If I could give this no stars, I would. On vacation with a group of college age kids that all wanted to get tattoos or piercings. Found this place and saw that it had mostly good reviews so we decided to go here. Got 2 tattoos and 1 piercing. On the second tattoo the guy who I'm pretty sure is the owner messed up the words in the tattoo and tried to fix it which ended up making it look worse. He never said anything to us about messing up, hoping no one would notice I guess. Then when we did notice, he proceeded to sit there with his back to us like he couldn't hear what was going on. Had to get a parent involved in order to make him do anything. His excuse was that she "flinched". Apparently flinching causes someone to forget how to spell. Gave us a $50 discount on a tattoo that was already priced way too high. I get that we were in a tourist area and the prices would be higher, but I feel like it was still unfairly priced due to the customer being younger. Save yourself the pain, and don't go here for your vacation tattoo. CA read more

Myself and my 2 daughters decided to get matching tattoos while on vacation in Gulf Shores. After finding Next Level and discussing via Facebook messenger what were wanting, we visited on 04/08/2021 for our ink. Our tattoo artist had a picture waiting of what we all wanted and asked the area we wanted it. 2 of us got it on the wrist in the same area, and my other daughter elected to get it on her foot. Our artist never gave advice or suggestions on our locations, nor were aftercare instructions given. When filling out the questionnaire before receiving our ink, we checked the box NO that we had not received these instructions as well. When the lady checked us out, she told our artist to give us a pack of A&D ointment to use, but that was all. No big deal, we received our ink and it looked wonderful, AT FIRST! in about a week, after arriving home from our vacation, which is 8 hrs away from Gulf Shores, I contacted them once again through FB messenger bc my 2 daughters tattoos seemed to be fading drastically, however mine still looked good and dark. They told me that we were still healing so to give it a little more time, but to stop using the A&D ointment bc we were only suppose to use that for 3 days after, well that would've been nice to know when were to supposed to have received our aftercare instructions! So I let another few weeks pass and my daughters tattoos now look horrible. The one on the foot is barely even there, so I contacted them again through FB messenger and asked for a refund. I was told no refunds would be given but I could drive 8 hrs back down to their business (16 hrs round trip), and they would retrace it. I asked to speak with the shop owner about this, and was told that person was the shop owner and that he would not do anything about this, he was sorry that I wasn't happy with my service. I explained that a tattoo should be permanent and not fade almost completely away in 2-3 weeks, he could've cared less. So I have now not only wasted $140.00 ($60.00 for each tattoo and $20.00 tip) but now I have to pay again to have it retraced. BEWARE!!! read more

This place is incredible, we went to a few other shops in town to compare prices and things. Ben and the owner (can't remember his name) were awesome, really cool guys, and amazing artists. Came two separate days with pretty good size groups and they fit us all in. Prices were cheaper than the other shops in town and the artists were a lot nicer, I felt like they actually wanted to tattoo us unlike a couple other shops we felt like more of a burden. I had a terrible experience at this place. I wanted to have the same tattoo artist that I got my first tattoo with. I wanted to extend my roses to a mid sleeve and I also wanted to get a heart and a saying under my boob. The tattoo artist(forgot his name) had just came back from his day off or vacation and one of the coworkers ask him a question and his response was "It was great...spent most the time fucking." The first tattoo that he started on was my under boob tattoo. The only privacy that was provided was a curtain that goes into his room and a closed door that goes into another tattoo artist room. Sadly I could only go through with the heart part of my underboob tattoo(it really hurt). After I had all the stuff like tape and plastic wrap I had put on my sport bra(no I wasn't offered a towel or something to tape over my nipples/boob area). Two guys just walk in the room. I could've been half way naked and they just could've walked in. That was a great thing right¿? I told my artist that I had wanted to extend my sleeve of roses and that I just wanted roses. He adds calligraphy and does rose buds. I tell him I just want the exact roses from my first tattoo. I try to tell him agn what I wanted and that I didn't want rose buds or calligraphy added. He looks at me and says "what the fuck are you talking about?" He called my tattoo tacky and clip art. And tells me and makes sure I know he's been an artist for 20 years. I went here while I was on vacation, so I didn't have an appt and didn't know the artists. When I walked in, they were happy to take me, I told the artist, John Riendeau, what I wanted, he sketched it, and we began! The tattoo is beautiful, everyone was super nice, and I will go back there next year and get another tattoo from John if he is still there! I had gone to Precision Ink originally, but they pretty much told me they didn't have time for me, and readily let me leave the place and didn't seem to be too sad to see me go. They offered to have me come back later, or tomorrow, but I was leaving town the next day. What a shame...glad John got my money and my business instead! read more

Ben, was highly recommended to me so I went to see him. Got there and he was very welcoming. Told him what I wanted him to design and he came up with an idea right away in his head. Told me give me two days and stop back. went back at opening and sat there for almost an hour, they open at 1, i got there at 12:45 and some other guy showed up at 1:40. was sitting there and never asked if i was waiting since his ass was late- shouted out to him asking if Ben was coming in today, He replied, i dunno, he sometimes takes mondays off and walked in the door and that was it. That's great business. I wasn't upset that they were late-i was upset they couldn't give a shit and never got a call from Ben either cause he did have my number.. after TWO tattoo places that have horrible customer service issues, It was a blessing in disguise cause I then found Precision Ink..
