Just come early since it closes pre-game. Food factor: Of course. Avocado Bites, Po' Boys, Crispy Maple Cheicken, Big Mozz, MQRib. You'll drop a few large, but when in Rome. Move freely about the cabin factor: Cruise all four levels for some different views closer to the action, where you might get to see a Yankees fan help a player "catch" a foul ball by handing a souvenir ball to him to end an inning versus Cleveland. No that could never happen right? Little kid souvenir factor: Definitely the Hall of Champions, but generally this is the place where you stare in awe at everything versus the "hands-on" experience. Finally got to check out the new stadium. I will say that the commute from our hotel was only a subway ride away, no transfers required. Long lines to enter because bags had to be checked. It was 4th of July weekend, so maybe they were being a little more cautious. It is big and beautiful and much more open than the old stadium. Great food selections but my food was not even warm so I prayed I would not get sick. I was surprised that with the amount of money this stadium cost to build, there are obstructed view seats. Putting TV screens on the wall really does not fix the problem, especially with sun reflection ( as we all know from trying to take photos with our cell phones). Ticket prices are steep and spacing for comfort stations is a little on the far side, especially since this is a new stadium. However, at least I can say I have now been to both the old and new Yankee Stadiums. read more

With the emergence of the YES network the brand is even stronger and the rich get richer. With the recent retirement of Derek Jeter there is really no link to the past of homegrown talent. Around here when he would come to bat, you would hear the "Voice of God" (Bob Sheppard) announcing "Now batting #2, Derek Jeter, #2". Rebuilding? If the Boss was still around he wouldn't allow it. On a personal note, some of the best memories of my young life was going to Old Timers Day at the old Yankee Stadium. With my brother, father and grandfather. When it used to be Yankee Old Timers against the rest of the league. Then after that day's game you were allowed to walk on the warning track and exit the Stadium by Monument Park to catch the 4 train. Memories that will last a lifetime. Went to the new stadium, beautiful! Had a good time. The security is quick to stop any rowdy fans, maybe a little too strict. But I understand to stop issues before they escalate. Met cool people sitting around us. Had really awesome chicken sliders and garlic fries! I hear the stadium is easier to navigate in vs. the old stadium. But we had troubles finding our seat. The add drama to Baseball and are probably the most polarizing sports franchise in the history of modern day sport. My first trip to NYC in July just wouldn't have been complete without a visit to Yankee Stadium to watch the Yankees. My tickets were the $120 ones which include entry to the Jim Bean suite before, during, and after the game. As you can see from my pictures the seats were dead central and although they were on the third tier, the view was just about spot on. The stadium is impressive both on the outside and inside with plenty of merchandise sellers and food stalls, while the Jim Bean suite was a nice place to chill during innings. I'm not a huge baseball fan, and due to the length of the game (37 hours?) and the fact the Johnny Rocket stand didn't sell the original burger I won't be in a great rush to catch another game when i'm in town. It is worth a visit, and you may get to catch a great game, but you probably won't be blown away by the experience. read more

First of all it was great to see the Yanks whoop the BoSox 11-1 with both my sons first time at the stadium. Secondly, I have to thank the staff in the luxury seats area. It was sweltering outside and I had my 11 month old sleeping in my arms. I was a little concerned he might get too hot so before anything could happen I sought refuge in some air conditioning somewhere. I found the suites area and asked them if I could hang out for a few minutes just to cool him off. They told me to take my time, handed me a bottle of cold water and were extremely polite. I stayed about 15 min and went back to my seats. All is well and we were all smiles after the game. read more

I see Lou Gehrig's monument and I think of my mother fighting and losing her battle from that disease. This could very well have been my last time coming to New York for awhile. I made the trip with my father and son. 3 generation of Yankee fans. We saw one great comeback against the Angels, one really bad loss and one rain out which we were prepared for. Hey! its New York in April. One day great weather and the next horrible. Makes me love LA! As my father continues to fight Parkinson's Disease, I do not think he will be able to travel many more times in his life, which made this trip even more special to myself and my son.
