of those we have known already since it was in the news , documentary, history all over for the longest time. I cant believe we never had any photo as family taken in there . It's hard to interrupt the guide while he is talking , i don't want to look disrespectful. Booked a last minute NYC tour! Bryant was an awesome tour guide who kept us entertained for the entire trip! It was a great way to see all of the highlights of an amazing city. It was jam packed with many amazing stops filled with fun history of the city. It was very organized and just the right amount of time. We weren't sure what the purpose of the supervisor "Catherine" was on the bus. She didn't speak at all and it seemed to make the atmosphere awkward if you will. As the significant other of a business owner of over 400 employees I could definitely see eliminating that position and giving Guy the driver and Bryant a substantial raise and dispersing those responsibilities appropriately. read more

We were close to booking a big bus hop on hop off tour, SO GLAD WE DIDN'T! Small Bus Tours NYC is THE way to go. We are a family of 5 with kids ages 8, 6, & 3. We had Guy as our driver and Bryant as our tour guide. Guy picked us up at our hotel, was friendly and offered fun comments along the drive. Bryant is very committed to what he does and knows a great deal of both modern and old NYC history. He also recommended a great pizza restaurant that we followed for dinner - the first pizzeria in NY, Lombardi's. Was amazing! Highly recommend this tour. They do squeeze a lot in so the time at each hop off location isn't long, I think the longest other than the 30 minute lunch break was the 20 minutes we had at the 9-11 memorial. No regrets though! I cannot believe it. The so-called business owner of this bus tour said his name was GUY (before he said his name is Jeffrey). He has just emailed me, saying that I was reviewing the wrong company after almost 6 months. His name is unchanged since the driver was also called GUY, and his employees were still Frankie, Bryant, and Catherine. I have the NYPD report for his aggressive harassment phone calls. I still keep records of his 7 calls in July 2019, and the phone number of the detective from NYC who followed up with me after my return home. What kind of a company is desperately trying so hard for a perfect 5-star rating on Yelp and Tripadvisor in order to hook innocent people into his tours? An honest person would not go to that extreme as he has done!!! Be alert, and cautious of this company. read more

GREATEST TOUR IN NY! Best decision we made during our trip to! Frank our tour guide was absolutely amazing, i don't know how he does it. He talked the whole time and never made it boring or overwhelmed you with facts. We were worried it was too long but we didn't feel the time at all, time flew by. They have waters and plenty of restrooms stops and a nice lunch break at the ferry building. Bryant made sure everything was running smooth and Fernando the driver was great as well. My traveling companion had just 1 day in NYC, and she had never been to the Big Apple. Guy was our tour guide, and there were only 3 of us on the tour. We were able to see a lot of the city, and for 2 ladies traveling alone for 1 day, this was a SAFE, and PERFECT option. The bus was clean, spacious, had water and phone chargers. This tour was perfect for our family of 5 with teens, father in law, & a son with autism and intellectual disability. We wanted a smaller sized tour group and a tour that wasn't too long. This was it! The shuttle bus was comfortable, had wi-if, some electrical plugs, and they provided bottled water. Frank & Guy were great guides & driver. We really enjoyed the tour and especially our stop at the 9/11 memorial. Frank was able to make it even more personal with his own experience of that day and the effects thereafter. Frank was very accommodating with our son who at times talks and/or laughs loudly at random times. Another great Yelp find! We didn't want a big group thing and I'm not a big fan of guided tours but considering what a zoo NYC seemed to be we decided on Small Bus Tours. We read all of the reviews and decided to go with them. Online booking was a snap and our confirmation was received within minutes. We also got a follow-up email with information as to where to meet etc. Guy was our very seasoned bus driver he got us through the daily snarls of NYC traffic, Bryant was our guide. Both of them were really informative and pretty funny. They definitely made the tour worthwhile. We had a lot of fun the entire way. There were only 6 others on the " small bus " with us. The two ladies from Arkansas added to the fun by teasing Bryant and making us all laugh. We had a great sampling of the amazing sights around New York. The only thing we didn't get to see was the Dakota because NYPD had some streets blocked off due to a bomb scare. Visiting the 9/11 memorial was definitely a moving experience and something you need to visit. Also seeing One World Trade center is pretty incredible. We saw so much of the city, something we couldn't have done on our own. We also went on the Staten Island Ferry with the group, which to my surprise is free to everyone! Wow, free stuff in NYC, hard to believe. I think the best view of The Statue of Liberty is actually from the ferry. Small Bus Tours offer both half day and full day tours as well as nighttime tours. If you plan to come to NY you must take this tour with Bryant (tour guide)and Guy (driver). We had the most amazing tour today. They were very entertaining, friendly and hilarious. Our group included 2 women from Arkansas (Michelle) she was just such a blast made the tour so much fun with her wit. Bryant serenaded us with his musical talented voice and jokes. We also had a couple from the UK, a couple from Canada and then the 2 of us from CA. We went to so many places SOHO, NOHO, Chinatown, Brooklyn Bridge, 9-11 memorial, garment district. Theater district and East village and went by Greenwich village. I would say I enjoyed taking the Staten Island ferry and seeing the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island from afar that was enough. read more

We only had three in our party, so we ended up having a private tour. The Black Beauty Van we rode in was very comfortable. Our tour guide Bryant was extremely knowledgeable about NYC and his jokes were funny too. The pace was nice and my dad , who has had hip replacement, was able to do most of the walk tour parts. Once he just stayed on the van. I was not sure where we would be for lunch, but the stop for the Staten Island has sever fast food restaurants to choose from. There was not any traffic in the city so we got to drive by a few other places before the tour was over. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to see the City. read more
