I live in Texas and they are limited on the number of Newks they have there and none are in my city so anytime I come back to Mississippi to visit - I have to go eat here. Ordered door dash. Got 2 wrong pizzas and untoasted sandwich. Called and manager had attitude and guaranteed it was toasted. Drove out and she had pizzas waiting. Ive been out here for work the whole week and eating lunch here everyday. Its been amazing! I used the online ordering so that i could just quickly pick up my lunch which works great! One day I added salmon to my salad and picked up my lunch but the salmon wasnt included in my bag - i didnt notice until i got back to work so i returned after work to let them know to maybe have them refund that part of my order. Without hesitation, and unbeknownst to me they made me the order over again and gave me a gift card for my troubles. The consistency and quality of all Newks has definitely declined post Covid. This particular restaurant is in dire need of effective management during the lunch hour. The restaurant is seemingly busy and crowded during lunch. Upon closer examination you will find a sea of dirty tables. More often than not customers are standing around waiting on tables to be bused. While management can readily be observed chatting up customers or coworkers, frustrated lunch customers are wrangling for a clean table. Managemeant is in dire need of remedial training. Dirty tables equal frustrated customers and low profits. read more

The good: fresh salad and a really great pizza. The condiment bar is pretty cool and different- free breadsticks, pickles and peppers! The desserts looked good although I didn't try the homemade cake. The order was brought to the table and service was fast! This spot on Highland Colony is the Absolute Best!!! I have tried ALL of the salads and they are all delicious. Today, I tried the salad with the boiled eggs, loads of shrimp, etc and it was outstanding. I am also an expert on the brewed perfection of teas, and Newk's gets an A+ in that department too. When I arrived and picked up my to go order, I dropped and spilled an entire fruit cup. It is Newk's! A step up from McAlisters and several steps up from Subway. I find that almost all of the Newk's I have visited are very consistent. The employees here are nice, they keep their store very clean. I really can't think of anything bad to say about them, other than sometimes they might forget you are waiting on a to go order, but I think that depends on who is checking the tickets. They haven't forgotten that I have been there in a last couple of visits. Of note, I will say that the entrance to this entire shopping center is extremely odd. There just really isn't a good place to enter or leave. I know they did it for aesthetics, but sometimes function is much more important than form. Ok it's a chain. But it was close to hotel and had a diverse enough menu to satisfy a travelling family of 5. It was a new and clean establishment. Your wait service is minimal as you order when you come in and someone then brings food to your table, nonetheless they were pleasant. The open kitchen design reassures you that not everything you ordered comes out of a bag or is microwaved. The food was good. The spicy shrimp and BBQ chicken pizzas were tasty. The ahi salad was as well. The salads come in large bowls and were easily shared by five. The pimento bacon mac and cheese was tasty, but not something to drool over. Had kids pepperoni pizza and BBQ chicken pizza. The BBQ was supposed to have cilantro on it but it was missing. Overall good flavor and good crispy crust. My husband and I split the chicken salad sandwich with pasta salad. The bread was perfect and chicken salad very tasty. My kids had the brownies for dessert....I had a bite. Pretty good. Two strikes at this restaurant. Picked up take out on my lunch hour. The first time I tried the Newk's favorite salad. The grapes were old and rotten. I ended up picking them off the salad. The second time my take out order wasn't ready. Paid for the meal and waited. Asked several times about order and was told they knew I was there. After more time, I asked again and there was order sitting on shelf. My order had been sitting on shelf for more than 20 minutes. I had ordered a Mediterranean pizza with extra artichoke hearts. Despite paying the surcharge, nothing extra on that pizza. In fact, an embarrassingly small amount of topping altogether. Our worst experience at this Newk's. We usually sit in a booth by the windows, and as another reviewer wrote, the wood ledge between the booths and the windows is filthy. Extra so tonight. I've been to this Newk's twice now. The 4 starts come from the incredible service of the management staff to ensure customer experiences are world-class. The food: It has always been fresh, cooked just right and incredibly tasty. I've had the Pimento Cheese sandwich and the Pimento and Bacon Mac and Cheese. Both are made with real cheeses that are a melting delicious bite of comfort food. The service: The 2nd time we went, we ordered to-go in house. Twenty-two minutes later, we still had not received our order. I asked a server about it and she immediately notified the manager on duty (Terry who's been there 6 months) and he humbly apologized, started fresh re-make on my food (apparently they made my brothers sandwich which was sitting on the to-go table while no one noticed it was half-way filled), and comped the meal. What made this so amazing and gets them the 4 stars is that the server and the manager both immediately addressed the situation. They didn't waste time with excuses or fail to offer some sort of compensation as incentive to get me to come back. They took care of businesses all with pleasant attitudes and great service. With the exception of the cook (or prep person) who failed to make my mac and cheese and also acted like he could've cared less when the manager asked where it was, they handled this mishap like I expect service to be handled. Yes, I waited 22 minutes while my brother's food got cold without explanation. But the recovery from the mistake and the incredibly homey tasty mac and cheese made it worth another visit. Please note however, if you go at non-peak times chances of getting old tea are high. My tea tasted old, however we did stop in late in the evening and I'm extremely picky about my tea, so it was probably fine for most people. The environment: Its clean, staffed, warm inviting environment is a great place to chill out if you need to take a extended working lunch, and a great place to meet up with others for chats. Bottom line: After 2 visits, even with a mishap, it's worth a 3rd. If the food prep/cook guy had been more apologetic and on top of the situation, it would've been a five-star review. I's say chances are slim it will happen again and we did get our meal comped. So I will be returning, you should try it too! read more

This is my favorite Newk's location. You just can't beat the Newk's Q. Even the pizza version of it is spectacular. I find this Newk's to have the best service of the ones I've been to. I love Newks. I've never had a salad there but I always do the half sandwich and cup of soup and it's always just enough. Their soups are rich and tasty, even the lower calorie options.
