Newton provides very professional and friendly moving services (by hour, with 3-4 movers depending on your situation), comparable to national moving companies but at a fraction of the price. I have used Newton's for moves both within the Bay Area and out to Northern California. I have a 2 bedrooms household and they took care of all large and small household goods including wrapping individual chinas, fragile wall hangings etc. with care. I have some big heavy furniture which Newton managed to move expertly and efficiently (in a shorter time than a big national moving company when I moved from East Coast to California). Newton's Hauling & Moving expertly handled a tricky, two-pronged local move for us. Newton and his team did quality work carrying items with care. First, they carefully moved heavy and bulky furniture and items from one part of our small house to another part - involving some tricky maneuvering. Then, they moved other furniture and boxes of fragile items from our house to another place - requiring Newton and his team to carry the furniture and items up three flights of stairs due to a tiny elevator! Newton charged a reasonable and fair price for all the work. Additional kudos to Newton for communicating clearly throughout the entire move. They showed up on time, carefully wrapped my easily-bruised items, and the final charge was slightly under the estimate. Newton and his crew were prompt, courteous, and efficient. We used them for moving a 3 bedroom 2 bath house with an additional trips to a local storage facility, and the local dump/transfer station. Whether it was disassembling beds, getting furniture to fit through tight spaces, or helping pack an under-sized storage unit; Newton and his team handled all of it without a problem. They seem to really enjoy their job and helping people transition from one place to another by making it as easy as possible. Called them up for an estimate on taking out a hefty granite backsplash and countertop. Leo came out very quickly for an in person estimate. Price was very fair. In the end we ended up only taking out the big pieces of backsplash, which they took extreme care in not ruining the existing countertops. I was frankly pretty shocked at how cleanly they were able to remove it with minimal damage to the drywall behind it. I would definitely call Leo and Newton again for future projects! read more

We used Newton's company to move our entire household a few months ago. He came with 2 guys and they finished the job faster than estimated and under budget. They also were willing to work on a Labor Day weekend. Everything arrived at the destination in perfect condition. The guys were friendly, conscientious and professional. You have to pack yourself, but can leave the stuff where you packed it. Newton will come pick it up and then will deliver it to whatever room you want at the destination. Newton also happens to be a black belt both in Brazilian Jiujitsu and in judo and he approaches his work like he approaches mixed martial arts. Newton is punctual, reliable, responsible and as smart as can be. I would trust him to deal with any complicated moving or hauling problem, and to do it with grace and good humor. Yesterday he and his crew moved a very big, very heavy 1940's Wedgwood stove from my in-law apartment, and up many steep concrete stairs. They had to get it through a narrow doorway with one inch clearance, move it in a right angle into a narrow hallway, and out another narrow door, before confronting the stairs. Newton is very friendly and a great business man. His services are affordable and fast (depending on the project, I assume). My wife and I had a ton of debris which needed to be hauled, and he finished packing up the debris and other unexpected junk within a half hour! He even pointed out that our wheelbarrow had a flat tire, and worried that he had done it; such care in his work! So then we had him haul away the old wheelbarrow as well. His truck is so spacious! I thought we would need the full truck, but the load didn't even fill up half of the truck! Overall a wonderful experience, and it felt so freeing once our backyard was clear! read more

Newton and his team just left. He was super responsive and came right over when I called and he gave me a very competitive bid for the work. Then came back to do the work right on time and his team worked hard until the job was done. They banged out the basement and left it looking great. They tore down sheetrock and hauled it off for the quoted price- including taking all the screws out and leaving the beams clean. I'm super impressed with the work they did for the price.
