They do a good job, if a stain is removable they get it out. They aren't magicians but they're friendly, always courteous and fair.

Brought my Giorgio Armani designer pants here to have them professionally dry cleaned, and they ruined them. They were perfectly fine before having them cleaned at this business. They clearly did not read the dry cleaning instructions on the tag so they stained the top of the pants. We had to bring them back three times to try and get them to fix them and they could not fix them. No apology or refund. Very disappointing. Sad to say but I would not trust these dry cleaners with any of my clothing items. read more

I took my comforters in along with some clothing items. The locations provides good work for a reasonable price for this location. Dropped off my items on a Monday and was ready by Friday. The staff was friendly and very receptive. They ask if there are any areas of concern for items that I brought in for servicing. They do provide delivery and pick up services, although I have not used these services. read more

I rarely write a review but I'm compelled to share that Polo Cleaners in Middletown/Portsmouth RI, could be trusted with the finest clothing plus goes the extra mile. We had dropped off my husband's tailor-made suit earlier that week literally praying the colors wouldn't fade plus pant leg had a stain. When I went to pick it up, it had closed. That night my husband asked about the suit saying he wanted it for an interview that had been scheduled for that next morning. I messaged the business as I was frantic but still never expecting a reply back that day. The next thing I know they wrote back and we made arrangements for us to pick it up that same night!!! ... I'm not even a regular customer and they actually drove there after closing. Still can't believe they did that, plus they removed what we thought to be a permanent stain on the suit and suit colors didn't fade (like I'd experienced at other dry cleaner's) ..the suit actually looked brand-new! Truly grateful and believe their attention to fine materials together with their act of kindness needs to be shared! read more

They lost my sheets and turned an expensive white shirt red. When I said to the woman at the counter I was displeased she told me the sheets "were not lost" they were "misplaced." FOR 2 WEEKS? Polo Cleaners deserves less than one star. I had my $160 North Face hiking pants hemmed at Polo cleaners last week. I was worried about getting them hemmed by a cleaning service because they're such expensive pants. The woman at the front desk assured me that they would do a great job and that they knew how to hem a "techie" material like them. As soon as I picked them up, I took them straight out of the bag (didn't even wear them) to realize that the hem was coming undone and that my pants are all frayed at the bottom. I've never seen a hack-job like this before. I will never recommend this company to anyone, in fact, I'll make sure nobody makes the same mistake as me by doing business with Polo Cleaners. Absolutely ruined my pants, and now I need to take them to another seamstress to see if they can fix this botch job. Unbelievable. read more

The WORST dry cleaning service I have ever been too. I dropped off a dress and two shirts to be dry cleaned, when they gave me the slip they said it would be ready on Tuesday (Which was a long time I thought) but grabbed the slip and left. When I got home I looked at the slip and it said the total would be $25.00. The dress is nothing fancy but has lace so I don't risk washing it at home. I just went to pick up my items and they said it won't be ready until 4pm today. They have had the clothes since Thursday!! The guy at the counter was rude and did not even offer to see if maybe my items were ready. NEVER going back here again! read more

I took a comforter in on Aug 2nd to have a zipper put in so I could turn it into a duvet. The owner told me it would be ready on Aug 16th. I called on the 16th and they said it would be another week. I called today the 22nd of Aug and she now informs me that the seamstress cannot put the zipper in. She had no apologies whatsoever only excuses. Pathetic!!!!! read more

I've been using this dry cleaners for about six months, early on I got some shirts back that weren't mine, marked with my name but not mine. The shirts I brought in were missing, fortunately they were found, they had not been marked at all. Okay, mistakes happen. Recently, i took in a pair of slacks that had been stained at my Christmas party. They had a large food stain (white) against black slacks, I brought them in pointed out the stain, they were marked for special attention. When I got them back the stain had not been removed. I was not told they couldn't remove the stain when I picked them up, I didnt discover that till I tried to wear them. The large stain was still there. I was able to remove some of it just by scraping at it. I brought them back and asked that they be cleaned again, as i believed no one had actualy tried to remove the stain. The girl wrote up a ticket for $6.50. I askd, "you're going to charge me when you didn't clean them?" The owner then joined the conversation saying they had been cleaned because they had been run through the machine. Great just what I needed an argument about semantics. I pointed out that special attention had been marked, no one had pointed out the cleaning had failed and if you just examined the stain you could tell no one had really tried. He did finally agree to clean them again for free but it was less than cordial and I felt like I had to pull teeth to get the service. The pants, by the way, did get clean the second time around. Now, most recently I brought in four shirts, three for laundry and one dry clean. When I went to pic them up the bill was $22.50. Really? for four shirts? I was told one of the shirts that I had requested laundered actually had to be dry cleaned because it was too heavy. This is a shirt that is well over 10 years old that I have laundered many many times before. The woman serving me explained that the girl who took them in didnt know they were too heavy but when the people in back found a shirt they felt wasn't okay to launder they dry cleaned it. There was no sense of apology from the owner, no sense the girl up front should have been trained, no admission that I should have been notified that the shirt would cost much more to clean. Sorry, but it just seems rude to me. Its an old knock around short, not worth dry cleaning. Because the owners don't feel they have to actually take responsibility for their actions they will never train their personnel properly. They will never do a good job and they will act as if you are a jerk for wanting good servive. I'm done with this business, there are other dry cleaners out there. read more

Visited location twice, the first time my suit jacket was ruined by them. They melted a button and stained the front of my white and navy stripe suit jacket blue. After several months I finally got my jacket back (dropped off the end of August and got back in October) the buttons had to be replaced, there is still evidence of the stain they made and the jacket seems to have shrunk a bit. In the weeks they had my jacket they never called me once to update me on what was happening to my suit. Upon pick up they told me it was the crappy buttons on my Brooks Brothers suit that was the issue. There was one worker who was polite and apologetic but the experience was remarkably poor. I decided to give them a second chance when I dropped off a designer tie for cleaning the other day. Upon pick up the stain was not removed. There was no marking or communication of any kind that there was an issue with the tie. The only thing i can tell that they did was put a safety pin in the end of the tie, leaving two holes. Not only has this dry cleaner left me with damaged clothing they have failed to communicate. It's unfortunate that I have had these experiences as it was recommended by several of my peers. read more

I go here only because it's super convenient to work and home. This place takes a week to do even one or two pairs of pants, unless you want to pay extra for normal service times. It's about $14 for two pairs of slacks, and $15 for a suit. read more

Took an expensive jacket to get dry cleaned. Not only was the girl rude (dirty looks and not at all friendly), but when my fiance went to pick it up he had the same experience with a different individual. That's not even the worst part.....there was a VERY SMALL safety pin attached that was VERY HARD to get out (almost cut myself with the pin) AND there was a rusty blood colored substance that got smeared on the Jacket where the pin was.!! NEVER AGAIN will we go here!! I ended up just washing it in the machine. read more

i also had a bad experience at polo cleaners. i dropped off a dress that i needed for a wedding and when i came to pick it up one day before the wedding they told me they couldn't find it and there wasn't anything they could do until monday. so i drove and hour and half out of my way to get the same dress because i loved it and when i went back to the cleaners they now refuse to reimbburses me. i have called and called to speak to joe the owner but he never takes my call. so my advice is do not bring anything to this place because they do not care about you or your personal property. read more
