So.... They're nice and my nails looked good for about two days.... But within the first week I had 6 nails chip. I work in an office and this never happens to me when I get dip powder. Ever. My nails usually grow out before needing to get them done again. I went back to ask and they redid them but with the same product and the same technique. I always believe in talking to a business before leaving a negative review. However, my second manicure is now the same exact way. And it happened within 3 days of getting them redone. Do not recommend for dip at all. read more

I live nearby and have been coming here for about 6 months. The salon is always clean and everyone is friendly. It's no frills but they offer just about everything (I get organic gel here) and do a great job! Linh did the pink nails I posted but everyone is very talented and accommodating, just be specific about what you want and speak up if you don't like a color or shape. I've never had an issue with booking an appointment for the same day but have seen folks turned away at the door (so call ahead). Also they close at 8pm, so don't expect them to take an 8pm appointment and be understanding that as a small business, if they are slow all day and cut employees early in the day, they might not be able to take you randomly after 6:30pm (again, make an appointment)! read more

I love Amy Nails because they are super quick and efficient. You can get a gel manicure in half an hour and it will be $30 which I think is fantastic. Make sure to tip in cash and get a punch card if you will be visiting regularly. Also, I have been building furniture and being pretty hard on them, and my nails still look fresh. read more

I would never come back to a place who wont even take you at 7:20pm for a simple manicure because apparently they were closed! I asked what time they close and they said 8! It's to laugh the laziness of this place. I can just imagine the quality of their manicures, if they can't even put the work for a simple manicure. Can't say I tried! To add more context, I stopped by at 4 to ask if they could take me later and they said yeah come a bit before 8, but I guess 40 min before 8 is too little time for them! Unbelievable read more

Don't judge, but came here for a mani pedi a few times. So friendly and accommodating. Maybe it is because of corona times but they always had availability for small groups which was very nice. Highly recommend for manicures and pedicures. read more

I have been getting my nails done for 20 years and have NEVER had a worse experience than this. My nails are so hideous I would've preferred no polish at this point. I would continue on about the lack of sanitation, management and old inventory. But my pictures say enough. read more

For all the nail salons downtown, I prefer Amy's. Having been a resident of the North End for 8 years, I had a lot of options right in my neighborhood. Now that I moved out of the hood but still work downtown, I've looked around at the downtown area spots too. Amys is the most consistent and clean of them all. Better priced, too. Shellac mani with a regular pedi $58. The quality is always spot on here. I've never had a messy or unsatisfactory mani or pedi here. They ask questions as they go to make sure you're getting what you want. There are 10 pedi chairs/baths and and 12 mani stations. Oh, and there's a wall of colors! A lot of OPI and ESSIE options here and definitely not all brand new or organizers but they have a lot! I always say if you are that particular about your polish, bring it with you! Most importantly, each tool comes out of sanitized, clean new packaging (like at the doc office). It's clean here, may seem a bit disorganized, but they have a good thing going. They do take CC. Tips cash only so don't forget to bring your tip cash! read more

1st time going in. Last minute appointment because I didn't have much time while in break. I only got a manicure and I am impressed at how thorough the nail tech was. I should have gotten her name. She was all business and cleaned up my cuticles smoothly. When she put on lotion and massaged my palms, I melted. I left happy. I will go back again to try for a pedicure. So happy I had such a wonderful experience here! My brother and I needed to kill time before the Celtics game and stumbled upon the salon- I had just recently taken off (ripped off..) my acrylics from my nail tech on cape, and my nails were horrendous! She cleaned them up, used their organic gel polish and they look amazing! I can't believe she got them to look so great, I was hopeless!! Not to mention my toes feel great, and my brother was impressed with his mani pedi from Hanna as well! Will be back! read more

The service was so wonderful. Really a great place for a pedicure and manicure. The nails look amazing. The only bad part was the wax. I don't think either of us knew how hot the wax was... now I have a pretty decent burn to my eyebrow. I would totally go back for a mani/pedi but probably not for a wax.. Hana was absolutely great! Walked in on a Tuesday afternoon and there was no wait. Some of the best gel nails that I've gotten while I've been living in Boston. All of the girls there were absolutely great. Very welcoming and seemed to know other customers. Seems to be pretty newly renovated and very clean. They put plastic over the pedicure tubs (a new one after each use), and open a newly sanitized package of nail tools in front of you when you sit down. Huge selection of colors, both gel and regular polish. This was my first time here and I will definitely be back again! read more

Well Amy's has an average of 5 stars, so when I was looking for another nail spot in the Boston area that wasn't overpriced for no reason, heading here was a no brainer! The shop is very clean, organized, nice and welcoming. The staff seems very warm as well. I stopped by on a quiet Tuesday morning for a gel mani. Wee did mine and she seems like an absolute perfectionist, which I love. Even when she fixed minor things like removing polish (very little) from the cuticle, she'd go back and make sure multiple times. I'm so happy with my nails! I'll keep you guys posted on how long it lasts. Update 8/8/17: My mani was amazing! Only reason I went in at two weeks was because I was getting tired of the color. This review is going to be long but I've been to this salon 4 times and each time I have left dissatisfied with the service. They are very close to my job so I would always go out of convenience because my regular nail tech is a bit far but this was the last straw. I went in for a simple color change. I had just gotten a new acrylic set the day before so I only needed her to file off the top layer of polish and apply a new color. Instead she filed off all of the acrylic after I explained multiple times it wasn't necessary because I had just gotten my nails done the day before. After filing off all of the acrylic on that one nail, she realized her mistake and only took the top layer of polish off of the rest of the nails which is all she needed to do. When it was time to apply the gel polish, she attempted to apply the color to the nail without reapplying the acrylic she had just removed. I had to tell her that she needed to apply a new layer of acrylic since the nail tip was completely exposed. The first layer she applied was so thin and only applied to the bottom half of the nail that the nail was bending in half. She hastily applied a second layer of acrylic after I asked her to and then proceeded to hastily apply the gel color, I presume she may have been frustrated with me at this point. When she was finished applying both gel polish layers, I stated that I didn't feel the polish had dried all the way and she wiped them with alcohol anyway and said "they just need to be wiped". I was completely put off by how she rushed through everything and I wasn't happy with the gel application but I didn't want to make a scene and I needed to get back to work. A few hours later, I noticed the polish was peeling off and I was very angry that I'd wasted both my time and money. I generally like to give establishments a couple of chances but I wish I'd never gone back to Amy's nails. In the past I've gotten a regular gel mani, an acrylic full set, a nail fix, and this last polish change. Each time I left unhappy so I would not recommend them for any service whatsoever. FYI they did not do the glitter nail seen in one of the pics I posted. That was applied by my regular nail tech who does amazing nails. read more

My go-to place for manicures. They charge $30 for gels which is I think is great for Boston. I work in healthcare so manicures wear away a bit faster for me but their gels always last me a good 3-4 weeks. The service is quick and friendly, they acknowledge you right away. I've never made an appointment and they always take me right away since they always seem to have enough ladies working. They are very clean as well which is always important when getting your nails done. read more

Absolute worst nail place I have ever been to. Rude staff that only care about money. They will sit as many people as possible when they can't handle it. I got a set of acrylics and 6 different people did my nails, they made me go around the salon to the next person and kept telling me to hurry. Paid the most I have ever paid for a bad job and even worst service. Would rate 0 stars if I could. Also they charge 5 dollars to cut cuticles! Something I've never heard of before and find ridiculous. Please don't go here read more

This place is all about speed and getting you out of the door. Went to have acrylics removed that they placed. Sat me Down and just ripped Them off! I can do that at home and destroy my own nails. The proper way is to soak them. I've gone about 5 times and hope it will be better since they are so close to home. But never again! Terrible rushed service read more

I've been going to Amy Nails & Spa for the last 3 years and I highly recommend them. The staff is always friendly and polite. When I moved to Boston I was worried about finding a place to get my eyebrows waxed and I'm so glad I found Amy Nails & Spa! They have always done such an amazing job on my eyebrows, so much so that people compliment me on them. I also get manicures and pedicures quite often, and they always look amazing. The prices are very reasonable for Boston. I live about 2 minutes away from two other nail salons and I still choose to walk the extra 20 minutes to get my nails done by them. I'm so glad I found them when I moved here! read more

First time visiting and I really liked it. Hana was my manicurist, and she was incredible kind and talented. She was quick but not rushed, and you could tell she was really great at her job. My manicure and pedicure turned out really well and I left feeling so relaxed! The salon was incredibly clean and nice. I really liked the massage chair, and there were a huge array of colors - regular and gel. You can pay with card but make sure to bring cash for a tip. The music selection was really nice - a light house mix. The location is really convenient to me and the value was great! I'll be back again soon. read more

Love this place! Came in today for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The front door was open and felt very inviting. The women working there were all very nice and friendly. Awesome little nail spot near north station. I came in on a Friday at lunch because it's the closest to my office and I will be back! I was seated for a manicure right away, service was detail oriented and I enjoyed the hot towel for my hands! You get a rewards card buy 10 get one free. This place is definitely one of the only spots in Boston I've found that gives a good gel manicure and pedicure for under $60 (gel is $28 and pedicure is $30). They give you a solid 5 minute massage on the pedicure and don't cut any corners. Everyone is also super nice and always accommodates any request I have. Only thing I'd wish they would change is how they paint on the gel polish so it would last a bit longer. Currently getting about 2 weeks without a chip. read more

Amy nails&spa makes me question whether or not the nail technicians are licensed. The technician used GLITTER GLUE to try to put on acrylic extensions, which didn't work. Another technician had to correct her by telling her that she was using the wrong glue and that she's supposed to use nail glue instead. They are also are unfamiliar with powder dip nails. They put GEL MANICURE as a top coat over my powder nails, which is not how powder dip works. The nails turned out uneven and lumpy. Don't be fooled by their price; cheap price comes with cheap service. read more
