This review is for Dr. Zargaroff - I'm pretty upset with the service. I came in for a routine OBGYN checkup. Yelp and website are extremely misleading as they have a professional website with lots of stock images. They reference a OBGYN "group" but the office is small, dingy clinic with one male doctor. They have a wonderful toll-free number and it makes the place seem like a wonderful group of doctors. There is no mention of Dr. David Zargaroff on the website. Website also only references abortion/aspiration services and does not offer further details. I called to request a standard OBGYN checkup - std check, IUD in place, healthy sexual organs yadda yadda. Made an appointment two weeks prior for opening time (10AM). The first sign you see is a "no eating or drinking sign" Staff behind the desk munching on very strong-smelling Burger King. Very rude reception. Waved a finger and told a VERY pregnant woman to go to room 2. Where is a nurse to walk her or show where it is? Bedside manner of staff is lacking and facilities are small and basic. I showed up at 9:50AM. The doctor arrives in the clinic late at 10:20AM. By the way, the website also says "Run by women for women" - so wow was I surprised when the doctor was a man. Sees one woman who arrived PRIOR to myself and 2 parties who arrived AFTER (a mail woman with whom is probably a regular and a couple who was... "late" for their appointment?) Excuse me, but I think I made my appt at 10AM when you open? Am I just a walk in? I was finally led in at 10:45/50AM. Blood Pressure machines falls from the wall to the floor... okay... *POKER FACE* Doctor himself was professional. Found nothing wrong with me. IUD in place. All good. BLAM WHAM SLAM - 3 months later slaps me with a surprise bill for a snogram and checkup that my insurance apparently didn't cover. I was skeptical at first to book an appointment on line. Especially to terminate my pregnancy. Between my own personal issues of not knowing if i was making the right choice or not. Well I made the appointment anyway. I'm so happy I found this place. The staff was nice. But the tech there is amazing she held my hand the entire time. It's a very small office but you don't feel uncomfortable. Cozy. The doctor made me feel relaxed, explained everything to me in detail. Made me feel like I can trust him. Dr.David Zaragoff is a good doctors. Very efficient, quick, gentle and helpful . His staff, specifically Rosa was nothing short of amazing. Rosa was very efficient in making me understand my options as far as insurance, finance , pricing, explanation of various options I might want to choose. Also Rosa comforted me, making me feel supported during my procedure and spoke with kindness and no judgement passed. read more

This review is for an aspiration procedure done at seven weeks. The office is a regular ob/gyn office. Thankfully, there are no crazy protesters hanging out front. The waiting area will have women waiting for all different types of services including abortions. The staff is all female. The doctor is male. I called for an appointment and was told to walk-in when they open at 10AM. When I arrived, I filled out some forms, gave them my insurance information and waited to see the doctor. Within 10 minutes I was in an exam room where the doctor performed a sonogram to confirm my pregnancy. He gave me the option of the abortion pill or the aspiration procedure. I chose the aspiration because I wanted to get it over with right away. I was told that I would be IV sedated and that my insurance would not cover that and I needed to pay $360. I don't actually know for certain if my insurance would or would not pay for it, but I wasn't going to argue because I did want to be sedated and I was glad my insurance was footing most of the bill. I was taken to the procedure room and knocked out with an IV and woke up with severe cramping which subsided in about 2 minutes. I rested and drank some tea and left with some antibiotics and a follow up appt. The entire process was one and half hours, in at 10am out by 11:30. I went home and rested for another 2 hours and I went about my day regularly after that. My husband was with me or in the waiting area the entire time. I called 3 other places before choosing this one. The receptionist is not very helpful at this particular clinic never informing me that I should not eat or drink 8 hours before. I only knew that for calling around other places. Otherwise I could not have been IV sedated. I think my conversation was less than 1 minute actually. The only reason I choose this office was because their website says they can finish the abortion in 1 to 1.5 hours. All the other places I called would run urine tests, blood tests, rh tests that would require me to stay there for 4-6 hours in a crowded stressed out waiting room. I hated the idea that I would be part of an assembly line. The Doctor is knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend New York OB/GYN for a relatively quick and painless abortion. Their website is a bit misleading, this is not a 'private clinic' where you won't bump into other patients, but other than that the information is accurate. read more

I read a lot of terrible reviews about Dr. Zaragoff and his staff. I personally had a great experience. I was seen fast. The MD was knowledgeable and sensitive to my concerns. When I needed to speak to the doctor outside of the office he called me back almost immediately to address my concerns. While esthetically the office isn't the best, I don't go to the doctors office for décor. I would recommend this doctor for all of your female needs. And as far as receiving medical bills, LADIES do your self a favor, DONT BLAME a doctor for that! Blame your selves for not doing research ahead of time. I always contact my insurance carrier to make sure the doctor and all possible procedures are covered and in network. You cant blame a physician for "YOUR" insurance not covering items like a sonogram, which is a must for certain procedures!. Overall I would recommend this Doctor. read more

I had to come for an aspiration and the process was very fast and painless which was great. Heavy bleeding for a few hours then no bleeding in my experience. Healing process was super quick, less than a day. The issue was that the Doctor is a liar. He said my insurance didn't cover the blood work to prove I was indeed pregnant so I had to pay out of pocket. My insurance covers it. The second time he blood work on me and didn't charge me.. Second of all when I checked my insurance payments he lied and said I came a four time and luckily my insurance denied the payment. That is FRAUD! To make matters worse for my follow up I was still pregnant, it turns out I had an ectopic pregnancy and did not even need to get an aspiration. He gave me an injection instead. I was so early so he could of waited to make sure what I had. He never saw anything in the ultrasound the three times I went. Isn't that a sign, something is wrong. Horrible. read more

My girlfriend needed a termination of pregnancy. After a friend referred me, I came to New YOrk OB/GYN Associats. Not only was the place very nice and clean, the MD was very knowledgeable and I could tell very experienced. He explained the procedure step-by-step and i was allowed to be with my girlfriend in the procedure room. The whole procedure was very short and took only 20-30 seconds. I have known this dr for 9 years. I was there for an iud insertion and I spent all the time reading about what a painful procedure it is I was very nervous and scared. I must say that the dr was very professional very patient and gentle. I didn't feel a thing. The staff got on my nerves because there is a new girl at the front that does not know a thing. Plus they where not so good in terms of the privacy of the patient speaking right at the front about what you where going to have done and about payments. But the doctor is fantastic very experienced. I would highly recommend him. read more

Sadly, I had come here for an aspiration procedure. I'm going to start with the pros. The wait to be seen to procedure time were fairly quick. Especially considering that they did not require an appointment. The MD was kind enough to spare me the image on the sonogram, and had spoken to me step by step throughout the procedure. Here are some of the cons. I was initially brought into the room, asked no questions The assistant put sonogram jelly on me, left me in the room and told me to wait for the doctor. Prior to the procedure no vitals were checked, no tests were run. The MD ended up asking me what blood type I was. I had to tell him I was a neg, so I could get my rhoGam. Moreover , I had called at least 3 times and not once was I told not to eat 8 hrs prior if I choose to have the procedure. I had done my own research. As I mentioned, he was very thorough through the procedure, told me everything he will do beforehand and did try his best to reassure me. My next gripe is immediately post op. I was feeling extremely nauseous. I told the MD and the assistant. The assistant offered me a basin in case I get sick, The doctor was nowhere to be found. Then I was left alone for 15-20 min. For all they know I could've been passed out. No one would've known. I finally gathered enough strength to get up and get dressed. Just as I finished the MD walked in and appeared to be surprised by my presence. He escorted me out and had told me to wait in the waiting room for my prescription. But I believe he saw how bad I looked, and escorted me to his office where he proceeded to give me my prescription. No follow up was scheduled. So while the MD was certainly knowledgeable of what he was doing, being in the medical field I believe that many of his practices were not up to par with appropriate medical care. read more

Women, don't waste your time here!!!! Consider Yourself Warned. I came in for an aspiration procedure with Dr. Zargaroff. Their website is totally misleading. They say that they only schedule one appointments at a time. LIES. I had a 10am appointment and 5 minutes after I came in another woman came in and I heard her say she had a 10am appointment. Then I was taken to to the exam room where my vitals where taken and then to another room where the nurse set me up for the ultrasound. The MALE doctor walks in (mind you they boast that they have all female staff) and says "hello", looks at the chart and proceeds to pour jell on my belly. No introduction, nothing. He confirms the pregnancy and goes about my options. I opted to do aspiration because that is what I came for. He pushed his agenda for sedation but from what I read about this particular procedure sedation/analgesia is not typically necessary. They brought me back to the waiting room to pay additional money for being 3 days over 7 weeks. Then they asked my Rh factor but I didn't know it so they brought me back to the exam room, took a drop of blood and looked at it under the light with a clear slide. When she finished, she rinsed the blood off the slide the with plain tap water and put in back in the drawer where she took it from. Are they crazy? Even criminals know that water does not wash away blood. How do I know that the person they tested before me with that slide did not have HIV???? That's cross contamination. DISGUSTING. They took me back to the waiting room and gave me tylenol and had me sit for 25 minutes. Good thing I kept an eye on the time because they certainly weren't paying attention. The nurse sets me up in the procedure room with my legs up and all and walks out telling me she will be back with the doctor. Mind you I'm undressed in stirrups with my private parts exposed while I'm waiting. No bueno. Doc walks in and proceeds. Super rough with the speculum. He gets the cannula and everything into place which was painful but bearable then the suction parts begin. I was crying. The site advertises the procedure as "simple","mild" and that they use "state of the art Pro-Vac Aspiration System". MORE LIES. The suction machine was from the 1900 and made a very loud whirring noise that scarred the bejesus out of me. And it hurt so bad. I screamed out "doctor it hurts"!!!! He paused the suction and stated "what do you want me to do?" I'm in stirrups with instruments inside me and halfway through the procedure. There was no turning back at that point and I just told him to finish. I was deep breathing and clutching my finance's hand praying for it to just be over. This was the most traumatic experience of my life. I should have never come here. Their website is completely misleading. I'm still in shock over what happened. I have never written a review on yelp before but I had to warn you other ladies out there. I was in pain and there was no compassion from the so-called nurse or the doctor. Where's the care in the practice? There is none. And this so-called nurse who I don't think is really nurse made it seem like its because I did not choose sedation. It's not your job to judge me over my decisions. You should support your patients no matter what decision they make otherwise you don't belong in this field.
