Yesterday, I brought my laundry in to have it washed. There was a sign on the store stating no self service laundry. The door was locked. Finally, a woman opened it, and I proceeded to put my basket on the counter. I asked for my favorite person, as I tip her well, and she always does a great job. I was told that she no longer works there, and "NO MORE FREE LAUNDRY FOR YOU", Ha! I've been paying over $25/week for years, and this jackass of NEW owner, just lost a good customer. I sincerely hope that they lose more customers. You don't talk to customers like that! read more

I visited Newport County Laundry for the first time today and I was greeted by the owner who is very friendly. The place and the machines are really clean and I will definitely go back. They have free WiFi and a few chairs for you to wait for your laundry to be done. read more

When my girlfriend and I moved from Newport to Portsmouth we had to find an inexpensive but good laundromat since our new apartment wouldn't have washers and dryers. We tried Newport County Laundry and have loved it ever since. We live at Seabury and this is within 5-10 minutes of our place. We usually use the washers that are 4.75 or 5.75 depending on how much laundry we have that week and the dryers are 25 cents per 5 minute intervals. The interior of the laundromat is a little older but the machines are well kept and the owner is usually there when we go. He's a very friendly guy easy to talk to and can help you with any problems. As much as I miss doing laundry at home in our old apartment, for the price we can usually get away with doing the laundry for about $10 or just a little less. read more

DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING SPECIAL OR EXPENSIVE AT Newport County Laundry! $459 Down Comforter dropped off 18 JUN. Went for pick up 22 JUN, the appointed day, and it was GONE!!! Countless phone calls, many visits, and a letter, and FIVE MONTHS later, NOTHING! Not even the $30 that was pre-paid for the cleaning! Owner won't return phone calls, and barely acknowledges the situation. read more

Newport County Laundry is in the same plaza as Stop and Shop and a liquor store and close to Benny's so it's very convenient. The first time I went here the staff showed me how everything worked and helped me choose the correct size washers and dryers.The washers are new and rung out my clothes thoroughly. The dryers are very fast and there are two televisions and magazines in the seating area.There was always staff around working on drop off orders and boat laundry etc.They open at 7 and close at 9 and the last load of wash is 7:30. There are folding tables,laundry carts,etc and it's clean and well lit. read more

It was adequate to get my big stuff clean. Place was fairly clean. A handful of washers and dryers were out of order. There was only two other people there, so it was not a problem for me, but if there were more, I am sure you'd be limited to those available and working. The cheapest wash was $3 for a front loader; the toploaders were $3.50. After putting in $1 worth of quarters in a dryer and pressing the button 4 times, it had a failure after 6 minutes that I could not reset. It was not operator-error, since another dryer worked for the full-expected 24 minutes. There was instructions on how to get your money back, but I didn't bother. There was no attendant on. Neither of the two working change machines work for my sole $20 bill; the other change machine was out of order. The deli next door changed my $20, but they didn't seem too happy about it. The outside seating had a nice view of a smelly dumpster that the critters got into. read more

Just post a response to Michelle K's review ... she was reviewing the laundromat ACROSS the street NOT this one. The one across the street is West Main Laundry ... and it's the one with the "nice view of the smelly dumpster". That and the deli gave it away. She's right ... West Main Laundry is horrible. They're not great at fixing things... the place is dirty since new owners took over; machines not being fixed, lights don't work half the time, etc. read more
