When we were…read moresurveyed we were told that it would take 6-8hrs to pack one one day , 6-8hrs to move on the second day, and that they would need two trucks. We told them it would be less because we were going to be doing some of the move ourselves which we did do. In addition, we asked if it was okay to leave things in some of the armoire and dresser drawers but just tape it up. We did this when we did a DIY move from another state to here. We were told yes. We also had newer boxes that had been donated to us to help cut the cost. On the day of packing, the packers told us we were "taking hours from them" because we had moved so much stuff ourselves. We also showed them the boxes they could use. We were told they would use some of them. However, the larger wardrobe boxes were not used so we had to pay for them. The lead packer said she felt the dressers would be too heavy for the movers if we left stuff in there. On the bottom was glass so I understand why she packed that. I said okay you can empty one of the TV stands since there was a lot of stuff in there. However, when they were done they also emptied two of the armoire drawers, which was not organized and had junk in it. Had I known I would have packed those myself. By doing so, they mistakenly packed our spare car keys even though she insisted "we don't pack keys". Well they unfortunately packed the spare car keys which I was able to find that day by unwrapping boxes to find them. On the day of the move, they did bring two trucks so they would not have to lose time going back and forth to the apartment twice. We had told them they would not need two. However, to justify it they put some stuff in the second truck. I think (I could be wrong) they were trying to make up some of the money they could have made had we not moved some things ourselves. I could not find some things (this is normal) but in one of the boxes, I found they packed my workout sneakers and my stationary bike shoes (in the shoe boxes) with stuff from under the kitchen sink and two small frying pans. I think this is inappropriate. We are still unpacking so I am not sure what else I will find like this. I do take some responsibility for not being organized but it did cost more than we hoped since we moved some things ourselves. Were they professional -yes, were they quick - yes. I should have been more organized as well. I do wish they had used more of our newer boxes than their own materials to help cut the cost. I do recommend them but make sure you are organized and are able to watch as much as possible to see where they are putting things.

    I booked Fresh Start Moving 1 full month in advance of our cross-country move and had a great…read moreconversation with Guillermo who answered all my questions and was very thorough in walking me through what we needed and how the process would go. It is important to note that we ONLY booked them for LABOR ONLY- we only needed them to pack up our moving truck. Guillermo assured me it would be a 2-man job and should take 3 hours max (we had a 2 bed, 2 bath apartment with an elevator). We rented plastic moving crates to box up 90% of our items, so we really just needed help with loading the furniture into the truck. Come the day of moving, the two movers showed up 30 minutes after the agreed upon 8-9 AM arrival window. The car they arrived in wreaked of marijuana that you could smell just standing a few feet outside of it. One of the guys stood down at the truck almost the entire time trying to figure out how to pack all of the crates (all crates were the same size, so there really was not much to arrange) while the other guy was wrapping furniture (and wrapping our couch pieces in the most non-sensical way we've ever seen). My husband went down to the truck to see how things were going and could not find either mover at one point. About 2 hours into the move, the only thing on the truck were our crates and they kept trying to tell us it wasn't all going to fit. My husband and I ended up having to wrap the remaining furniture and box up our heaviest TV because they were taking so long and there was still much left to load onto the truck. Come the 3 hour mark, they come to tell us that they're at the stopping point and there wasn't much space left for our stuff. I was sent into a panic because our bed still hadn't been loaded onto the truck. I called Rico and explained what had been going and expressed how unhappy we were. He managed to make contact with the movers and had them finish loading up the bigger pieces left, but my husband and I had to throw everything else in the truck ourselves (spoiler alert, there was plenty of space left and we got all of our items on the truck!) and it took us nearly 2 additional hours to get all of our stuff loaded. Rico only charged us for 3 hours of moving, but it does not feel right when my husband and I had to end up doing so much work ourselves. We hired movers to do this job for us, and we ended up having to do half of the labor ourselves and to pay for a full 3 hours labor for two useless movers. I would not recommend this company to anyone who needs things done on time, or working with a budget.

    AMS damaged my floors and I filed a claim with the associated paperwork and provided the photos and…read morea quote for the repair of my floors. The quote that I submitted was $3500 from the company who installed the floors and they stated this was the cost to repair the floors. AMS offered $200 for the damaged floors. I have sent multiple emails called five times this month. I have been told by ACE and Joe that I have to speak with a "Specialist" by the name AB. So far, no emails or phones calls have been received by me from AMS. They also damaged two tables and drove in the grass with their truck and cracked my waterline. I filed for one table and the floors. I do believe they are just trying to wait me out and hoping that I will go away. The icing on the cake was the workers asking for a tip after they damaged my property and my uncles. Marie, I see you responded to my review just like you did on Google. I have called the listed number you have provided and it goes to Joe or Ace who forward my call to a " specialist" who I learned to be by the name of AB. AB has not returned a single phone call or email. I realize this is waiting to game at this point and y'all are attempting to save face by responding to my reviews but it does no good if your origination does not answer or call back with the numbers you have provided

    I have been having the worst possible experience with this company possible. Several of my items…read morewere damaged during the move and I submitted paperwork to get reimbursed for the damage. They countered with an extremely low ball value that comes nowhere near the cost of repairing the items, much less replacing them. I asked how they came up with the reimbursement values, and was completely ignored. Was given a number to contact Jeff, but the few times they actually picked up the phone, Jeff was unavailable and never returned my calls. I was also given an email that is apparently never monitored, since I have not gotten a response from them that way either. This is the WORST customer service I have ever experienced from a company. This complete lack of communication from them shows the quality of service they actually provide during their moves.
