10/10, 5 STARS, I can't recommend them enough! Mark and Mickie are a valuable team to utilize when searching for and buying a new home. Despite having owned and sold two homes prior, we didn't really know where to start with a new construction and we relied heavily on their expertise and advice to get us started and through the process with our builder. I truly believe we had a relatively smooth build due to Mark and Mickie's presence with the builder project managers and sales office. We had so many questions during the build process and both Mark and Mickie were able to answer them quickly and effectively. Their skill also helped us make better informed choices that will ultimately provide us a higher return on our investment. Without the Newman's, I fear we would have not allocated our money optimally towards options and possibly overspent in the wrong areas. Mickie's eye for design, general cost of upgrades and knowledge of what sells a home helped us make the overwhelming fast-paced two-day design center appointments much easier and cost-effective. After our pre-drywall inspection, we had a serious concern brought to our attention and Mark was persistent in getting the matter addressed by the project managers and was able to reach a resolution to ensure our safety. I would never want to build a home without realtor help. There were many instances throughout the process where we wondered, "Is this normal?" and Mark and Mickie were both right there to tell us yes or no, and if no, they followed up on our behalf, which really saved our sanity. Where do I begin?? Mark worked with my wife and I in purchasing our long-term home. Due to the market, we were continuously outbid and ran through frustrations. My wife and I had been looking for new homes for several years before we finally chose the community that we would love to live in to raise our young family.. The only problem was that there were no homes for sale in the community. We both know a lot of real estate professionals but chose to work with Mark and Mickie based on their prior work with our family and friends. It was the best decision we made. Our situation was very difficult since we were looking at a specific neighborhood without any homes on the market. Mark worked his magic and we were able to view a few homes that were already under contract which allowed us to learn more about the community and the neighbors. Due to the unique structure of the purchase of our dream home, it meant that the sale of our current home was going to be a potentially drawn out process since we didn't know when we'd be moving into our new home. Mark and Mickie were proactive and got our current home ready for pictures in less than a week so we were ready to go to market as soon we moved into the new home. During the listing process, Mark & Mickie went above and beyond with getting us ready to list our home. We did some internet searching trying to find a Realtor who was especially familiar with the Gilbert / Chandler / Queen Creek area. We interacted with several realtors who claimed they knew the area but did not. One realtor was too lazy to get out of the car and sent us in to look at a house alone. Another realtor played on his iPad while we were looking at a house, and acted inconvenienced when asked a question. Yet another said "I am just a 'key access' person, I don't answer questions", and another said they would schedule an appointment for us, and never did. So when I called Mark, I wasn't sure what to expect. I told him the type of property we were interested in, and in what area we were looking at. The property had just received an offer, but was vacant so he offered to meet me there in 30 minutes so I could see if it was the type of property that would work for us. He identified that there were similar ones in the area that might come on the market. He had been through the property before with another client and offered insights of the pro's and con's from the other clients perspective. This was very helpful information as you only get a short time in a home and the more information, the better. We saw a second home that he had also seen previously. Again he shared useful information. We decided to make an offer, and Mark provided the comps, potential insight on appraisal considerations, and guidance on statistics related to market price. Once we made the offer, Mark continued to be there for us. He answered our emails and phone calls promptly, and gave us detailed updates on what to expect, and what had occurred. He was there for us at the inspection, and available to us at closing. (We switched our closing time due to our schedule at the last minute and he had a commitment). Mark and Mickie both have the patients of angels!! We were rather picky looking for our second house, and we saw A LOT of houses. We came to find Mark and Newman Realty as a recommendation from friends and were nervous to look for our very first house. A few months ago we decided to sell our $500K home in Chandler and buy-up into a fully custom home in an upscale local community. A big deal -- After several very bad experiences with realtors over the past 20 years, I was really going to do my home work this time and NOT use a friend of a friend, etc. After days of searching and triple checking reviews on Yelp, Zillow, etc. Mark made it to the top of my "call" list. After interviewing the cream of the crop, Mark was our guy -- one conversation on the phone and I knew he was the one. And OMG did he EXCEED our expectations. - always got back to us in minutes - every time! - was brutally honest about properties...he discouraged us from some homes due to issues with them...he sincerely wanted us to be delighted with our new home and repeatedly said that we should take our time and wait for the "right" home. - his knowledge of real estate contract law was extremely helpful - his negotiations skills were excellent when we wanted to get the new home price down - perhaps best of all, he sold our home in 30 days - and this was due to some majorly aggressive marketing - beautiful color packets for open houses, refreshments, balloons, signs everywhere...and he gave us candid direction on how to best stage our home - huge difference! We are brand new to Arizona and we don't know anyone here. We started our home search about 2 months after moving here. I found Mark on Yelp and read the reviews. I hired Mark to sell my house in Chandler. He is a very nice guy that cares about his clients but in my case his negotiation skills were terrible. We priced the house very competitively and Mark encouraged me to take the first offer that came along, just 36 hours after the home was listed; even though the offer came with strings attached. Mark believed the other agent when she said that her client was a hardship case and needed a break. Mark played on my soft side when he persuaded me to give my beautiful home away so quickly for under list. As it turns out, the buyer was flush with cash and didn't need or deserve all the concessions that I was persuaded to give him. I should have trusted my instincts. Instead I trusted Mark and that was a big mistake. By the time we discovered that we were duped, it was too late to rescind. You live and learn. read more
