Beware! I have been getting pedicures every other week for over a decade and got my first NASTY toe infection here. The lady cut thru my skin so deep, it hurt like crazy! When I told her it hurt, she just laughed and kept going. Now I am on antibiotics, hoping I won't need surgery. Do yourself a favor - run the opposite way!!!! read more

In short - eh. I came to get a gel manicure and eyebrow wax, and was pretty happy with the no frills eyebrow wax. However, my manicure is a different story. It's been a day, and the manicure has started to bubble - and even walking out I realized that the gel was out of the nail and on my skin. I came here as a walk in with my friend. We were immediately seated. There were about 6 seats for manis and 6 for pedis. We sat on massage chairs so I received a nice back massage during my pedi. The only thing that was eh was that the water was lukewarm to cold (I'm used to warm water). I like that while I was getting my mani, a machine was there to heat up my feet and dry my pedi. Had a pedicure and eyebrow threading here. Pedicure was okay - typical Newbury street experience, though less crowded and much more expensive. $30 for pedicure only. I bet manicure would be okay as well, but do yourself a favor and NEVER THREAD YOUR EYEBROWS IN THIS PLACE. I currently have the worst eyebrows on my life. The girl who did them had NO IDEA what she was doing. She was extremely slow, only threading a bit (painfully) and then started to correct herself with tweezers. Ahem, if I wanted to have my eyebrows plugged, I'd do it at home, if I request threading, I'd like to have them threaded, please. On top of the awful quality, she has the decided to inform me that "I have a lot of baby hairs". NO KIDDING. I had no idea. I never looked in the mirror before. I'm very aware of my baby hairs, which is why I like my eyebrows threaded - it is the only method that quickly and rather painlessly gives me the look I like. The result was awful. My shape is non-existent, my "baby hairs" are still there, and I feel like I have thicker eyebrows than I came in with. Go to Thread & Shape in Harvard square or Haute Couture in Kenmore instead. read more

This is my go-to nail salon for mani/pedis and eyebrow waxing. Nothing lavish but they do a great job.

This salon offers great customer service for a very reasonable price. They did a very professional job and I am definitely going back! They also have a couple of childrens chairs and it would be alot of fun to take a daughter or granddaughter with you. read more

Just had a great mani/pedi for $37! The store was clean and not overcrowded or noisy. My technician was pleasant and asked if I wanted clipping or filing on my nails and feet and was really precise with my cuticles. She also tested my nail colors to make sure I liked them. The pedi, which I think was just their basic, included a salt/sugar scrub (couldn't tell which) and hot stone massage. Both together took about 75 minutes. Service was decent - but overall quality of the manicure was poor. I had called ahead of time , asking for pricing and was told it would be $26 for a gel manicure. I ended up paying $32 (w/o tip) - I was not informed of the increase until after everything was done, and no up-charge prices were listed next to the polish colors. There are also dust particles in manicure and she was unwilling to fix it. The gel polish has a sticky finish even after my own alcohol cleaning - proving that the gel polish is OLD. These people are the worst. Have a huge sign on the door indicating a 15% student discount for "waxing" and a few other services. First, I had to wait for a waxer to come over from another salon. This has happened to me before so I was irritated, but oh well. Then, upon completion of my service, I mentioned the discount at which point the woman looked at me like I was insane. She kept yelling "no discount, no discount" and demanded the full price of the wax. I mentioned the discount on the door and she continued yelling at me. Eventually I got fed up and paid her the full price which calmed her down. The same situation happened to the girl who attempted to pay after me. The discount is a ploy to get people in the door, but my guess is there is no real way to get it. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

First time visiting Boston and I was lucky to find this nail salon. I got a mani (gel) and pedi and I loved the whole experience. I even got a neck and shoulders massage. Clean, inexpensive and you get way more for your money than you do at other salons. read more

I wouldnt go back here even if it was free mani and pedis. Calling the people next door everytime a costumer walks in while doing my nails is a big no no in my book. Besides the fact its probably not sanitary, i'am still paying for the brittle nails they left me with 2 weeks later because of the lack of care they had. Went in and was the only one there. Was rushed like crazy. The woman was hovering over me when I was picking out a color and was definitely the most rushed manicure I've ever had. Wasn't even a good job. She had me pay before she started painting which was normal but didn't let me see the price. She just had me sign....weird. I didn't have cash on me so I was about to run to the ATM for a tip but I had a weird feeling and checked my credit card. Go figure, I was charged $17 when on the front desk it clearly states that a regular mani was $14. Went straight back home and didn't even bother with a tip. Ridiculous. I have been to this place a hand full of times and every single time they charge you a different price for your gel nails. I'm sorry but a customer that comes back to you should indicate that they like your nail salon and you shouldn't try to scam them! I don't feel they value my service and I will not be back ever!!! Please ask them the price before you sit down and before they start to bs and make up stuff. Crazy all of a sudden they started charging you to take off your gel nail polish ... I went in to this shop two days ago to look at the prices because I was looking into getting gel nails. Their price for gel on natural nails is $26. It was a good price not to expensive like the other salons around. The staff are very nice and professional. They made suggestions on a better color that would be more suiting and not so sheer. It was all great. Very clean , fast , and relaxing. I even got a massage while I waited for my nails to dry. This is how the nails look after 2 days. I still have no chipping , or marks on my nails. One star off because I was pretty hot in the salon. We were the only ones there getting manis/pedis at first and didn't feel rushed or anything like that when other people showed up. The management before had let the place go so I was hesitant to go back but I'm so glad I did. I did end up catching a cold and noticed a scar on my eyebrow which came from the experience here. Downgrading to 1 star.

I gave it multiple chances and I'm done. DO NOT LET THEM WOMAN CLOSEST TO THE PEDICURE CHAIRS SO YOUR NAILS. She is rough. She is angry. She refuses to use an Emory board. She just lazily cuts your nails as short as possible with no shaking at all. Also she yanks and pulls and yells at you. Not a moment of relaxation. When I was looking at my nails to try to figure out if any where straight or fully polished she yelled at me grabbed my hand and shoved it in the dryer. The clincher for me was when she realized she got nailpolish on my skin she cut it off because remover is hard to reach. She is angry and terrible and the place has gone down hill. Try any other place. My nails actually hurt they are so short and jagged. Also I picked Lincoln park after dark. She lazily and sloppily put in 4 coats. It's black. It a cute fall color. When I questioned her she said it's a new color and has to be four coats. I guess the last decade of Lincoln park after dark wasn't real. I wish you could give no stars.
