The salon is clean, and they are polite. However it's very frustrating to ask for a service such as dip nails (which they offer) and they don't have someone trained on the service working so they pressure you into acrylic. Then you end up with a clearly crooked nail and they tell you it's you finger that's bent not the nail. I got a face time from my 16yr daughter asking me if I knew a way to fix her nails because of her experience here. Her nail was crooked like a badly glued press on nail. She said she had asked them to fix it and this was it fixed. She didn't want to cause a scene, the language barrier didn't help and they don't offer refunds and to add insult to injury They say the accept credit card have the machine but ask you to pay cash instead and pull cash from their ATM that charges fees. read more

The decent prices are enticing but don't get sucked in. If you get stuck with someone bad, the experience sucks. I had gel that needed removed and instead of soaking or drilling them, she used her own nail to dig under the loose gel and rip off strips of gel that was still glued to my nail! Not only was it painful but that's going to end up ruining my nails. I asked for a French nail, and normally the tech applies multiple coats of white polish on the tip to avoiding chipping. She only did one translucent layer so I politely asked for another coat- since it was literally see-through- and she said "no, I'm applying two layers of clear coat". I'm paying for the service, and I get told no when I ask for the bare minimum. I'd rather pay 40+ for better customer service. FYI- it's the next day and my French is chipped. read more

So I made an appointment and showed up before my appointed time. I was seated 30 minutes after my appointment time and then ignored for 25 minutes on top of that. The lady who did my nails seemed very annoyed with me and rushed. I didn't even get the massage you're supposed to get after a manicure. Her gel polish was also very sticky and clumpy and I knew it wasn't going to turn out well. And sure enough, when I get home, my gel completely peeled off like a sticker. However that tells me that she didn't prep my nails well enough. Would not recommend. The service is terrible, they don't prep nails correctly, and their products are expired. Overall, the experience was just "okay." We were visiting from out of town and called 2 days in advance for 3 manicures/pedicures for 2pm. When we arrived, we signed in and still had to wait 40 minutes until start of service. There is nowhere to sit inside the salon so they have you sit out in the mall walkway at tables/chairs that go with the pizza parlor across the way. There was a constant wait and one lady left in tears (not sure what happened), all I heard is I've been waiting for 2 hours. While I do believe making an appointment helped, it clearly did not stop them from overbooking or rushing services. The pedicures were good, but don't pay for the deluxe ($50 + another $15 for gel polish). The massage and hot stones were laughable. The gentleman who did my pedicure did a nice job and I was pleased with the nails. I had dip with gel polish for my fingers and the lady who did my fingernails did a wonderful job. She was meticulous and I loved the service. The ambience overall in this salon is very busy, the people working there speak their language all the time with very little English, customers seemed rushed through so they can make another buck. The owner, a lady, was starting my gel soak-off and stopped to look up her stocks on her iPhone. Nice to see she had $52,000 in Bitcoin. She could not have been phased by me sitting there as her customer. Clearly, I was not her priority. She was busy ordering others around and checking her cell phone. The salon seems dirty overall. Dust from products and drilling all over things. It doesn't look like things are dusted/wiped down very often. The prices seem high for rural PA. While all their signage says only gel polish is allowed due to COVID guidelines, I feel this is a way for them to jack-up the prices. There's no difference in the use of gel vs regular polish. In fact, my mother-in-law only wanted regular polish and was able to get it. The signage could be updated, or they will leave it to be sneaky to make an additional $15 a customer. There is an ATM located inside the salon and they ask you to use it if you can instead of running a card. Another way for them to save money on services fees. Instead, you pay the ATM fee and give them cash. While I could have said no, I used the ATM just to be done. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of good Yelp reviews for any nail salon in this area. I'm glad my nails weren't ruined, but I wouldn't return and I wouldn't recommend anyone to this salon. read more

This place is a huge disappointment!!! My daughter made an appointment to get her nails done for 3pm. I dropped her off at 2:45 and returned back at 4:15 and she was still setting there. She asked several times when were they going to get to her appointment and they kept putting her off to the point where one of the owners told her that this lady was next because she is family... The man who did my nails made me very uncomfortable. he asked me if i was spanish, and when i said yes, he asked if i knew what "mamacita" meant. very confused as to why he asked this i lied and said i didn't know. he then told me to go home and ask my dad what it means. he was laughing about this and his two coworkers beside him did not do anything about his weird, disturbing comments. i'm not the only girl who has had an experience like this here. to the owner, do better. don't let employees talk to people like this. i spent $55 to sit in a chair for an hour feeling uncomfortable and wanting to leave. read more

They almost never follow the sign in sheet directly. A group of four showed up after me and around 6:00 3 seats opened up. I went and asked how long it would be since I waited an hour and twenty minutes - they had a discussion and the group after me was taken because it was a group and more money at one time. Mind you also while I was waiting a single seat opened up and someone that came after me was also taken. So really weird experience. I went there with my cousin, 2 pedis. Got seated at 1117 and they started right away with my cousin. Noone came to me until 1225. My water actually got cold. Two ladies came in around 1150, got their pedis and moved onto nails while I sat there and watched. "Fine maybe they had appointments" I rationalized. Finally some super sweet, quiet girl comes and starts my pedi. She was very meticulous albeit super slow. We finally get to the end of the pedi and she paints my left pinkie toe when some guy comes and takes over for her. He didn't like her work, took off the polish and went at my toes again. (I admit I did think she left the nails a little long but it wasn't such a deal I would have complained) Anyways, it's all fine and good except now I'm on my second hour of just sitting in the chair. Its 130 and my cousin has to work at 2 so we are getting a little anxious, we just assumed almost 3 hours was plenty of time to get a pedi. Silly us. Up until this point I would have given 3 stars because well the service wasnt bad, the 2 hours was, but I could rationalize the wait if I tried really hard. But this is where it gets shady... It comes time to pay. I tell my cousin I'll just get yours, we're in a hurry now every second counts. He tells me 70 bucks I hand him my card. He says "cash only" I look around. There is no cash only sign, but there is a sign that clearly states you accept Visa and Mastercard. Never once were we informed that it was cash only. I look in my wallet and have 39 dollars. I tell my cousin "sorry I can't get yours" He then points to a ghetto atm and tells her she can get cash. I'm still trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. "Maybe their internet is down" "Maybe Visa and Mastercard systems are down" So my cousin goes to pull out cash and it says "connecting to internet" then I think "wait, we were on the wifi it must be Visa and Mastercard that's down" Anyways, she jacks up her account somehow and can't pull out cash. Oh no, what will we do? Man behind the counter says "Fine, you can pay with card but I'm going to get in trouble" WHAT!?!? I just handed you all the cash I had but you can take my card? I pay and we leave. Let me preface this ending with both the quiet girl and the man who finished my pedi and we paid were both very nice BUT what kind of shady human is running this joint? The ONLY explanation of this I can come up with is the owner doesnt want to pay the percentage credit card companies charge and wants to get some extra bills from the jacked up service charge on the ATM. If you want to run your business as cash only then that's fine but YOU HAVE TO LET PEOPLE KNOW AND NOT ADVERTISE THAT YOU TAKE CARDS. PSA be careful going to New York Nails & Spa. I will not be taking my service there again. Alan was the one who did my nails and i know others in there remove acrylics like this too. He didn't soak my nails or drill then down just proceeded to clip them with nail clippers and put HIS OWN NAIL under my acrylics and rip them off my natural nail. After he saw my nail bleeding because he ripped my natural nail off my skin he said "what happened?" and tried to glue it back down. he then asked why i was getting my nails off and i told him because ive had them done since november and i think its time to get them off along with me starting a new job which consists of hands on work with residents. He then proceeded to tell me that my nails are thin...they were very much thick and healthy until he ripped them off. I can't get my nails done for prom or even paint them until they heal. Filthy, they used the same tools on everyone without disinfecting. It took 3 hours for two of us to have our nails done. We stayed with our feet in water for 30 min until they could get to us. Their nail polish selection needs to be updated. Three of the nail polishes I chose were dried out. Very poorly run and very unprofessional staff. So disappointed! Don't waste your time or money! I had white acrylic nails done. The older guy who did my nails was somewhat nice to me. When he first approached me he was playing some game on his phone. That was fine, but as he was doing my nails he was still playing his game. Around 5 minutes later his phone stopped working and he stopped doing my nails for a solid 10 to 15 minutes trying to figure out what happened to his phone. Afterwards he did my nails, there ended up being little brown specs on my nails and I wasn't happy about that. He never asked me if I liked my nails or if he could fix anything. I went for a pedi, we got there, my 2 friends and I, there was no one there. After we sat down, a ton of people walked in. So of course, they felt the need to hurry. They rushed through everything, hurried us over to dry our toes, then we walked up front to pay. I has 2 marks on my 2 of my toes. I paid first and sat my tip money down, while I put the rest of my change away and waited for my friends to pay. When I returned the next day I was told again that they were busy and again not one person was in this place. When I mention to him that I had been turned away now twice, he got belligerent and told me get out and go somewhere else. 7 yrs later..... a new location in the mall.... same crap job Went in this afternoon for a pedicure. The first thing I noticed was the nail polish. Nothing was organized, the color selection was awful and there were definitely some questionable brands of polish. The guy that did my pedicure was rough with my feet and I don't think he spoke or asked me anything the entire time. I'm not looking for a conversation, but maybe you could ask about the service you are providing? Overall, it was a lackluster pedicure where we sat awkwardly in silence. If you like having your feet manhandled while being given the silent treatment, then look no further!! My friend had a slightly better(?) experience. Her guy asked her questions and was even going to put a design on her toes.... until he said he would be back in a few - for the polish to dry. He got caught up in the manicure he started while she waited and then the guy who did my pedicure rushed her over to the dryer. She didn't even get the design or a top coat. I got a french manicure, and was gestured over to the driers with no setup or help, and smudged one finger but didn't want to wait even more to fix it. I have visited this salon several times with mixed results. The staff is generally pretty friendly. I get manicures using dipping powder (i.e SNS, although they use an off-brand) and had several times that my nails were perfect and a couple times when they were not set or finished correctly. Attempts were always made to fix this, but the results were not up to my expectations on those occasions. Wait times here are atrocious. I was left once left with my hands soaking in acetone for over an hour and what should have been a 1 hour service ended up taking 3 hours. The language barrier is often an issue here. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars!!! I normally do reviews. I get my nails done biweekly faithfully from this company. 3 days ago I went and got my nails done, the very next day one fell off. I wasn't mad I went back today to get it fixxed. When they fixxed it they couldn't match the color so I asked how much it would cost to get the others done the color they thought was the same but wasn't. She said don't worry. I go to check out they tell me they are charging me 20$ to get ONE NAIL fixxed. I'm beyond upset. To be a valuable and faithful customer for as long as Iv been and to be treated so poorly is mind blowing. Not even taking into consideration that I watched the older gentleman fix a girls nails beside me and charge her NOTHING!!!!!! Let me start by saying that I regularly come here. I always get a fresh pedi and mani every couple weeks. Nails are usually very well done but it's not worth it to even come here. They charge you ASTRONOMICAL amounts for any and everything. They don't go by the prices on the board at all and just charge based off what they want to charge you, I'm convinced. There is one male working here who flirts with literally everyone and it is SO annoying. They're all very slow workers and know very very little English. There's also one lady who does pedicures and digs in your toes so far they will bleed. Every time I come here my nails and toes are cut up and quite painful afterwards. I honestly don't really have any complaints about this place. I started getting my nails done here in July before my wedding & I also got my toes done, both were beautiful. I only had one instance where I was a bit unhappy & that was with one guy with really long thumb nails & I kept getting jabbed with them. He also cut three of my fingers that day. Okay SO, I have literally never written a bad review before. I never thought it necessary and just shrugged off bad experiences but I am STILL heated about the experience I had at this place. First off, I am a 21 year old female who regularly gets her bails done. I've been getting my nails done for years and never have I had such an awful experience. My boyfriend got me a gift card for this nail salon. I had never been here before but I was appreciative because I love having my nails done up. I walked in and as soon as I did a man said something to me and I didn't hear him so I walked to him and the woman working and the salon yelled "HERE" and pointed to a chair. The lady also getting her nails done looked at me with a "what the heck" expression on her face mocking how rude the female nail lady was. Then further on I was getting my nails worked on and the man doing it was rough and kept throwing and yanking my hand as it it was a rag doll. The things he was doing were almost painful, some things really were. Finally to top off everything they put the wrong color on me. So I paid 30 dollars to get gel on my REAL nail (THATS IT and I paid that much) and it wasn't even the right color.
