Olivia was thorough and listened to the needs of others who needed accommodations/modifications. She was also super motivated and challenged our class with her workout set. I came out the studio with my whole body quivering! The studio is very bright and allows for so much sunlight which I love. However, there seemed to be a little bit of a light funk of body odor that lingers throughout the place. I hope they find a way to circulate fresh air around the studio to make it a better visit next time!

(update 3/21/21) I must update my review after a very disturbing encounter with the owner Keith…read more After being a loyal client for about 1.5 years, I was following his cancellation policy (I texted him at least 12 hours BEFORE our next session), he agreed via text it was ok to reschedule (he does this for all clients as long as it's within the policy window outside of emergencies, pretty standard). Then, later that week during my session, he seemed very angry but incredibly passive aggressive. He said I could not reschedule and he's keeping my $75 for that session. I was shocked, caught off-guard because I followed his guidelines. I went back and looked at my texts, not only did I follow his policy, but we supported his business through covid so you'd think we would have at least ONE conversation over the 1.5 years in regards to rescheduling or his dissatisfaction. Since day 1, I was very open about how we needed flexibility in our busy schedules. Later that week, he texted me wanting to drop us as clients (surprised, but completely fine with it) and said he'd refund my 8 sessions for the rest of the month. Well, I can clearly count to 9, so I let him know he owed me for 2 sessions (Sunday + this one). Yeah, he tried to steal from us 2 times. I gave him a chance to explain himself, this was the professional and kind response I got from him via text, he told us to go F*** ourselves (see screenshot, thanks Keith for the evidence!). I also noticed he did not honor his off-peak hours 9am-11am at $40/session. Beware of this owner and his business practices. I will be going back to all my monthly Venmo payments to ensure he didn't overcharge us. More than happy to resolve this issue still and looking to get our money back. Next step will be to report to consumer protection bureaus. I will update this review if anything changes.

SERVICE Service was friendly, overall, as you're typically greeted by those at the front desk, which is lovely. I'd say there is room for improvement for my tour/meeting with the membership director when I first looked at Bay Club Courtside, as it felt that my question's were more of annoyances and that he wanted the meeting to be over with sooner than later. STANDOUT DETAIL What stood out most to me was the overall atmosphere and vibe - it feels like I'm going on vacation to a resort everytime I enter (rather than a gym). But issues have come up as a result…read moreof a big push to increase membership that are making certain pain points more painful for members. Parking Lot: This has been a big problem for a while. While I get that they "have plans in the works" to help remedy the issue, what I don't understand is why they block an entire row of parking spaces - including a handicap space(!!!) - all day for kids summer club drop off and pick up. I find it hard to believe that there isn't a better solution that doesn't include removing the availability of so many parking spaces. At peak times it's like The Hunger Games trying to find a spot. They've been very aware that the parking situation is bad, but they pushed to increase membership numbers without a plan in place first and now everyone is being inconvenienced. The other issue is the members themselves. I'd say the vast majority are wonderful and polite, but since the push to increase membership I've observed more rude and gross behavior. Members getting in verbal fights with other members, classes being overcrowded and causing aggravation because of space issues, etc. Locker room behavior ranges from people behaving like slobs and leaving towels on the floor versus putting them in the bin when done to cell phone conversations in the locker room to using hair dryers to dry underwear on the vanity countertop. These are things I'd expect at a budget gym, not at Courtside. I know they can't police poor behavior and hygiene but this is the result when you allow adding more members at a much lower rate to a main member's account. I get that it's expensive to operate these kinds of facilities. But for what I'm paying I am beginning to wonder if the grass is greener (and less expensive) elsewhere...

I love that I can feel so comfortable working out with some incredibly athletic people - which also helps to motivate me. My trainer, Jen, has taken the time to teach me proper form to use with lifting weights and is very knowledgeable about offering modifications, until I gain the needed strength. She tracks my progress, always challenges me and she amazed me when she pointed out how much my endurance had improved!! Wow!!! I've seen the other coaches training classes and know they are just as good. And everyone here is so friendly and welcoming! The gym is super clean, they have a range of classes or private and semi-private training options, they have monthly challenges to improve different skills and plenty of space for weight and floor work.
