Fast forward to February of 2024! I noticed that the HVAC unit did not seem to be working properly. I contacted Diane at AC & H of Tampa Bay and she set up an appointment to have one of their technicians inspect my HVAC unit. The next morning, Bobby thoroughly inspected my HVAC unit and upon completion he advised me he wanted to speak with the staff at the main office because of concerns he had regarding my condenser unit. Thirty minutes after he left my residence, Bobby called and advised me that the condenser unit needs to be replaced. The main office later called me to set up a date and time to have this work done. On the date and time promised, Jeff and Jose from the AC & H of Tampa Bay arrived with the new condenser unit and began the installation process. By the afternoon, my new condenser was up and running. Before Jeff left, he advised me he wanted to schedule a return visit when the outside temperature was warmer to insure the pressures in the unit were correct. He explained the work he did and reassured me that this defective unit was merely an adoration. I fully understand that on occasion any part in a mechanical device can fail. What I must point out was the professionalism displayed by this company from every single employee. They were kind, courtesies and were genuinely interested in getting my HVAC problem repaired. The labor was under an extended warranty I had with AC & H of Tampa Bay along with a warranty from the manufacturer of the condenser unit. All costs associated with the unit and its replacement labor costs were covered by that warranty! A warranty with Air Conditioning & Heating of Tampa Bay means exactly that, they stand by their word and you are covered! This is a family owned and run company and it shows. The are dedicated, professional and most of all HONEST! If you need your HVAC system repaired or a new one installed, these are the people to go to. They were out today for an issue with my A/C that had gone down last night. I called this morning around 8:00 and they were here by 9:00 to fix the problem. They are always timely, tell me what is the matter, help me to do the right things to keep the unit running. John and Jacob are always friendly and efficient. Derek, the estimate technician who arrived at my home on April 23rd, was knowledgeable and addressed my questions and offered options. He was at my home for over two hours! He offered me several options, without pressuring me, simply explaining the benefits of each option. His willingness to explore my request to remove current water outflow pipe that had been on the garage floor for decades, presenting a safety risk, and route it another way outside was taken seriously and creatively. He took me through the plan and I was so pleased. The technicians who arrived the next day to do the install, Gary, James and Kauntes, were excellent workers. Gary was in charge and went over the plan with me in detail. He was able to troubleshoot a few issues and get the job done! Let me tell you about Fontana Brothers. We had a power brownout earlier in the day that knocked our…read moreAC compressor offline. I called EIGHT highly rated AC companies in the area. Granted, it was Labor Day, but not one of them answered the phone. Only two eventually called me back. Fontana Brothers? They answered on the first ring and told me they could have someone out within about 90 minutes. Our technician, Fredy, called about 20 minutes before arriving and immediately got to work. He quickly diagnosed a failed capacitor and an issue at the contactor/electrical connection, and replaced what was needed. He also recommended surge protection for both the outdoor condenser and indoor air handler, which seemed especially sensible after the electrical event that started all of this. But he didn't just fix the immediate problem and leave. He inspected the air handler, discovered a significant air leak where it connects to the ductwork, and found the blower wheel caked with buildup. He took care of those issues as well. He also checked the refrigerant charge and explained that the system appeared to have been left at the factory line-set charge, which only accounts for a relatively short refrigerant line. Ours runs roughly 45 feet between the condenser and air handler, so additional refrigerant was needed. Fredy showed me the regular repair pricing versus their maintenance-club pricing rather than just trying to sell me something, and with a seven-year-old system that clearly hadn't received enough attention, joining made perfect sense. What really stood out, though, was how he treated our home and family. He stopped to pet our cats, patiently answered our kids' questions, and treated everything with care. He used our garden hose while cleaning the blower and actually wound it up neater than we normally do. From answering the phone on a holiday to getting our AC running properly and finding several problems that could have continued costing us efficiency and reliability, the entire experience was exceptional. I genuinely can't say enough good things about it.
