It's a very unique store offering small gifts, air plants, candles, bracelets and other misc items. It's very new and clean. The candles smell wonderful. You can buy small trial sizes. I didn't take a picture of the teakwood soy candle that we had but it smelled amazing. The little office has turned into a small plant room that has pots, and succulents (Gro Florence). Stop in, you won't be sorry. Neat store and GREAT customer service. My receipt said Jeremy but I thought it was the store owner (Austen?). We will stop by the next time we're in town.

Be sure to visit their sister shop, Femme Fatale, down the street; it's a darker counterpart to Bohemian Candle's white witch vibe.

While I was in the store several people picked up something for someone they knew because it was somehow the perfect thing. Whether it was the name of the socks or the right saying on a mug... And it reminds you that gifts are not just for you but forgiving to others. There's everything from locally made jewelry to uniquely scented candles to jewelry that includes height, formed during the Mount Saint Helen explosion, and turned into glass like gems. The very next morning I opened my front door to find the candles already delivered and waiting on my mat. I'm stunned and impressed. The Barth's (who own the business) make really good, consistent products, and their prices are lower than any other supplier I've found. For example, they have an oversized votive that fits most votive holders and burns longer. The burn time estimates on their web site are accurate; you really get 20 hours out of a large votive. They also make tea light replacements without the little metal or plastic cups, so you can reuse your tea light holders. Candles arrive nicely wrapped, well-packed, shipped by priority US mail. I got ours in three days. We burn a lot of votives and tea lights, and after years of experience, have switched completely to beeswax because it is a green product, and because it burns longer and cleaner than any other kind of candle. This is the most cost-effective and ecologically sensitive source I've found for candle lighting anywhere in the US.

Newport Bay Candle has them all... scented candles, triple scented wax melts, bath salts, car scents, all handmade right here in Newport OR. The candles are a little pricey but the sweet elderly lady in charge of the store mentioned that they last long. The candles were made of gel (not wax) and that I was told they have a smaller flame allowing it to burn 2-3x longer than traditional wax candles. Hmm... this was the first time I've seen candles made of gel. I didn't know that the Factory Store is located just a few miles from Newport's Historic Bay Front store. From printing to pouring they are made locally at their factory store. I would've been interested in seeing where the magic happened and come watch them pour the candles. It's a Samsung - so it's not a "normal" charger. My hubs found a phone store 1.5 miles away... but before heading out to walk there, we asked the lovely folks at the front desk if there was some place closer. Lo and behold, Sassy Kitchen and Gifts was quite literally, right outside the back door ;-) While our purpose was the phone charger - we were giggling with delight with all the COOLEST stuff that Sassy's has! Yes, the phone charger - she had one that is a 3-in-1 so I can charge EVERYTHING I own for the foreseeable future (it now lives in my purse 24/7). But, we also got a rhinestone wine baseball hat, an artsy ceramic wine stopper, lip tints inside mini wine bottles... and if my budget wasn't focused on buying local Willamette Valley wine, I would have bought TONS more stuff. Sassy's had candles with the funniest sayings, wine tumblers with more funny sayings, TONS of gifts for BRIDES and wedding presents, T-shirts galore that were clever and reflected the Eugene area, candies, treats, items for the pets in your life... I could go on all day. Sassy's was for sure one of our BEST finds in Eugene! And, just in case - I don't want you to miss it! - it's "in" the 5th Street Public Market but on the outside corner and not in the inside middle. It's on the corner. Walk towards The Gordon Hotel, stop before you enter, look right, and you'll see the cute Sassy's sign - poof!
