Inside the store they sell Melissa & Doug toys for the kids and a offer a large variety home decor/gift items items. Great selection of bulk foods, spices, snacks. I bought a bag of spinach pasta. The baked goods looked delicious, but I actually passed on them because of all the other snack foods we were purchasing. Do check out the breads, cinnamon rolls and cookies. They sell a small amount of produce and still had some seedless watermelons available for only $2.99. They had a small selection of cheese curds and do have refrigerated items. They had a nice vitamin section and even a little clearance area. Everyone in my group ordered something from the deli--mostly sandwiches, that were divine, but I opted for the blueberry-banana smoothie. Yum! You can purchase sliced meats and cheeses from the deli counter, but they also have an extensive menu. On our way out I noticed the soft-serve ice cream machine and a coffee grinding station (I think that's what it was). We spent about $45 on everything we bought (spinach pasta, peanut butter filled pretzels x 3!, dried apple rings, milk chocolate covered blueberries, ranch seasoned snack mix, honey mustard pretzel bites, peanut butter granola. Apparently we prefer peanut butter and pretzels--also. we were shopping while hungry. Store is immaculately clean and the staff were very friendly. Prices are more than fair. We were here right around Noon and the place was picking up in time for lunch. We ate outside in their outdoor seating area. Face masks are not required here, but about half of the customers were wearing them. I appreciated that. Highly recommend!

If you come to compare prices be sure to note that this meat is of a much higher grade that the conveyor belt meat from the grocery stores. The prices are not dirt cheap but you get what you pay for and that is quality. I don't know about you but I am fearful to buy meats that may be recalled tomorrow from the chain stores. I can't tell you how many times the meat from a grocery store goes bad quick even within 24 hours, sometimes the meat may look good in the store but when you get it home it is discolored on the bottom or throughout. I love knowing that the meat at Calhoun's is truly local and fresh! They will be a new staple in our community.

They have all of the staples as well as the best bread making supplies and flour. I do not recommend their mixes, because they taste better if you make bakes items from scratch. Yoder's is not always the cheapest, however they are convenient for bulk. The red pepper relish is also delish, but I would stay away from the meat selection.

Yesterday we stopped at Hampton meats to get a few steaks and some hamburger, and the first thing that I noticed was that the meat is higher than Whole Foods at Whole Foods in Green Hills Nashville. But it's not grass-fed. When we got home, we fired up the grill, my father-in-law cooked some steaks, and he knows how to cook steaks. They looked great, they were tough as nails. OK. I'll let that pass because it happens sometimes. But today, when my husband went to the refrigerator to get out the hamburger, it was grey. I'm attaching a few pictures. (Please note that the iPhone doesn't truly show how gray this meat is. It seems to have added a little bit of color, but this stuff was grey ) Needless to say, the whole family was a little irked, and if I did live here, I would never go back. This meat is horrible, overpriced, and only God knows how old it really is. One more complaint is the girl at the deli counter. I don't know if she didn't wanna work on Christmas Eve day, but she had an attitude that put me right off. She acted like it was a big pain in her fat butt to slice a few pounds of cheese for me. And while she didn't throw it on the counter, she certainly didn't put it down nicely and she didn't say thank you. I was told since Hampton's changed hands, the quality and the service has been subpar. I can attest to that.

But it was so stinking hot that I decided to get the Walmart Pit Crew oil change yesterday. By the time I did a little shopping, it was done. Good grade (not recycled) Quaker State, new filter, etc. It came to less than $22 including tax. If I'd done it myself, it would have cost me $26 and change. Am I ever again going to pay an extra $4 to lie on a hot driveway and do it myself? I think not.
