After a heavy night I took my friend here for brunch. On the outside it looks closed. Walking up the stairs exposes a open kitchen and large seating area with cacti everywhere and a cool kat clock over looking the place. The service was enjoyable from start to finish..90 percent of staff including the chef looked genuinely happy to be working there dancing to the music smiling as they cooked and served. It gave it a buzz! The menu consists of well..a American diner..from the special board I chose the maple pecan nut shake and the Benny crab cakes.. my friend had the spinach and poached eggs dish with fresh mint tea. The Shake was huge and yummy and while I waited for my food I kept seeing indulgent stacks of pancakes being whisked away. My poached eggs were oozy and perfect and the crab cakes.. well very crabby! And rich..to break it up there was water melon on the side which refreshed the palette. My friend really enjoyed hers too. I really want to come back here :( please extend your opening times!!

Barely any sauce. The ribs were decent - definitely not fall off the bone type, but okay tasting. I asked for sweet potato fries, even with an upgrade charge, but alas, the service wasn't the best. So I got the regular fries - which were probably my favorite part of the meal. They were the thinner kind so not the typical "chips" - which I like! The BBQ sauces - 5 choices - I didn't care for any of them. The tangy coleslaw also wasn't a hit with me. $20 or so for the ribs/wings meal & a large Pepsi max.

Luckily I had booked on a Friday night. As we were walked to our table we were informed that there was no jerky or draft beers (same 5 years ago!) Anyway I chose the luxurious salted caramel and choc shake with rum (£8) which was divine and pawed the menu. They had drastically changed this. There are now more veggie and fish choices. Apart from the starters I didn't find the mains that inspiring. Anyway we decided to share some bbq wings for starters and himself had the brisket burn ends for main while I had the pitmaster for £18. The wings arrived in a tasty sauce and were fairly large. When the mains arrived my heart sank. I had to double check mine..it had the ribs..cheese sausage..meaty beans..and another pot of beans but no pulled pork or crackling ..my boyfriend's was dry brisket on soggy bread with greens..the burnt ends were nice. Anyway he left most of his and to be fair they were really understanding and the manager sat down with us to discuss the food. In the end my boyfriends meal was taken off the bill ans mine halved in price.. the way it was handled didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth and would try it again in the far future.

(Although their entire rail for both window seating sat empty through the duration of my visit) I ordered the mushroom and truffle oil poutine, their classic burger with bacon and a pint. Poutine was decent, though some of the bites of cheese curds (not traditional squeaky curds) we're still cold through the center .. gravy mushrooms and truffle made the dish decent The burger was quality just overwhelmingly messy and fell apart prior to a few bites in. Also the menu stated briosche buns, and it was served on a sesame bun The fries were quality though be double or triple fried.. I enjoyed them. I had my 2 year old and my 10 year old with me as we were over from Ireland as a family to watch the man utd game and the lady behind the desk told me sorry they were full and it was bookings only this was at around 9.30 a.m. I could clearly see empty tables and I explained we were just trying to grab some breakfast before our flight but she said no they were fully booked, I then left the cafe and went online and checked the booking and could see multiple spaces so I booked a table for 5 online, my wife and daughter joined me, when I walked back in and said "Hi I now have a booking " the lady looked at me and said I'll have to check does this booking stand cause sometimes you can make a booking then later it can get cancelled. I was very confused so she walked off for a couple of minutes and then came back and said "OK I've managed to get you a table" as if she was after doing me a favor, when I went upstairs there was 5 free tables and 2 downstairs. I was fuming but my wife begged me not to say anything so I didn't. 1. Why could they not just give me the table the first time. 2.Why did she have to check could I come in after me making a confirmation booking online 3. I had 3 young kids with me and I had to stand outside for no reason in the freezing cold to make an account to book a table as I knew there was space but she would not let me have a free table 4. I spent nearly 65 pounds on breakfast but still left with a bad taste in my mouth I would not recommend this Cafe to any family because it was either not family friendly or she didn't like us cause we were Irish but she purposely went out of her way not to let us on

To be held weekly, every Saturday from noon until 10pm, the space at Alphabet Brewery has the advantage of being completely covered over - so as the wintry days approach, both traders and punters will be kept dry! North Western Street is in the grittier part of the city, shall we say, running alongside the impressive railway arches leading to Piccadilly station. The front area outside the brewery is where you'll find the street food traders every week (there'll be 5-6 with some firm favourites on regular rotation along with guest traders appearing too). Inside the brewery itself (which is double height and spacious) you have the newly-built cash-only bar, serving Alphabet's beery wares - and soon to have guest breweries and tap takeovers. Unisex toilets and sinks are upstairs (there's a disabled toilet next to the bar). The vibrant murals on the walls are by local artist Hammo (who's also designed all of their beer cans) - check out his website: http://www.thehammo.com/ Two long rows of bench seating along with smaller tables means there's plenty of room to sit down if you get down here early enough! By mid afternoon it was truly bustling. Less than a 10 minute walk from the station, this is a must visit for locals and visitors alike.

Yes - at first you might come out of the back of Piccadilly station and wonder quite where you're headed (this area was/is the red light area of Manchester but with HS2 coming soon and this area marked for redev it is probably gonna be a trendy part of town in a decade from now) As with all the GRUB events there was great food, drink and music. Plus the atmosphere always kicks ass. On this occasion the gyoza stall and MacDaddies (mac n' cheese) went down well with our table. The Alphabet session pale at 4% and £4 a pint went down just as good. Looking like a regular place we'll be heading to now it's on each Saturday and only 5 mins walk from the station.
