My favorite was the clam chowder soup, which was creamy, rich, and very tasty. We also shared a salad which had a spring mix, light vinegarette with some asparagus. It needed some kind of goat cheese or feta cheese as well as some nuts. For the main entree, we had a steak (medium rare) with unique onions (?balsamic grilled?) with broccolini that we enjoyed whereas the fish was a little on the dry side over a bed of rissoto. Dessert was creme brulee (good) and a chocolate forest cake (did not taste that great but maybe I don't like cherries like that.) Live music with guitar and singing was occurring in the lounge. That was lovely but it was a little too loud. The atmosphere is nice-- bar area with some table seating in the lounge area. We also liked the patio terrace outside which has fire pits and outdoor games. It has a lovely view of the downtown. (And remember that it does not get dark in San Jose in summers until around 9pm). The club also has a formal dining room, business conference/meeting rooms, ballrooms, etc. for any occasion. Parking is underground in the building and will be validated. My daughter just started playing indoor soccer here; The facility is clean and new, but unheated, so dress like you'll be outside. (All the parents kept their coats on.) There's plenty of parking in back, but you'll have to use the nifty stoplight system to get back there; the driveway is only one car wide. Don't be the like the guy today who ignored it and caused a minor traffic jam. First!

Our cabana club was a bright spot of exercise and fun during the pandemic -- they worked so hard to make sure members could get some safe pool time in all season, even extended the season! When guildhouse opened to the general public in the afternoon, the atmosphere lit up. It's so casual and just a nice place to come and relax with your friends. The last few times they have come to the area I wasn't able to go, but nothing was going to get in my way this time. As soon as I found out, San Jose was going to hold Forbidden door, I was on board. As I said in my previous review, Sap center is setup nicely for events, not too big, not too small and there is NOT a bad view in the house. I make it a habit to NOT purchase stadium food because it's usually overpriced so I have little to say about that, I eat before I enter the venue.
