They advertise that next level prime can be a substitute for primary care and that is not true You cannot see a Dr in person only virtually. They then schedule another appointment in The clinic for a physical exam. This disrupts any continuity of care. I was told in a visit they they cannot provide care for chronic conditions. And when I presses forward, I was told I'm not a good fit and got hung up on. When I responded to a survey I was called by a member of their leadership team who blamed me. This is not care. It is a business model to get as much insurance and pro are money as possible. read more

I didn't even walk out of the clinic with a treatment being performed but the provider provided me with all the right options that led me to making the right decision that I felt comfortable with making. I came here 4 months ago because my tonsils were swollen and i couldn't even swallow water. The doctor who was an Asian lady told me it was just a soar throat and to drink pain killers. I also had a low fever that day. I then ended up going to a specialist at UTMB 3 days later and turns out I had tonsillitis and a really bad infection. I had to get antibiotics prescribed and they even said I could get the surgery to get my tonsils removed. That's not all, I used my insurance for my visit 4 months ago and 3 days ago I checked my bank statement and next level urgent care randomly took money out of my card. I haven't been to an urgent care since 4 months ago and they are charging my card. I am finally able to leave a review for this place... 8 whole months later. This was my very first time coming here and it will most definitely be my last. I see that some others have had payment collecting issues, just as I had. First, I had a virtual visit which was 100% covered, but Next Level decided to charge my debit card before even thinking of going through my insurance. I informed one of the workers of this and soon enough, I received my refund. A day or so later, I took my COVID test. This was in MAY 2020. This was also supposed to be completely covered by my insurance. I was not supposed to pay with my own debit card. I informed the health worker (who was taking my test) of this, but she told me to pay anyway. I paid, I was swabbed, and I filed my claim about a month or two later, even though I wasn't supposed to file one in the first place. Here I am, in JANUARY 2021, getting my reimbursement via check. Next Level kept referring me back to my insurance, saying that I was supposed to get payment from them instead. I had to wrangle with my insurance company for MONTHS, calling every few weeks and trying to get to the bottom of what was going on. Both Next Level and my insurance were pointing fingers at each other and here I was, confused. Why I wasn't getting my reimbursement? What's the deal here? How much worse would this have been if this were thousands of dollars? ... Turns out it was Next Level the entire time. Next Level had filed my claim incorrectly from the very beginning. My insurance had to send collections (or something similar, I have no idea, but it was something big and serious enough to have Next Level pay ME) to Next Level because of their incompetence and refusal to reimburse me for a service that I shouldn't have paid for in the first place. I even have copied letters from my insurance, directed TO Next Level, stating they had to reimburse me... back in SEPTEMBER 2020. Thanks, Next Level! This was a great learning experience in standing up for myself and not trusting a medical facility. Much love! **EDIT 1/28/2021: Next Level contacted me the day after my review and asked for improvements. I stated that all my grievances could be found in this review. There was nothing to improve if the facility itself was the problem. Definitely 5 star service unlike any other hospital/ medical service I've had in a long time. I went to this location and was immediately seen to a room. The receptionist was friendly and forwarned that there might be a little bit of a wait due to traffic (which is a heads up I think most of us would appreciate at any practice). It turned out that the "wait" was shorter than the time most of us spend cooling our heels in other waiting rooms alone. Everyone I came across apologized for any delay and made sure I was comfortable (offering water, adjusting the thermostat, or offering to adjust my seat to make it more relaxing). The service was quick and thorough and they even handed me a referral for a family practice since I mentioned that I hadn't found one since moving to Houston. I have never been treated so well as I have here by any of my primary care or any ER. I was severely ill one late afternoon in early November and for the life for me I can't remember the girl at checkin but as soon as I walked in she rushed me to the back where I met Dr.Scott Brown. I was told to go to an ER seeing that I was in dire need at special attention. Unfortunately, I was never seen by any doctor at the ER. (That's a whole other thing). The next morning I rushed back to Dr.Brown, who took great care of me along with the tech Kisha. Kisha actually gave me a list of free standing ER, which would hopefully take better care of me. They were incredibly kind and helpful. I was taken great care of and I recover within a couple days. I actually called trying to see if Dr.Brown was a primary care physician so I can switch but he's not, that sucks. Fast forward a couple weeks later in December...my son was a terrible ear ache and couldn't be seen by his pediatrician. I knew just the place to take him. I had my husband brought him here and again Kisha and Dr. Brown took great care of him also. Thank you so much. This location is now my go to. read more

My minor daughter was treated for a laceration to her thumb. The wound required seven stitches. I first took her to Methodist Hospital off 249. The wait was eternal... I decided to leave and find someplace else to treat her wound. I found Next Level Urgent Care on YELP. The staff were POLITE, Quick and Efficient, getting us in and having the Doctor see and mend her wound, right away. I can't rave enough about everyone at the Champion Forest location. I took my sister to Next Level Urgent Care Champions. She had been running a high fever but didn't think she had other symptoms. The Nurse, Tina was really cheerful and was very thorough in assessing my sisters situation. Then Lexi, our NP was great in asking for the right tests. After my sister had been to her primary care a few days ago who didn't identify that she has acute bronchitis. She left with medicine and a nebulizer called into her pharmacy. I had a great experience about the first two or three times I've visited this clinic. But, in recent returns probably the last three or four - this place has become unpredictable. They will call you and say they have a room ready, which they do, but shall I mention you will still be waiting forever throughout the "visit" process hearing them laugh and play around right outside your room. And, as of late they claim to accommodate filling prescriptions, that your insurance surely won't cover because they're only over the counter medications, that I have to pay for less my benefits, and you try to stay in your place as a patient, but when a doctor is applying not so conducive methods to your wellness and wallet, you are basically opting to spend more money than you already have - it's very ridiculous how they have sent my prescriptions from one visit to two separate Walgreens. And then fittingly enough they call my mobile phone ...asking if this is Walgreens...lol because there's just such confusion in care of the patients. And, as previously mentioned, I still had to buy the "prescriptions" over-the-counter. You go in for a supposed sinus infection and you're told to get Claritin and Flonase and a small steroid shot that they act like they're never going to give you. It's a real waste of money and like I said customer service sucks. The last nurse practitioner that I saw, Julie - checked my throat with no face mask on, well asking me to open my mouth and say ahhh, that was slightly uncomfortable and mostly unhygienic given the little space between us. So if you are sick, please be advised to avoid this location. read more

While I'm sitting here in the waiting room waiting for the Drs here to work some magic on whatever demon is wreaking havoc on my mom's eyes, I realized that I have been here before and had an amazing experience and never wrote about it. Last May or June or some such, my knee started to swell for what is clearly no fault of mine. My knee clearly just needed to go on a diet or whatever. Anyways, it got to the point where if I didn't get it taken care of, I wasn't going to make it up he stairs again. Being new to the area and being a Friday night, I hit up yelp looking for some place to go to get this taken care of and this place was just down the street. When I limped in, I couldn't believe it. The waiting room was empty. On a Friday night. In Houston. WTH. Any other time I have been to urgent care on a weekend, I feel like I am at some kind of twisted family reunion. But no. Not one soul in the incredibly comfortable waiting room. And wait...is that bad, nameless music playing? No. The music selection was actually pretty decent. After taking my driver's license and insurance card, I was immediately led to an exam room. A nurse was very promptly in taking my vitals and asking what was up. Ok so it did take a while for a doctor to come in but holy crap he was awesome. He looked like he just got out of school which made me a little worried, but his bedside manner was incredible. I wish all these months later i could remember his name. He deserves a shout out. If I could make him my primary care doctor, I would sign up today. Anyways, he checked out my knee and ordered some X-rays. Which they did on the spot. They had to get a radiologist to read them, but that all happened online and in minutes. So what was the problem? Probably my damn shoes which I clearly wore past when I should causing stress on my knee. He gave me the option of getting a prescription or rolling my own way with some alieve and tylenol to save some cash. I opted for the do it yourself option, and the swelling was gone within a couple days. Now here with my mom for something different, and I can tell you that the experience has been exactly the same. This is now my go to place when I am too stubborn to go until it is after dark and too late to get to primary care. I can't recommend this place enough! read more

Typical low end walk in clinics. Wait is hours and then they text you a "room with be available shortly" and they will still make you wait over an hour to see someone. They are behind the counter eating pizza while a room full of people are waiting. Rude people in the front as well as they don't care how long you wait. I have to say, the caregivers at this location are outstanding! Tina was my nurse practitioner who made me feel comfortable and loved! Like motherly love, she got my blood pressure and made sure I was comfortable and gave me some bottled water. I then got to see Ms. Chelsie my PA, a very petite little medical professional with a huge heart and even larger brain! I was diagnosed very quickly with sinusitis, but almost worth it to visit this urgent care so close to my home and on a sunday! I was seen within 6 min of arriving, I got to sit in the exam room and complete my medical history on a cool tablet and the shot did not even hurt even a little bit. This clinic is in my network, it only cost 75.00 to be seen, and I felt very much cared for as a person, not just a sick stranger, which in fact I was! I will be back, 5 stars and thank you for such great caregiving and compassion for my coughing, sneezy, grumpy, sleepy ass. I think I could be the 7 dwarfs all in one sickness!! read more

AMAZING SERVICE!! From start to finish I felt valued and my concerns were their concerns. I pre-registered, a text notified my they were ready for me. When I came in I exchanged information, within 5 min. I was sent to my room. The nurse came in, asked question and maybe 5 - 10 min the doctor came it. She was gently and caring. Before leaving they gave me information for further treatment if it was something I wanted to look into down the line. This was refreshing due to the fact 48 hours prior I visited an urgent care that was extremely rough despite the pain I was in. I was seen within 30 minutes of arriving & the NP Erica was excellent about treating and addressing my concerns. I definitely feel at ease knowing there's a place I can trust for urgent care situations. Great that they are open on weekends, and another plus is my insurance was accepted for $75 Co-Pay. Super Bowl Sunday - I'm so sick! I fought it but I couldn't wait until Monday to see my doc. I am not a fan of the urgent care near me, so I decided to make the 40 min drive here. Upon entrance - clean facilities. Immediately a young lady tells me they'll be right with me with a sweet smile. She went on back and another young lady asked for my insurance and ID and I took a seat. She and the other young lady with curly hair were going on and on talking and about 10 mins later the front desk lady calls me back up. She says I'll get a text to register so to go sit in a back room. Hmm okay, I could have been done registering in those 10 mins. Maybe this patient didn't want to register by phone, maybe I'm more comfortable using pen and paper? But all right to the back I go. I'm done registering on my phone and my door is open. The same smiling lady who told me it would be a bit is at the back (not the same lady who took my ID & insurance) and she tells me she has one more patient then will be in. 45 mins later, give or take 5, she comes in. She is the tech named Elizabeth, gets all my info and then takes my copay. Elizabeth was as sweet as can be and the only reason I am giving two starts. In addition, the patient beds were way more comfy than the norm, so that was pretty cool, too. I forgave the wait time because I believe they had a pediatric patient, and as a mother of three I understand. So that honestly was not a make or break deal for me. Here is my issue. Had I not had my copay, I would have wasted my time here. This should have been done at the front desk not after I was there an hour. Now the doctor comes in, smiling and asking my symptoms. Cool. I tell her. She asks me my age and tells me about watching what I eat until the sickness passes and, after pressing a bit to check for anything, tells me to just follow up with my doctor. Well, obviously, but I get it. So my issue. The most basic of things this doctor did not do. She did not even take a stethoscope to listen to my heart or breathing! The biggest complaint I have, and I say this without putting my medical issues out so this is obviously an example, I went in complaining of a "horse" and she diagnosed me with a "horse." She told me what I told her. She didn't discuss what could be the issue, what may need to be done, that she would give me this to make me comfy but follow up with my doc. I went to see my doc the next day. At this time, he takes two out of the three prescriptions given and tells me it will make matters worse. I plan on giving this place another try.
