This is regarding US Renal on Topperwein.....my LO is receiving dialysis treatment and had an unexpected bowel movement and the refused to change him ...mind u he is there 4-5 hours ....we got the call about 330 regarding this....so Ur telling me my LO has to sit soiled for 3 hours because even though ur staff is trained to handle these matters u won't change him..... would u do that if it was your LO ...there response was well if u want u can come change him .....OMG seriously....think we're gonna look for another facility that allows patients to keep their dignity...very unhappy with this facily and we only been going here about 2 months .... read more

Its been awhile since Ive ginr back to Porter medical. Total bad experiences many times. Which were reported regarding very rude clerk. Another time my husband went in for an appointment, he waited a ling time to have Dr. Carlos Porter voice be heard at nurses station/desk. HE NEVER CAME IN... instead a NP then it was a quick appointment to finally walk out and Porter was leaning into a females truck flirting and laughing. Apparently the female was more important than the stroke patient. Never went back to SW Military location. Office treatment by clerks have been very bad, even witnessed two elderly couple being yell at and cut off while talking. Not very polite to disrespect the elder. read more

Well, the day landed in San Antonio, I managed to roll my ankle. My goodness, it was so swollen the next day I knew I needed to visit Urgent care. I was pretty concerned cause I couldn't put much weight on my foot and thought I ruined my whole vacay. I walked into this location, and I have to say, I had nothing but a good time. Honestly, I really enjoyed speaking with the nurse and doctor. They had me laughing and kept me distracted as I was waiting for results. Had a fairly quick turn around. They took my X-rays and gave me the best advice imaginable. Within days, I was back to walking normally, simply because I followed exactly what they said. Sounds funny, but I was kind of bummed to part ways since I had such a great time interacting with them. My wife was inappropriately treated here. She came in with a sore throat and fever and was told that she did not need a flu/covid test or strep throat swab. She was started on amoxicilin and just told, 'you likely have an infection' by one of the PAs. Poor medicine and poor antibiotic stewardship. These people saved my life. They took me in, took good care of me, and referred me to the ER. They were patient with my whining. They were gentle with my soreness. The nurse stick me for a blood sample and I DIDN'T FEEL IT HAPPEN! They are beyond professional, kind, and competent. I should say again that they are kind. They carefully listened to my incoherent rambling and explained things until my addled brain understood. The only possible better experience would be to never get sick. I chose NextCare because they take Medicare, as listed on my Medicare insurance plan. Yes they take and billed and got paid by Medicare and then billed me for more....above and beyond their contract amount negotiated with Medicare. A sign when you walk in that warns you that patient is responsible for any and all payments is a fancy way to double bill you. Seniors on Medicare beware. read more

Like most other reviews have stated, this is a fantastic urgent care. I came here for a sinus infection and as a new patient was in and out in less than a hour; including paperwork, wait time, PA visit, shot from the nurse, pharmacy info and checkout. My insurance has processed the claim and everything went smoothly, no unexpected costs. I will definitely return here the next time I need a quick visit to the doc. read more

Went Tuesday for sore throat , turned me away saying I had allergies , 2 days later WHITE SPOTS ON MY TONSILS it's strep throat they have no test to test me for it and tell me I'm fine once again , 100$ down the drain. I went to another clinic and boom they said I have strep !!! Don't go here waste of your time !! Can't even get in contact with the office directly you'll be sent to an operator ! Called back two days later and said they would charge us again for the same symptoms! When I go to the urgent care I do not expect to sit around for 70 minutes. The atmosphere is friendly and helpful but the wait is far too long. If you are looking for a quick in and out, this is not the best place to go. Don't be fooled by checking in online to "pass up checking in (in person)", it does not help you get in any faster, and if they tell you your wait will be ___ minutes, expect it to be longer. read more

New, clean, efficient and overall great clinic to go to for your quick medical needs. They are open until 8pm 7 days a week and you can check in online prior to arriving in case there is a line you'd rather skip. I checked in online and a half hour later I was at this clinic, filling out paperwork and seen by the doctor about 20 minutes after that. Pretty fast for a same day visit! As soon as Dr. Stephens walked in, I felt comfortable and knew I made the right choice coming to this clinic. After a thorough discussion of symptoms and changes, She ran a couple of tests to make sure my sore throat wasn't caused by strep or mono. I appreciated this bc I do not want to unnecessarily take antibiotics. Luckily negative results came back, so Dr.Stephens suggested a round of antibiotics since my symptoms had remained the same for about a week with no improvement. They emailed over my RX to my pharmacy and I picked them up 20 minutes later! Dr. Stephens is wonderful and will make you comfortable. She is thorough in her differential diagnosis, and wants to do what is right for you. She is a D.O and has interest in sports medicine. So this is a great place to visit for any sports related injuries! read more

I had an appointment at this facility. I arrived at the requisite 10 minutes early, completed the paperwork and sat down to wait. Forty-five minutes later, I was still not seen, nor did the receptionist tell me (or the others waiting) how long our wait would be. When I asked her what the holdup was, she simply said that there were Covid patients in the back of the clinic. I never saw a nurse or a doctor walking around, nor did I hear any noises that one would expect to hear in a working clinic. Please don't go to this clinic if you are ill. I have visited Impact Urgent Care twice in the last two months; both times with a family member who is very new to San Antonio. The first visit was on a Sunday afternoon. It was quick and efficient and the PA was incredibly nice and helpful. Follow up was great. The second visit was after a car accident. Again, there was no long wait and the PA - and nursing staff, and front desk staff - were incredibly helpful and treated my family member in a very respectful, kind way. AND, diagnosed a problem missed in previous follow up treatment elsewhere. They got her referred as she needed to be and she is on her way to full recovery. Having worked in the medical field for the past 15+ years I am not a huge fan of urgent care clinics....Impact changed that for me. I live in Houston but was visiting my family in SA and dealing with what ended up being the worst sinus infection ever! The staff was BEYOND amazing. Worst service ever. The receptionist and nurse were very kind and helpful but Ronald Dinges (the doctor/provider I saw) was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I had been advised (emphasis on advised) by another doctor to get a chest x-ray and a steroid inhaler because I had a persistent cough/wheeze and was thought to have pneumonia. I could not get an x-ray by that doctor because that service was not available so I went to Impact and was ridiculed and talked down to about getting x-rays. Like Dr. Dinges thought, the x-rays were unnecessary and I did not have pneumonia, but I was not demanding these x-rays like he acted I was. I simply went in and was told I was advised to get them but I did not know any better because I am not a doctor. He talked to me in a very unprofessional manner about my request when he could have politely told me in his professional opinion I did not have pneumonia and did not need the x-rays. Sadly, this is not my only issue with Dr. Dinges. He asked me nothing of my medical history or what medicine I was on when I was diagnosed with bronchitis less than a month ago that never went away (the reason I was seeking medical attention). So when it came to my request of a steroid inhaler he said I could only be prescribed one if I had asthma (which I have but he did not know because he failed to do that part of his job). After telling him that, he was clearly thinking on his feet because he said he would prescribe me ProAir HFA...this is NOT a steroid inhaler. He was going to prescribe me an inhaler I already had from my recent diagnosis that was not successful in aiding my cough and wheeze (something he would have known if he had asked what I had been prescribed for my bronchitis). I guess he "corrected" himself because he then said he would give me Flovent HFA which is a steroid inhaler. Best part of my whole interaction with him was that he diagnosed me with "moderate persistent reactive airway disease" . I say this is the best part because I was diagnosed with this disease over a decade ago. He was obviously doing a "sloppy" job because it was almost closing time when he had to help me. I will just assume I still have bronchitis. Dr. Robert Dinges was rude, unprofessional, and the single reason I will never return to this Impact Urgent Care. read more

We arrived and had to check in outside (be advised it is hot and there is no shade nor seating) We were told 1 person was ahead of us and it would be 20 min after we had already waited 30 min. It ended being over and hour and a half before we were seen. There is nothing urgent about their actions. A person who spoke broken English came in to get a covid test. He had an appointment and they said it would not be rapid. He needed to "call the health dept to find out where to go to get a rapid test." He said that he needed it for his plane which he was catching in an hour- he was turned away. Once we were called, the nurse was friendly. We went in and said we needed a pcr test. She said we give the Naat. It is similar to the pcr and you get it back in 15 minutes. (See above to the man with the appointment - why would he be turned away when we made an appt for the 15 min test. Now he is going to miss his international flight because he didn't get his rapid test that he had a reserved appointment for!?) To me, them turning him away, not giving him helpful advise, and giving him the test he reserved is just terrible. We will try somewhere else next time. read more

I wanted to get a test for Covid. However, the staff there gave me such a run around. First they told me the test was free since I didn't have insurance. I made an appointment for 3:30 pm and when I arrived everything changed. They told me they needed my SSN to file under the Care Act. The What??? Why??? can't I pay for it? You told me it was free. The staff there are disorganized and give wrong information. I am still waiting to be seen and its 5pm. I asked them why make an appointment if I have to wait an hour or two later. Ridiculous. Very positive experience at this clinic. The facility is immaculate and well staffed. I felt well taken care of by the doctor who saw me. My only reason for not giving a 5 star review was that I was kept waiting for 30 minutes and there were no other patients being seen. I always go to this other clinic, however they moved and became a hospital clinic. Impact Urgent Care was right down the street and it was new to that area, so I was a little hesitant. However, it was the best decision I could've made. The waiting room was so clean, had a coffee area, and a children's play area. The lady at the front desk was so friendly! The nurse was awesome and nice. And the doctor was really caring. He made sure he would find out what was wrong with me before he let me go. He took his time and was patient. I have no complaints about this place at all. This is the kind of care I like to have when I am sick and I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

I went to this location and before intake was required to show insurance. The lady behind the counter ran my insurance and told me there would be no charge since I hadn't been to urgent care this year. I ended up getting a big bill and my insurance had never even heard of this provision. I asked through two letters for an explanation but all Impact did was send it to collections. read more

But here, i only waited 10min and the NP and nursig staff were prompt to address my concerns. Payment was quick and the customer service was good. Had an absolutely amazing experience at Impact. We are visiting San Antonio for the summer, and my 11 year old had a terrible earache. Rather than go to BAMC as we usually do, we called an got an authorization to visit Impact. From the moment we entered, we were treated with such respect and professionalism. We were literally in and out within 40 minutes. The nurse was absolutely amazing. He made my 11 year old feel so comfortable. And the Doc that we had that day was incredibly thorough and kind. They called in prescriptions to HEB so that we could use the drive through rather than going inside. The nurse brought my daughter some crackers to eat prior to releasing us. Super positive experience all around, and I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this Urgent Care to everyone!!! read more

I found this urgent care center through yelp. It had five stars so I decided to give it a try. I left work early due to suffering from cold like symptoms and was unable to schedule an immediate appointment with my primary care doctor. I was impressed that I was able to check in remotely via a call center and was given a time to show up (as well at two reminder texts). Once I arrived, I noticed the front desk lady was very helpful and nice. The lobby was clean and quiet with refreshments (tea, coffee, fruit snacks, crackers, etc.). I waited for only 10 minutes before getting vitals. Joe took my vitals and he was so cheerful and nice, really made me feel happy. The doctor was nice and caring and attentive. He didn't appear to be in a rush like other urgent care doctors I've seen. Overall I was very satisfied with the experience and highly recommend. read more
