Updating my review 12+ years later: Dr. Bailon still remains the absolute best dentist our family has ever had. We've since moved 80 miles away to the Central Valley and after trying some new local dentists in the area, have decided to return to Newark Dental Care because nothing compares to her attention to detail and bedside manner. I am giving them a one star. The service was good but the aftercare not so much . Here are my issues... I was told they would check to see if a deep cleaning was approved for me and I have yet to hear back regarding their call to my insurance. My appointment was on 2/5/18. I received a statement from my insurance companies I have dual coverage and this joint charges over 2.5k in services to my provider for a 40 min appointment! Can you imagine?!?? Be careful when trying this spot out. Their charges are too rich for my blood. I called and left a message on Friday 2/9/19 to discuss the fees and no one has yet to respond to me either. Lame x2 they sure were super friendly and responsive when I tried to go in their and call as a new incoming patient. I'm going to pass though. Taking my business elsewhere. read more

It's valentine's day and I went in for cleaning as usual, but when I left they gave me a rose to give to my wife (who is also a patient). Dr. Bailon was referred by my friend. I wish I went to her before for dental treatment. I am very glad that I do now. She develops a very good rapport, cares about her patients and strives for excellence. If you don't have dental insurance, no problem - they are flexible and can make monthly payments. She won't stop or tell you that she can't do any dental dental treatment if you don't have insurance or money. She analyzes everything before she decides what to do next - if you don't need it then no treatment unlike other dental offices that will immediately bombard you that you need many dental works with high costs of dental treatments even if it is not necessary. Office - nice, clean and organized (even the bathroom is very clean and modern hahaha), feels like a family-oriented place Staff - very courteous and friendly Location - situated in Newark area close to 84 bridge. I was searching for a dentist because I needed a lot of work done. I work in Newark, so I wanted a dentist I could go to on my lunch breaks. But I am terrified of dentists! I called in asking questions & was greeted by a very nice lady who answered all my questions & after letting her know of my fear of dentists, she reassured me that Dr. Bailon is very good with patients who have a fear of dentists. I let her know of my insurance, she said they accept most insurances, in & out of network (they also are contracted with most HMO plans & have great rates for CASH patients, i referred my younger brother who has no insurance - $90 for New Patient exam, cleaning, & xrays!!!) On my arrival for my first visit, the receptionist was friendly, greeted me with a smile & told me her name! And fully explained all the paperwork I had to fill out & answered all my questions. She was even kind enough to offer me anything to drink before I was seen. I was in the waiting room less than 8 minutes! LOVED THAT! In the chair, the assistant, Mario (yes! i love that they introduce themselves!) asked me about any concerns that I have & asked about my general health & reviewed my health history (its nice to know they genuinely care about getting to know me!!) & then took my xrays (digital - less radiation!). Dr. Bailon then came in, reviewed my chart, asked me about myself, my health, & what my concerns were. She explained everything she was doing & what instruments she was using. I told her of my fear & she told me that anytime I needed a break she would let me. She was very gentle with her cleaning. I felt she was very thorough with the exam & cleaning & reviewing of me xrays. She gave me a straight forward diagnosis on what I needed to be done & prioritized which treatment should be done right away. She explained the process of the next treatment too. Her front desk, Jerlene, even explained how my insurance would cover the treatment I needed. She didn't pressure me too! She said when I am ready to make the appointment. I made the appointment soon because I really liked how gentle she was. She's also very funny! Her light-hearted humor made me more relaxed too! I really enjoyed coming here & now I'm less afraid of going to the dentist. Dr. Bailon & her staff definitely make you feel more like family or a friend rather than a patient.
