I hope we can get someone to mow even more often, as the grass gets high when it rains a lot! the dogs love the high grass, but I like to walk the perimete, so I prefer short grass. thanks guys, for a great park!!!

There are walking trails and ultimate frisbee in the neighboring park. The dog park itself has two sections for small and large dogs. The park has mulch and dirt and not much else. The area is peaceful surrounded by large trees. I imagine in the peak of spring and fall it is beautiful.

Even though it has concrete as the ground cover I don't see it getting too hot for your dogs since there is so much shade. Add poop bags and water in the small dog run and this a 5 star run. Be sure to wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty because many of the dogs love jumping on people (including my little husky! ) otherwise you will end up like my sister in the image I added here LOL.

Many of the locals gripe, however, that the town doesn't hasn't made its upkeep a priority. No clue whether that's true but special places like this are gathering spots enhancing life and community, which is sorely needed in these days of social isolation. Therefore, any projects developing community care ought to be nurtured and expanded for its citizenry to thrive instead of only survive.

Voluntary Labor only gets things so far and as this is a city park even an average lawyer could prove the city liable for things..... Fix the gates! Simply replace the burnt out bulbs would help us early AM evening visitors. I thought the area had everything possible and done.... Sad to know dog parks in SD, IL and IA are thousands of times better, have volunteer workers AND use tax funds to maintain safe areas. UPDATE: Apparently you enlightened liberal dog owners have very little knowledge of Kennel Cough and other diseases when your happy that others leave toys and bowls in the park. Many praise it and as one who pays attention will ask those happy with this if they are enlightened enough to believe everyone is vaccinating and caring for their pet as much as you do? I SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT. If your dog gets aggressive... Leash Up and/or Leave! If your dog bites another dog.. exchange info and call the Police so a report is made. I have witnessed TWO events where the aggressive dog owner leaves and says NOTHING as the injured dog owner is attending to their pet. Hey, but I must be the one with the problem here! At least the park people got off their dead behinds and removed the wire below the first gate and mowed. I guess installing new lights to illuminate the park is to much to ask for and expect! Sad that the taxes paid do not cover BASIC maintenance issues to the over paid and under worked park staff.... keep sitting in your vehicles on your phones and we can start documenting your "strenuous" work day for you.... I will gladly show up and pitch in to help and I do believe it's time to demand the Park Board, Mayor and City Council start getting outside with us and take care of what the taxpayers have purchased BEFORE another item is purchased or leased.....

The 16,000-square-foot playground was made possible by a $400,000 fundraising campaign. The playground is named for John "Bodie" Vaccino", a local Milford boy who was born with cerebral palsy. When he was younger, his parents took him to a boundless playground called Hannah's Dream in New Haven. Bodie was able to play with his sister, Emma, as if he had no limitations. His parents then set a project in motion to bring a similar playground to their hometown of Milford. They didn't want a playground just for children with disabilities, but rather a community play mecca for kids of all abilities. The playground was designed by John Hollerbach, owner of Creative Recreation, who has worked on other projects associated with the nonprofit Boundless Playgrounds. An adjoining splash pad opened in July 2018. My family and I recently visited Bodie's Place Playground while we were on our summer break from school. My wife and I are always looking for good playgrounds for our sons, and we heard lots of great things about Bodie's Place. The playground actually features 2 large playscapes: one intended for younger children (ages 2-5) and another intended for older children (ages 5-12). We thought that both playscapes were equally impressive. After our sons played on them for a while, they changed into their swimsuits and headed on over to the equally impressive splashed. Both of our sons had a blast! I must also note that there are plenty of amenities at the park, including bathrooms, pavilions, picnic tables and benches available at the park. We highly recommend Bodie's Place Playground to families with small children and look forward to returning!

When our friend told us he had to go to California for a week and needed someone to watch his dog,…read morewe decided this would be the optimal opportunity to "test drive" being doggy daddies. After spending a couple of days at home with our little visitor, Scout, we knew we needed to get him out to run and play so we took a visit to the Danbury Dog Park. This park has a lot of space and has two fenced in areas; about 0.8 acres for small dogs 20 lbs or less and a larger 1.1 acre space for bigger dogs. There is water available as well as bags to clean up after your dog. Each play area is double gated so you can safely take your pooch in and out. We went to the big dog area and the dogs who were playing immediately came to the fence to sniff the new guy. We let Scout sniff through the fence for a couple of minutes to get acclimated and then took him in. The dogs (and owners) were all friendly and well behaved. We went to the back area of the park because Scout loves to chase tennis balls and we didn't want to distract the other dogs up front. There was plenty for him to run and chase the balls without bugging the other dogs. We'll definitely be back before we have to return him but we have a feeling he will have good memories of his time at the Danbury Dog Park.

I…read morepersonally found the upkeep to appear well in tact and I even saw gardeners attending to the lawns so clearly they keep eyes on upkeep which is particularly important when you have a special event planned. I had the pleasure of attending a wedding as a bridesmaid. The space was beautiful and spacious. The china on the lower level in casing was beautiful and the colors chosen have a very old home comfort feel. Takes you back a bit to another time. Lighting for images is great here and there is a handicap parking close to the ramps which make entry and exits very easy. They offer recycling and trash in their kitchen. The staff on site was very informative and kind. Overall, a very pleasant experience. The videos and photos we took look beautiful!!! I'd like to personally thank Tarrywile for everything!!
