You have the ease of several comfy and accommodating lounges while you wait. Access WiFi and have tea until your provider is available. The assistant and tech staff are the consummate professionals. Today was my first time seeing Damilola. I came in to have fibroids checked. The tech did the ultrasound giving me a play-by-play of what she was doing and why. Damilola came in shortly after. Her temperment was very calming. She introduced herself and explained my results, answered my question and expressed care for other health issues I'm currently navigating. I visited this practice over a year ago to confirm a pregnancy. Since it was very early, the doctor asked me to come in multiple times over the next two weeks to "confirm" the pregnancy, which seemed excessive. Each visit included a urine test, internal and external sonograms -- all of which felt more like requirements than options. It quickly became clear that they try to schedule as many appointments as possible, likely to bill more. Even after my pregnancy was confirmed, they kept asking me to return -- sometimes every other week -- for unnecessary follow-ups. Each visit involved at least an hour-long wait. I was initially told the practice was in-network with my insurance. However, after a few visits, I started receiving unexpectedly high bills. I was then informed I needed to sign over the insurance reimbursement checks directly to them. I did this for a few visits, but eventually stopped going because it felt like they were more focused on billing than care. Even after providing them with all the checks I received, I'm still being sent bills. I contacted their billing department multiple times -- first in November, when they told me it was just an automated message and not to worry, and now again, only to be told I need to contact my insurance and have the checks reissued. Save yourself the stress and go with another practice. This one has been nothing but a hassle. read more

When I found out I was pregnant, I didn't have an OB/GYN doctor (I had one but had just found out she no longer did obstetrics). I was scrambling to find one when I came upon Viva Eve in my search. Their office is very clean and their front desk associates are very friendly/helpful. Scheduling appointments were a breeze. Waiting time is sporadic - the least I've waited was 15 min, but I've waited over an hour and a half for a visit once. There are many providers that practice here, and every time I visit I see a new provider which can be a nuisance when you have to give a summary of your health history each time. But besides that, the providers are very thorough, they listen to my concerns, and answer all my questions. They also had me come in every 2 weeks, which I feel like it was a bit excessive, but nice if you want to get an ultrasound done every time to see the fetus. As much as I would've liked to stay with Viva Eve for my pregnancy, i ultimately switched clinics bc their affiliated hospital is Mount Sinai West (Midtown/UWS Manhattan). Coming from Queens, it was a hike to get there for scans (NT scan and 16-20 week anatomy scans) and also thinking in the future of when I'd give birth, it's over an hour drive to get into the city (more if traffic). read more

WORST EXPERIENCE! This place is not in network with health insurance and they charge upwards of $500 for a routine yearly exam (including labs and bw). The nurses there are so poorly trained, it took 3 PAINFUL attempts for them to TRY and draw blood from my wrist, only to have to the NP come in and draw it at the 4th attempt Don't waste your time. Doctor Gopal and Gohar are great medical professionals as well as the nurse practitioners, you can tell they honestly care for the well being of their patients, - that being said , the billing department is a complete mess. Unfortunately I have not returned to this office because of the continuous issues I experienced. This is an out of network medical office so my advice is to keep ALL receipts of payments and any copies of paperwork you give in because you will need it at a later date. I can't even count the number of times I got letters and calls of owing payments that I'd taken into the office months prior , then I was stuck for months making calls and drafting emails between the office and labs they used, to get the issues resolved- it was just exhausting. Last Saturday, May 18, 2024 I had a 230 appointment and didn't even leave the facility until 5:45 PM. It was my first time in the facility and I never been to a OB/GYN that long. I suffered from fibroids and I saw this company online so I figured because they specialize in the UFE procedure. Let me see what it's all about. I was even in there to talk about having another child with my fiancé. One of the young doctors is very knowledgeable and I appreciate it her but then the visit be getting to go down word in a spiral. They told me I had to do an ultrasound even though I already told him I did a transvaginal ultrasound where my doctor are at in Pennsylvania . They wanted to see about my follicles, etc. I proceeded to get blood work done for some reason, the phlebotomist cannot find my vein or withdrawal any blood. Then I second one came in after I was about to leave my fiancé and I she was able to get about 3 1/2 valves of blood, but the visit was overall annoying. The first lobotomies was supposed to go get me water and never returned. Then they had this person who handles the billing on site I don't know if she seems a little shady talking about in network and out of network etc. and if I receive a check in the mail send it to them, etc. I don't know ! I told the front desk receptionist I wanted to speak to the manager about the treatment that I received. I was due to get a phone call at 12:30 on Monday afternoon but never received that call. So I guess Tuesday, May 21, I will be hunting down whoever is the on site manager. There was so many discrepancies there that day. I've never been in the doctors office three hours long that was crazy. I got poked in separate arms and I was actually hurting after the visit. To me, it was false advertisement because I know on the commercial I saw all young lady getting tea, etc. I wasn't offered tea. I don't recommend this facility because they were not very transparent on pricing before I got there. I asked them if they were out of net work they told me no, and it turns out that they were indeed out of net work. They charge a tremendous amount to go visit for some thing. That's a well visit and would've been free for me had i gone somewhere else. There were no tea and refreshments like you see on Instagram. I also was hit with $100 bill when I showed up and my well visits again are free. Parking is difficult. And the ladies in the front all had very long nails and we're very busy chatting with each other and not paying attention. I had to stand there for a long time just to get their attention and they let me know that I had to give them $100. I just don't understand why prior to the visit I wasn't told this. I am not happy with the experience. We unfortunately had to change from this office mid pregnancy, due to where my wife wants to give birth, since Forest Hills Medical is not affiliated with the Katz Womens Hospital LIJ. We have many, many friends that birthed there with amazing experiences, however I felt compelled to write this review. Forest Hills Medical Services is an amazing place. From day one they have been fantastic in quality of service and care. It's safe to say that all the Doctors, Nurses and support staff are kind, diligent and patient. For such a special time in our lives, it is great to know that there are wonderful establishments such as FHMS, that one can rely on, especially during these hard times. Their Mount Sinai network affiliates and referrals are amazing as well. All great experiences. It's just sad that we may have to settle for a sub par obgyn just because we want to birth at Katz. I've been researching and many offices do not come close to FHMS. If you don't mind birthing in the city and want top tier quality of care and service, please consider coming here. At first glance, Viva eve really seems like a stellar clinic, and like they provide adequate medical care. I feel compelled to share my experience here so that other new and future patients take into account how this clinic might make them feel. I found out I was pregnant very early in my pregnancy (about 4 weeks along). I appreciated their willingness to conduct blood tests and ultrasounds until they were able to confirm my pregnancy (at about 6 weeks, after hearing the baby's heartbeat - though the tech went about this so quickly I was unable to appreciate hearing my baby's heartbeat for the first time). Partners are also not allowed in the room, which always bothered me because I was exposed to a minimum of 3 people at every appointment. An oxymoron as it relates to COVID safety when their reason for not allowing partner's in the room was to limit contact. From the beginning, I was clear with all providers that I was considering transferring my care to a midwifery clinic. With the unpredictability of COVID, and frankly even before COVID, I have never had the desire to give birth in a hospital if it was not medically necessary. Even though I was discouraged from having a home birth by one of the providers I saw (typical of OBGYNs, even though hospital births in the USA have the highest mortality rates when compared to other 1st world countries), I was honest and transparent in saying that I may transfer my care while in my first trimester. On January 26th, I emailed Viva Eve forwarding a medical transfer of care document, providing my midwife's email and fax number. I had emailed Viva Eve before this and had received a response quite quickly. This time around, I received no response. I called two days later to inform the clinic and spoke to someone at their front desk. While this person didn't exactly have an attitude, she seemed very disinterested and judgmental about me transferring my care to a midwifery clinic. She claimed that my COMPLETE records, including ultrasounds, would be transferred. I had a phone appointment with my midwife the week after and they did not forward my records. I called a second time - this person, who I believe is named Emily, was really nasty and disrespectful over the phone. No apologies were given about MY RECORDS not being transferred, implying I did not request this. I had to point them in the direction of my initial email and phone call. Furthermore, she refused to release my genetic testing results to me, claiming I had to speak with the provider first. I accused the clinic of gatekeeps records and results that they would not have if it wasn't for me consenting to my blood being drawn. Phone call ended with her claiming my records would be transferred and that she would message the provider about releasing my results. MAGIC - 5 minutes later I received my genetic results. NOTE: Clinics are NOT allowed to gatekeep results. WE HAVE RIGHTS AS PATIENTS. I sent another message to the practice on February 8th, which was the same day as the second phone call, because I did not trust the woman I spoke with. After speaking with my midwife yesterday, she only had incomplete records and did not have reports on the FOUR ultrasounds performed on me. I was planning on calling today but my ancestors must've bothered their spirit because I received a message today with, what looks to be, my complete records. HOWEVER, this person claimed that they did not have my midwife's information and could not fax it directly to them. So irresponsible, unorganized, and just straight up NONSENSE. This dragged on for a little over two weeks. For me, it felt like I was being retaliated against for advocating for the medical care of myself and my baby. If I had not continued to follow up, my records would have never been transferred. This feel like this was very deliberate and retributive behavior on their part. This put extreme and unnecessary stress on me and my baby. I haven't been able to enjoy my pregnancy these last two weeks because of this. Before all of this happened, I was considering continuing my care with them post-partum and for general gyn care. After this? Absolutely not. They will no longer have me as a patient. If I could go back in time and take back ever walking into this clinic, I would. read more

The front staff and the midwife I saw were kind. I went in for an annual check up and to get information on starting a family. I give it 1 star because of the nurse that drew my blood. She only had on one glove and used her bare hand to clean my arm with the alcohol pad. This is very unsanitary for both of us. read more

My initial review was very positive. But now that we are moving/ switching doctors and I've had some time to think, I definitely see some improvements that could be made. In the short time I was able to visit Dr. Gohar prior to and post op for endometriosis removal/ dermoid cyst removal, he was to the point and informative. Although not my surgeon, his referral to Dr. Nezhat probably saved my fertility- the biggest plus coming out of my situation. Being an out of network doctor, unless you are an insurance whizz, it does seem confusing when trying to figure out your billing. Although the initial consultation is nice when you arrive, my questions were still not answered until the office manager had to call me back. My new doctor is in-network and gives me peace of mind regarding this because it's just a lot of unknown that they expect you to "get". Luckily my mother is in insurance billing for a dentist or I would've had no clue. If you like a doctor that is soft spoken and has a direct bedside manner, then Dr. Gohar is for you. I personally do prefer someone more excited about my care and well-being, instead of being so "doctory". I've been spoiled by our Primary Care doctor for years I guess, so much so that my husband and I are actually friends with him now. Maybe it's an Irish thing? Alas, if you're looking for an environment that has staff that does not laugh then this is the place for you. Unfortunately, it always seemed like the desk staff was in a terrible mood. Maybe I'm a naturally bubbly person and going to a "lady doctor" already feels uncomfortable and uninviting. So I prefer a more personable desk staff and a little more empathy. Lastly, the latest transvaginal ultrasound I had took so long, was incredibly uncomfortable, and the technician didn't say a word to me while I was crying the entire time. I also have a pretty high pain tolerance. If that situation wouldn't have taken place, I probably wouldn't have knocked off another star to be completely honest. But I was waiting for almost 45 minutes bum naked beforehand in a cold room 1 week post op. So, there's that. If you are unsure about your insurance situation/ have a gut feeling that it just isn't the right fit, it isn't. I'm from the Midwest and I was raised to find the positive in everything. There are aspects to this practice that might be right up your alley. But it just isn't the fit for me or my future children. My husband accompanied me to my latest appointment and he usually never has an opinion about anything- I've never heard him get more into protective dad mode on the car ride home in my life. LOL. My experience at Viva Eve as my obstetrician has been borderline unsatisfactory. First of all, nearly every visit incurs AT LEAST a 45 minute wait, which is ridiculous. And rather than monthly visits for my low risk pregnancy, they had me coming every 2 weeks (for insurance pay maybe?). I didn't feel the doctors or nurses provided any new information during visits...I tested for mild anemia and they didn't recheck my progress for months. They didn't have reports pulled up and ready to review during our time together, oftentimes having to leave the room and say "let me check." They should be prepared. Visits were always a perfunctory "how do you feel, any pain, any bleeding? Everything looks good." The only thing is I don't have another facility to compare to, but for me, this has been a terrible experience. I will not be coming back for my next pregnancy nor can I honestly recommend this place to anyone else. Update: today's wait was 1 hour 35 minutes. They should be ashamed. read more

Called in today to make a annual regular check up and i was very disappointed to find out the charge for a single visit with insurance is $450 for a visit which a sonogram is included and nothing else so be aware if you have to do a blood work you will be billed separately you will receive the results and in two weeks you will have to pay $450 again to get your results and you will also have a bill waiting at home for your blood work! Bedside Manner: I came here to see Dr. Sheryl and she was very thorough and clear. She listened to my concerns and made me feel like she understood me. The technology for ultra sound is amazing! As a women of color it is important for me find doctors who look like me and I was happy to have her talk to me from that perception and cultural perspective. Ambiance/Cleanliness: The bathroom and waiting area was free from debris and clean. The patient room and tools looked clean. There are well managed garbage bins and gloves everywhere. Staff: Bernadette Was very clear about what my insurance covers and what I can expect as far as payment. I really appreciated the staffs down-to-earth candor and thoroughness. She also found an open appointment for me the next day and responded to my emails over the weekend. She is amazing. Wait Time: In at 6:01 and in my Uber 6:44. This is my new found Doctor for life. I just came back from Viva Eve after a friend highly recommended Dr. Gohar. I got to my 9am appointment 25 minutes early and said, "I'm here to see Dr. Gohar, 9am appointment) and the receptionist Emily charged my card (because I have Medicaid which they don't take, so I had to pay $750 out of pocket). The gave me a ton of paperwork to fill out (it took me 30 minutes at least). Another patient who was scheduled for after me (though I heard her say that she had a 9am appointment -- why did they schedule us at the same time?) somehow took no time to fill in the paperwork and got to go before me. I cancelled work for this appointment and I work nights, so I had gotten no sleep. I had to teach at 11:30am back in Queens and worried if I'd make it, Emily said I should be out by 11am (for a 9am appointment?). Then finally a very nice Medical assistant came out and saw me maybe around 9:30am or 9:40am. She said I'd be seeing Dr. Gopal today as she weighed me and I stopped her and said, "Wait, I'm here to see Dr. Gohar." and she said, Oh, Dr. Gohar had to delivery babies today, so he couldn't come in." They didn't even bother to message me (they have an automated messaging system that reminded me when I made the appointment and also the day after -- so why couldn't they have just texted me that he wouldn't be able to come in that day if they have all that automated tech capability?). So not only did no one call me in the morning at 8am when they opened (at least they would have gotten me on the subway and saved me most of the trip), but they tell me when I'm literally being weighed and they had already taken a urine sample. I wasn't going to throw away $750 on a doctor who wasn't recommended. So I had to reschedule for 8am the next day and Emily didn't even give me any written confirmation that I had already paid and that I had already filled out the paperwork. I was very paranoid that they'd make another mistake. They said I was lucky to get an 8am appointment because someone had cancelled. After getting home, I realized how unfair it was to have to pay full price for the inconvenience they caused me and my partner. I will have to cancel work again tomorrow morning (as an artist, I work nights and weekends). I called and talked to a Pamela (Emily did not pick up) and explained what happened and the best she could give me was that she would talk to her office manager and have her call me back. The best apology they can give is to give me a discount tomorrow for the horrible inconvenience and loss of work and also disruption I have caused my partner as well. If they give me any discount, I might consider giving a better rating, but if not, please go elsewhere for your OBGYN care! read more

I couldn't get a hold of anyone to answer my call. I rescheduled the appointment on ZocDoc and it was confirmed for next week. In the evening a rude receptionist called and told me this office doesn't accept my insurance! She was extremely rude and hung up. When my wife and I first came to this place we thought it was bullseyes, nice place, free water etc. But it stopped there the nice seating and free water is were it stops. 1. Especially if my wife is having her first kid at 40. This is not a common pregnancy. They explained that next appt we will see the doctor. 2. We made our appt for 5pm but didn't get seen until 552pm then waited in the room for another 30 mins and didn't leave til 7pm... really..???3. When we came back for our next 3 appts we saw the doctor on our second appt another nurse practitioner on our 3 appt and another nurse practitioner on our 4th. So a total of 4 different people my wife saw in 5 appts, seriously come on how is that even safe practice. I understand seeing the different doctors you will be on call for the delivery but not even a doctor did we see. FINALLY, and this is where I draw the line. After switching doctors and going to somewhere else that is more profesional. We got see by our doctor and he started to read my wife's chart. Come to find out they sent over the WRONG CHART!!! The persons chart they sent over had some personal stuff going on with her that shouldn't be disclosed. This is unacceptable and not only is it a HIPA violation, but a lack of disrespect and invasion of privacy. Viva eve is a place where you go to get the card you need for your upcoming baby and they don't take it serious. Do your self a favor and find another place. Even if you have to drive a bit further think about your child. I am taking legal action with this company due to HIPA violation. Omg I was so impressed today. So I found this Location on Yelp and from the great reviews I decided to take a chance and see for myself. I was in need of a second opinion so I decided to try this location. The outside of this place does it no justice. I couldn't believe how modern it was on the inside. From the moment I walked to the front desk I was greeted with a nice Hello! The receptionists explained everything very clear and concise. Once I was seen by Dr Cheryl (by the way she is so nice and made me feel so comfortable explaining myself) she explained all steps that would be taken and it was great. I also met two other very sweet young ladies Paris and Nicole who were so nice and helpful. All of these women made my 1st time here a good one. I definitely will be back. Please don't let the exterior turn you away it. I've been back recently and I must say the staff is great. Meka(I hope that's her name) every time I go she is pleasant and make me feel so comfortable and I thank her for that ! The ultra sound tech was so gentle and made sure I was ok the whole time. There are so many more names that I wish I could mention. but overall such a pleasant staff. A young lady with glasses who took my weight and vitals so nice. Update: Dr. Gohar really is a patient and caring doctor. He called me to follow up on my bad experience and we had a very nice talk. Although I will not be returning because I've already selected another OBGYN that delivers closer to home, it's comforting to know that he really does care and he puts in the time and effort to make sure his practice could be the best it could be. I really loved this office and the care I received from Dr. Gohar until I started trying to get pregnant. Sheryl started seeing patients there around the same time and I was never completely comfortable with her. Dr. Gohar's bedside manner throughout the early weeks of my pregnancy were very technical and not emotional at all, which is what I was looking for. He wouldn't confirm my pregnancy until I was 7.5 weeks pregnant, not even with my blood tests. Then at that time he didn't even provide me with any information on my pregnancy when he did finally confirm. As a patient there for over 2 years, it was a very hard decision to make but I finally decided to leave and have another OBGYN in the area care for me during my pregnancy. I loved the office and the availability, but Dr. Gohar and Sheryl were not the right choice for me during my pregnancy and made me feel very uncertain and uncomfortable. read more

I want to take the time today to thank the extremely helpful office staff of forest medical services especially Bernadette who went above and beyond in handling my phone call this morning and explaining to me and my explanation of benefits she very was insightful and helpful and she allowed me to relax and not panic about any bills that I would receive being that Dr Gohar is out of network with my insurance I have Oxford freedom and the services I was told would be covered adequately enough under my plan which was out of network and very good news to hear and that I should not be expecting any bills behind it I also have to highly recommend Dr Gohar he's an outstanding gynecologist and a very compassionate doctor. Being that I am in the healthcare field, I find it very hard to find doctors that have the compassion that Dr Gohar has he is a very rare find and why I keep coming back as a patient. He cares about his patients and is not just about volume and revenue like some doctors !! When you meet him you'll see exactly what I'm speaking about yes the labs might take a while for the results to turn around but this office is extremely professional and handles your health with extreme care. I would highly recommend Dr Gohar and his team to anyone who is looking for a gynecologist. Happened to stumble upon this GYN office. Amazing service. Very professional. The staff, from the front desk check in to the medical assistant are amazing. The office is beautiful. Very relaxing. The bathroom has a heated toilet! Recently renovated. With wifi and lemon water available in the waiting area. This will be my primary GYN from now on. Also. I found Viva Eve when I was in severe pain from what turned out to be Shingles last year. Prior to Covid I really wasn't a person that went to the doctor due to severe anxiety. After my first visit I scheduled my annual exam with them. My original doctor moved so Dr. Gohar saw me for my next exam and has been my doctor ever since. Everyone who has spoken to me about their GYN exams were horror stories, I was ready for the worst, but I have had nothing but excellent experiences with Viva Eve especially with Dr. Gohar. The nurse practitioners and admin staff have been exceptional. I did have a scare this year that (thank goodness) turned out to be benign but my mind goes to worse case scenario and I go into panic mode. Even though I'm full of anxiety every visit the staff is kind and calming. Dr. Gohar is very clear on what is going to happen and what I should expect. He is attentive to any discomfort or pain. He even dealt with my mild-hypochondriac anxiety attacks and listened and answered all of my concerns. I am absolutely so so grateful for him. I recommend Viva Eve to my friends. I feel bad that not everyone's GYN is as caring as Dr. Gohar. Women's health care shouldn't be a traumatic experience. read more

DR. Gohar is very thorough and patient and he is willing to answer all of your questions. The staff is also very nice. I'm a millennial so I appreciate the fact that he conveniently communicates through a hippa compliant online service about your results. My first visit, and YES ... I am super impressed.Let's start with the cleanliness and the up-to-date office and equipment, ONE word - OUTSTANDING! The courteousness, friendliness and efficiency of the staff, TWO words - INCREDIBLY FANTASTIC! The wait, THREE words - WHY NOT WAIT? When we are out shopping we take our time to make our purchases, hours! So in like manner, since this is our health we should be more understanding and patient knowing that we will get top notch treatment and attention. The Doctor, Dr. James Gohar, ok, I can throw a whole book of good vocabs at him as I was utterly impressed by his patience to Listen to my situations, explained my problems, give me temporary solutions until all is well with me. I gave birth to my daughter with the help of Dr. Gohar who is an amazing person and doctor. His practice is the best. I felt great going there when it comes to the staff they are friendly, attentive and helpful in anything that is needed. I was nervous about giving birth but from the first visit here I was reassured that it was going to be all good. I am happy to have gone through my pregnancy here and if in the future I have more kids there is no doubt in my mind that i will use Dr. Gohar. read more

Dr. Heather was very professional yet down to earth. I trust her analysis and recommendations. I didn't feel rushed. Blood tests and ultrasound were given in office. From the outside, the place looks like a little whole in the wall. However, once inside, it's high tech luxury. Staff was professional as well and wait was less than 25 minutes. Definitely will return. Shout out to Semika who also made me feel comfortable and painlessly drew my blood. read more
