Angelo saved our dog's life -- and I mean that in the most literal sense possible…read more Oliver is a rescue who had been surrendered by two families before us. We took him in, loved him, and still found ourselves in crisis -- biting, aggression, resource guarding. We were scared of our dog and desperate for help. Oliver was our fifth dog and as a family we were seasoned users of positive reinforcement as the primary training method. We turned to Angelo at Art of K9 and made the decision to board Oliver for 8 weeks. He took on Oliver after a thorough consultation. Angelo worked through Oliver's aggression and resource guarding using the e-collar and other training tools. These methods gave us the ability to communicate with and control our dog in a way positive reinforcement couldn't. The transformation is hard to put into words. Oliver is now relaxed, cuddly, and genuinely at peace. He still has his moments -- but now we have the tools to handle them. This has changed everything. If you have a dog with serious aggression or resource guarding and you're at your breaking point, I highly recommend Angelo. He didn't just train Oliver -- he saved his life and we are so thankful.

At first, we second guessed our choice to leave Monsi for 6-weeks because we missed her. Every time we checked in with Angelo, he updated us, but we missed our fur baby so much. Now, afterwards, I can't stop recommending this program to everyone I know. It's a worthwhile investment IF you plan to KEEP UP with it. All of Angelo's work can easily be undone with dog owners that do not upkeep the foundation he creates. Currently our dog listens to each command after one time saying it, she is walking off leash behind us, does not lurk around the table while we eat or cook, stays in place for 2-hours and counting, and more. Overall, she has many service dog qualities. I need to give credit where it is due because our dog was unsure of herself, very anxious, annoying at times because she didn't know what to do during quiet hours at home and needed way too much physical exercise (4+ hours daily). He taught us, and our dog Monsi, that exercise and socialization looks different than we thought. Monsi is the dog we dreamed of and didn't know how to achieve. He tapped into her potential. She does not impede our life in anyway. She adds on to the quality and is stress free now that we know how to maintain and handle her. Not only that, but my parents sent their dog at the same time as our dog. So now we have two dogs that listen to the same command. We can bring our dogs on vacation and have complete calm and fun with them present. This was the greatest gift to a life of joy with a well trained fur family member! Thank you Angelo and Art of K9. I know picking a program at such a cost is nerve recking since there is not enough information or proof online but promise me, this is the place. We put a lot of trust into prior reviews and tiktok/Instagram videos.... We got lucky finding this place. It's a hidden gem of Westchester. If anyone needs more details to convince you this program is worth it, contact me. I'll convince you- haha!

They have had a terrible reputation for grooming forever. Our first review was about PETSMART in Mahopac. So is this review. Because I moved and have been going there for 25+ years, but not in person because now where you got older and sicker and more disabled; we try to get AutoShip. Total goddamn disaster. My vet told us not to order the cat litter. That's supposed to detect UTIs in cats because they actually give cats UTIs. That's how much PETSMART cares. I wouldn't let them groom, my cat, even if she were dead. Rob, the manager just ended up screaming my name three times because I guess I irritated him by the incompetence of his corporation. He came up with some avalanche BS BECAUSE I'M NO LONGER IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM BECAUSE I HAVEN'T BEEN THERE SINCE THE PANDEMIC. The little plastic card thingy fell off the keychain because it's so old that it broke and nothing we did could fix it to stay on the keychain We've been going there for 25+ years, but no he can't find me in his computer and now you're going to raise your voice at me. The reason I don't let my husband make these phone calls is because he has very high blood pressure and wow, you don't wanna know him when he's pissed off Please never leave your pet there for grooming. And yes, they do lie about how you don't need a prescription for prescription food so you get all the way up there and then you leave empty-handed. Do you know how much money we spent there in the last 30 years? At one point we had 11 cats. We were supposed to just be foster parents for the pregnant mother and her five kittens and we could not keep them all because 11 cats is too many cats to take care of financially for us. We also live in a small space and cats like their space. So I also shopped there because I was a volunteer for this alleged cat rescue place. They just killed all the sick kittens, she personally is a millionaire and she takes donations. I do think her alleged rescue organization is called cat rescue. Yuck to everything. Sorry if you don't like our review but we're only taking the trouble to tell you now so no other animal gets hurt. We love our fur babies and they should understand that it says PETSMART not pet stupid

Julius Caesar was rescued from an abusive home and was going to be put down because there was no room for him at the shelter. What started as a foster quickly became an adoption because we knew he needed our love and help. He was highly reactive and terrified of almost everything-- people, sounds, other animals, etc. It was almost impossible to calm him and get him to stop barking. We started at PCOTC and tried two different instructors, who were great, but there was no difference in Julius's behavior. I'm grateful we didn't give up because once we found Betsy and Alice, everything changed for the better. They understood him on a completely different level than other instructors. Their support and encouragement are what made his progress possible. After one year of their weekly classes, Julius has become his best self!! People think he's been medicated or simply a different dog because of how much he's changed!! He now gets excited to go to class, see all his friends, and show off his outfits. We couldn't be happier that he finally feels safe and comfortable in his own home. These extraordinary ladies deserve a RAISE and the fattest bonus because they helped us save our fur baby. Even though Julius doesn't need much training anymore, we plan to continue with Betsy and Alice's classes because we are beyond grateful for all they've done and enjoy watching him improve. So much love and appreciation for them both; thank you for working a true miracle

We recently adopted a 2 year old Coonhound, a total sweetheart, but stubborn as only a hound can be and without any prior training. I mean, he didn't even know how to sit or take treats when he came to us. On the plus side, he has zero aggression in him. It was amazing to see how Jeanne, a supposed dog expert, became completely frustrated with him. When he refused to walk with her, she pulled him on his flat collar until he fell over and then started walking, effectively dragging him by his neck while he was lying on his back and was completely helpless. She stopped before I could get to my phone to take a video, but there were several witnesses whose mouths were just open. My 5 year old son was completely traumatized and still talks about it. She called my dog a "turd" and repeatedly jabbed him on the nose to get him to follow her commands. At some point, she pulled so hard on his leash that he just slipped out and RAN AWAY while being handled by her. I mean, let that sink in for a while, I could have lost my dog while in training with him, had the doors to the building been open. Her method of teaching can generally be described as a lot of leash yanking and aggressively yelling. I sent her a text asking her not to cash the check that I had written for the entire 6 weeks course, informing her I would not return after the second session and demanded a conversation about a refund. She did not call me back and just went ahead and cashed my check. Is my dog maybe just a total untrainable nightmare of a beast that cannot be handled any other way, you ask? Indeed not. We got a new trainer, and it has been an absolute pleasure working with him. My dog is learning at lightning speed, and clearly has so much fun training. But I strongly recommend to stay away from this particular dog school. They are cheap, and you do get what you pay for.
