I went for my annual mammogram today. It was actually a great experience. I was taken in within…read moreminutes of my appointment time. The technician who administered the exam was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and efficient. I was pleasantly surprised and totally impressed by the robe I was given to wear! Certainly not the typical paper or thin dressing gown I expected. It was a soft, comfortable, cozy robe that I would expect at a spa, not a medical facility! Simple upgrades like a plush robe make the visit much more pleasant. I think I need one for home!

I called about 2 weeks before I was to start and the receptionist complained to me that my doctor should have told me to call sooner as they had no openings. We agreed that I could go for my initial evaluation and consult to their Hamden facility (near the tunnel on the Merritt Parkway), and then I could do my follow up appointments in Milford. I completed online all my paper work, scheduled the initial assessment and then heard nothing. When I called them for my Milford appointments, they told me they did not have any and I would need to continue with Hamden. This is a trek from Milford and I was 2 weeks post op and unable to drive yet. Luckily, I was able to find another practice in Milford that was able to see me when I needed to begin. Not impressed.

This gentleman is compassionate and very personable. I would highly recommend him to anybody in my family. He's the best, and I've been to many physical therapy agencies . I have had many surgeries in the past. I've had two fusions in the back, five knee operations, and one neck operation for the spine. Thanks to Keith, I can still ride a bicycle, go to the gym, and golf. I'm 82 years old and as active as I was in my 60's. If I need care in the future I would definitely go back to Prolete Physical Therapy. Carl W

I had a deeply disappointing and costly experience with Dr. Carpenos at New England Spine and Disc…read more I came in with leg pain caused by two degenerating discs pinching a nerve. During my initial visit, Dr. Carpenos recommended spinal decompression therapy -- a treatment not covered by insurance. He then started to talk to me like a snake oil salesman: fast and confusing. I explained that I had a very limited budget and needed clarity before committing. So I asked him to slow down and I asked some very specific questions about how the treatment wold work, what the success rate typically was, and what I could expect if I decided to follow the treatment plan. Instead of answering my questions calmly, he became visibly annoyed and said he felt "pressured" by me. I reminded him that it was MY body and my very limited, hard-earned money -- and I was the one feeling pressured to spend it without him having the patience to explain this therapy that insurance wouldn't even cover a significant portion of. His first response was to say that financial hardship shouldn't be a barrier to treatment. When I said I'd have to decline since I couldn't afford the full amount he wanted (Close to 4,000 as I recall) he suggested fewer visits for about half the price. , When I expressed concern and asked if I'd still get relief he assured me I would, so I agreed to take part in the treatment. But at the end of the treatment, I felt no improvement. When I reminded him of his earlier assurance, he said, "I expected that you'd feel a bit better, see the results, want more improvement, and then commit to the final visits." He'd completely ignored my statement at the beginning that there WAS no more money. I felt completely misled and taken advantage of. The experience was not only financially draining but physically uncomfortable. His chiropractic adjustments were rushed, and during one session, he failed to check the placement of my arms during a bear hug/anterior thoracic adjustment. When "hugged" me sharply my fists were jammed into my voice box which hurt so I reflexively pushed back. He asked what was wrong and I explained what had happened. The following week, he asked if my cold was better. When I looked at him, confused, he said "Well, last week you had a sore throat, didn't you?" [It was surreal, like he just was unable to take any responsibility for his own actions.] He also gave questionable medical advice outside his expertise -- once telling me not to use sunscreen despite a family history of skin cancer -- and another time I heard him telling his staff that he'd advised another patient to ignore their cancer doctor's recommendations and to follow his own. Dr. Carpenos' demeanor throughout my treatment was pushy, rude, and evasive when asked direct questions. His team failed to track the decompression machine's pressure settings, so I had to remember my own numbers to ensure proper progression -- a detail that made me feel my investment wasn't respected. If you read his responses to other negative reviews, you'll see a pattern: sarcasm, deflection, and a refusal to take responsibility. I strongly caution anyone considering treatment here. While some patients may find relief, many don't -- and Dr. Carpenos seems far more focused on securing payment than on assessing whether spinal decompression is truly appropriate for your condition.

Contacted billing twice but never received a phone call back I paid the bill anyway because I didn't want it to go to collections. I just canceled my next appointment and will not go back. It's too bad because I really liked the doctors.

Highly rude and unaccommodating. They took several months to make simple orthotics for my shoes…read more Every time I called to see where my orthotics were they acted like I was the worst person in the world. They gave terrible expectations for when they'd be ready and then got upset when I'd check in after their proposed finish date. They then lied to me about how I couldn't pick them up due to a supposed insurance issue, then proceed to tell me 2 hours later that I can pick them up and that they'll make an exception. When I get there they cancelled the doctor appt without my say. The doctor shows up and has an attitude when I ask a question about the orthotics because i "didn't have an appt". Well it was cancelled on me! Awful awful awful! NEVER go here

I cannot tell you how patient everyone was with me from Kelly Hernandez, the lead surgical assistant to Donna, the x-ray technician all the way to Dr. Kennon himself. Mike, his PA was also highly competent. Everyone was proficient in their area and also extremely kind when answering what I'm sure were my silly questions. Dr. Kennon went out of his way to explain what would happen on the day of surgery and even called me the night before surgery. The surgery itself was highly successful. I feel 10 years younger with my new knee. I would recommend Dr. Kennon without caveat. He and his staff are truly a rare find.

From my very first consultation through my hip replacement surgery and recovery, Dr. Kennon demonstrated exceptional skill, professionalism, and compassion. He took the time to explain every step of the process, clearly answered all of my questions with patience, and made me feel confident and cared for. Both surgeries went very smoothly, and my recovery has been remarkable--I'm walking more comfortably and regaining mobility. Dr. Kennon's expertise and warm, reassuring manner made a difficult experience much easier. I am deeply grateful for his dedication and for the outstanding care I received from him, his staff, and the care givers at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden. The hospital staff was amazing! If you are considering hip replacement surgery, I strongly recommend Dr. Kennon.

I went to this practice back in July because I felt as though I had a pinched nerve in my neck. The…read morechiropractor I usually see doesn't take my insurance so I opted to look to see who was in my network. Neuro Spinal Center isn't far from my home so I figured that I would try it out. I have a relatively high deductible so I expected that I would need to pay some out of pocket. I wasn't expecting it to cost $350 just to walk in the door! Then another $60 for the actual adjustment. Along with more charges for them to put heat on my back and "massage" it. I got a discount for having insurance but I still had to pay $313 out of pocket... It would have been over $150 cheaper to go to the chiropractor OUTSIDE of my network. AND my other chiropractor spends more than 10 minutes with me (usually about an hour from when I get into the examining room until I leave). The services were not nearly what I was expecting. And I'm highly disappointed in how much they charge. To charge $45 for "massage therapy" is outrageous. I could get the same/if not better, while getting a pedicure and sitting in one of those massaging chairs. The machine she used was very similar. I could have gotten an actual massage at a spa (where they use their hands not a machine) for the same price. I will never be returning. If I'm paying $313, I would expect the doctor to spend more than 10 minutes with me after waiting 25 minutes in the waiting room. Extremely disappointed and disgusted.
