I have been shopping here since I was 10 with my family. I'm turning 20 this year, and let me tell you- For middle school events, highschool graduations, weddings, dances, parties, job interviews- there is always something. I can't afford to just buy a suit for every occasion (who can?) but one suit from here is enough for most things. The staff are pleasant, not pushy, and helpful. Would recommend anyone to go here tbh. I buy shirts, ties, and yes even shoes here. They got a lot- and if you're bored and wanna walk around fancy clothes, they're great for that too. Do NOT use this place! We were treated horribly by the salesman there. He did not order the correct suit for my husband for his brother's wedding and then gaslighted US when we went to pick it up. The suit did not fit in any way. It's the used car lot of suit places. Alterations were awful for the entire wedding party. Ties, belts and socks were missed and they misplaced one groomsman's suit entirely. read more

DO NOT USE!! They told my sister THE WEEK of her wedding that they were short three ties for her wedding. Even though they had had the order for months. Very unapologetic. Additionally, a pair of suit pants that was ordered for the wedding came in so small that it was unable to be altered to fit - EVEN THOUGH, the guy who ordered them went in to be fitted. They had one job. And they failed at a most important time. Do not give them your business because you cannot count on them to do what you paid them to do, or care that they screwed it up. read more

I've bought 2 suits and a blazer from here over the years. While the staff acts very uninterested in whether or not you buy anything, they are generally pretty helpful. Prices are good. That's the end of the positives. I wear a size 38 R which is smaller than most but I would still expect to have more than 2 options for a standard navy blazer. There isn't. Luckily for me (or so I thought), one of the options was a Michael kors blazer on sale for $149.99. Perfect fit. I bought it. The first time I wore it I noticed the buttons. They appear to be decent quality but the logo is what was interesting. It's a boxed in C with ferns crossed at the bottom going up each side. Clearly the chaps logo. Interesting but I've never had a Michael kors blazer so maybe, though highly unlikely, they use those buttons and it's just coincidence. So I google it. I looked at every navy blazer, suit, and sport coat I could find and did not see anything with these buttons but instead saw on all of them a very different button. I looked at a chaps blazer and it looked exactly like what I have... I have no further proof but it looks to me like they got chaps blazers and sewed a Michael kors tag on the inside. I got the receipt and took it back. The guy working swore that Michael kors uses these buttons and showed me the other "Michael kors" Blazers they have and they all have the same buttons but at that point I didn't want it anymore. If you can do it on one jacket, you can do it on 20. Maybe I'm in the wrong here but so far all the proof says I'm correct. I have pictures but it appears I cannot attach here. I hate to see that happen but I will not be back. Awesome experience. They tailored the suit for me. Great price for a suit, shirt, & tie. The suit does not feel cheaply made, looks great, and fits me better than any I have had. This is a horrible company with no ethics. The owner of the company requires customers to pay upfront for special orders and will then make them wait weeks before he will order the merchandise. The prices are low because he orders defective merchandise without disclosing it to his customers. The owner refuses to pay employees for weeks or longer if they quit and/or does not pay all wages owed. I would never shop here nor would I recommend this company to others. read more

HOLY POLYESTER! New York Suit Exchange is a lot like other discount suit retailers in that you can find some great deals if you know what you're looking for, and get into some trouble if you don't. There are some real finds in here - some of the Mantoni suits are nicer than the green-label Ralph Lauren suits that most department stores stock - but, for the most part, you get what you pay for. If you're looking for a suit that you're only going to wear once or twice a year, then by all means - this is the place to be. You're not going to find anything cheaper anywhere else, and the salesmen, while pushy at times(commission!), cater specifically to men who might not be very knowledgeable about suiting. They're very helpful and very informative, and a lot of their suit specials include a shirt and tie, so you can get a whole setup all at once. If you wear a suit every day, however, and expect a certain standard of quality, you need to know exactly what to look for, or you could very easily end up with a polyester, four-button, wide-leg mess. The shirts that they stock are all off-brand and pretty low-quality, but they have some decent everyday ties and slacks (again, as long as you stay away from the polyester). You're not going to get a knockout suit here, but if you're looking for something that looks decent without breaking the bank that you can wear out without breaking your heart, this place is worth a visit. read more

Excellent service! Prices and package deals are unbeatable, I have been purchasing and wearing suits for 10 years and have spent an average $300 per suit, only $149 with shirt and tie hear. Being 6'5 selection is limited on hand for MOST places but they had an excellent selection. Also purchased my tux, wing tip shoes, shirt, vest, tie for about $155....can't be beat!!! read more

Do I have to give them even 1 star? What an 'adventure' it was dealing with this company. Just not a pleasant experience, at all. Sure, they might be knowledge-able in the suit department... but when it comes to fitting, pricing, altering, ordering, delivering on what was promised, the list goes on... The bride and groom opted to go with a nice Michael Kors suit, and we ordered 11 in total - including a childs. I was appreciative of the volume discount received; after it was all said and done - each person paid ~$290 for the suit, tie, belt, socks, shirt. But when it came to getting everyone sized, the ball was dropped during the ordering process as many suits came in completely the wrong size - and when gents went to go pick the suit up... it was suit only, some got socks, others got belts. Buyer beware, I am sure you can have a good experience if you buy off the rack and only have to enter the store once or twice... but I had to make the trip at least 7 times, same goes for the other groomsmen in terms of picking up what was missing or getting a new size - heck, they even messed up the color of the shirt 3 times. read more

This place is a joke. I got my suit and shoes for a wedding I was in months ago. When I showed up they gave me a 46 waist when I'm a 32 and told me they couldn't do anything about it. They finally altered it for $230. They HANDED me the pair of shoes 3 weeks ago. I wore them 3 times (because I bought them) and when I showed up at the rehearsal, the wedding party told me they were the wrong shoes. I ran up to the store in between the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner. They were going to make me pay for the new shoes even though it was THEIR error. We spoke with the owner and he then said I had 2 options. I could pay $40 for the new shoes or give him the wrong ones off my feet and take the new ones. The owner made me walk out of the store BAREFOOT! They told me it was my fault that I didn't return them before even though they handed me the shoes for the wedding party. I would NOT recommend them for any services. They have messed up the entire wedding parties alterations and shoes over 10 times. They are too prideful to admit their mistakes and too cheap to make it right. If you want some peace of mind in your wedding then do not work with this store. They will make your wedding 100 times more stressful. read more

Bad experience today:: was told on the phone by an older lady with an accent, Hispanic or other that they would hem my husbands pants. She understood that I did not buy them there. She quoted me a price . I gave her my name. When I took the pants there the next day, I told the young black lady at the desk who immediately let me know she was the manager that I had spoken to someone yesterday and she said shes not here today. I said ok and told her what the other lady had told me. She said no we wont hem new pants or pants that have nor been hemmed before. We dont want to take the responsibility of messing them up. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So i said to the younger black woman who appeared to have an attitude, so if I take them home and hem them and bring them back so then you will hem them then? She said no we only hem old pants. I said so if they have been hemmed before and are old then you would hem them? She said no we only hem pants that are old that you had bought here. Sorry but I'm confused. I told her since she was the manager that she needed to train her people of the correct things to say on the phone. She said I will. Needless to say I was super mad. I told them we had bought many suits from them and we wouldn't be back to buy anymore. This is piss poor management. Bartlett location. read more

Don't waste your time and money. My husband is a groomsmen but we don't live in the state, so my husband gave them his measurements and they sent the completely wrong size. We had to pay an extra $120 for rush alterations because they didn't get it shipped to us until a week before the wedding. My husband tried to call them to see what they could do and they were extremely rude and unhelpful. Now it's the day before the wedding and they don't even have the grooms suit done yet. Avoid the stress and go elsewhere. read more
