    COVID Testing Information
    Anna W.

It took a few phone calls to get someone to answer the phone. I was interested in getting tested for covid. They were booked for the day but sent me a link via email to register to get tested for the following day. I filled out to information in the link and the following day I received a phone call around 11am, they collected payment information for the $50 COVID testing fee and gave me my appointment time which was 3:10pm. I arrived at 3:08pm and called the phone number to check in while I waited in my car. They checked me in over the phone and someone came to my car at 4:01pm to take my nose swab. I was on my lunch break so I had to leave instead of wait for my results. I received my results via a phone call at 4:27pm. Overall I am very thankful to have been able to get a test, most places are booked far out or are out of tests. The $50 fee was unexpected and waiting an additional 50 mins out from my appointment time was inconvenient but I'm still happy to at least get tested!

    location

wasn't feeling good and needed to get seen for just a small sore throat and dizziness , and dr jessica womack was so sweet and professional and listened to every word i had to say and if i ever need something minor again , i will be coming back . they took my Blue cross blue shield insurance and was seen very quickly once i filled out the new patient paperwork. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I've been to this Texas MedClinic many times. Once without insurance, and the rest with. There are…read moremany things to talk about so let's start with the good. Pros: 1. Check-in. Texas MedClinic offers online check-in and will text you however many minutes you want before your appointment. The map also displays how many folks are in line. 2. Paperwork. It's easy to fill out, either online or in person. 3. Convenience. They do almost everything here - almost. But, when they refer you somewhere, they pick good spots. I needed a CT scan, and they sent me to a fantastic Imaging center. But urine, blood, x-rays - they do all of that here and more. 4. Great communication/follow-up. Despite not knowing what's wrong, they've followed up regularly asking how I'm doing. Unfortunately, they still don't know what's wrong with me.... 5. Professional and friendly staff. When I got bitten by a dog last year, I wished I had come here first instead of the ER. The doctor made a little finger brace for me, we did an X-ray of my hand, and had I not received a tetanus shot at the ER, I'm pretty sure I would have gotten one there. Everyone I've encountered here has been so nice and professional, too. 6. Fast! You'll be seen rather quickly and won't be waiting TOO long (unless it's very busy). Cons 1. Always need to pay a copay, even if they're the ones calling you in for a follow-up. My copays are a little high, and I can't imagine if you don't have insurance. 2. Despite the quality care, the staff was absolutely stumped on what was wrong with me and were content to tell me to go to an ER next time.

Absolutely unacceptable to make an appointment and wait in a room for 90 minutes. This is a waste…read moreof my time and there are other urgent cares who compete with this poorly staffed horrible clinic. I will never come back. Avoid this place unless you want to waste your day waiting.

Online, it's listed as a Family Hospital that offers emergency care, ultrasounds, X-rays, EKGs, and other imaging services. I walked in, and the woman at the front desk was very kind. However, there was a man sitting behind the front desk in regular clothes with no scrubs or name tag, staring directly at me. When she asked why I was there, I felt uncomfortable discussing my private medical information in front of him. She noticed and asked him to step away. I explained that I had just found out I was pregnant, have a history of an ectopic pregnancy, and had started spotting, so I wanted to make sure everything was okay. She took my ID and insurance, and I sat down. While I was waiting, I could clearly hear staff in the open office talking about me, saying things like, "Why did she come here?" A man dressed in slacks and a dress shirt--not scrubs--came out and asked what was wrong. After I explained everything again, he told me he didn't know what they could do for me and would ask someone else. Then another man in teal scrubs came out and asked, "What's your deal?" I was taken aback and asked what he meant. He then told me this facility was for drug and alcohol treatment and that I was in the wrong place. I felt embarrassed, unwelcome, and like I was being treated as a joke during what was already a frightening situation. If this facility is not equipped to evaluate pregnancy-related emergencies, that should be made very clear. The name "Family Hospital," the signage, and the online information are misleading and led me to believe I could receive emergency medical care there. I left feeling confused and humiliated when I should have been treated with compassion and respect. One thing I would avoid is saying "DO NOT GO THERE!!!!" if you're aiming for the review to be taken seriously. The detailed description of your experience is more persuasive than an all-caps warning, and it focuses on the specific issues: misleading information, lack of privacy, and unprofessional communication.

When I started to look for emergency clinics I noticed this location had a CT scan, plus I had already visit them in the past and had a wonderful experience. I was quickly seen by Dr. Zeballos and he was super attentive and professional. During my time there I also interacted with three other nurses and they were all wonderful people. After just a few hours here, I left feeling 10 times better and with the right diagnose and help that I needed. Besides the amazing people working here, the clinic itself is so clean and modern. Even though they've been opened for a few years now, I swear the clinic looks exactly the same as when I first visit them four years ago. The Doctor did not listen to my symptoms and made remarks of, "Oh, I thought you were here on Medicare." "This is emergency medicine, you need derm". "Look, I am not here to solve the world's problems"" I am speaking-do not cut me off". I presented to the clinic with inflammation, eczema on my hands. Now, the night before was pretty painful, and I explained at this point I am looking for relief. Rather than taking the time to assess and treat, the Doctor went on an entire tirade of comments that pretty made his stance pretty clear. If you are a Medicare recipient, do not enter this clinic. If you are a student getting help from your parents, do not enter this clinic. If you are feeling sick or have health issues, do not enter this clinic. This is emergency medicine, okay. Yet, she was repeatedly pushed back while others who got there after her were taken ahead of her. I was told it was based on "priority," yet a toddler with ongoing symptoms and risk of dehydration was not treated as urgent. What made this worse was the attitude of one of the techs. When I asked questions, I was given vague, dismissive answers, yet the same staff member gave clear, direct responses to another parent who was loud, rude, and pushy--and that patient was accommodated quickly. It honestly felt like respectful parents are overlooked while aggressive behavior is rewarded. No parent should feel like they have to be confrontational just to get appropriate care for their child. This experience was frustrating, concerning, and unacceptable. We ended up having to walk out and seek help for our little one elsewhere. I delivered here 5 weeks ago and my baby was in the NICU and we both had amazing experiences. University Hospital has great doctors and some of the sweetest nurses when you or your child's admitted, but the people in the front that we need to check in with and be triaged by are the ones who are awful, very cold, and inconsiderate. This is my review from 8/2022- See update below (TWO YEARS LATER GETTING ANOTHER BILL)…read more The website says loud and clear "WE DON'T BELIEVE IN HIDDEN COSTS!" Says "$79 anytime anywhere includes home visit, physician consult and electronic prescription". I got charged $230 for my visit. I was assured my flu and covid test were $0 and covered by insurance so was told I wasn't paying for any additional testing. I tried calling to discuss and they pointed out to me the hidden charges with insurance, if you have not yet met your deductible then it's another $200. Talk about taking advantage of sick people. This is so unethical. I could have gone to Urgent Care and paid my straight $50 copay (which they took ON TOP of another $180) or I could have gone to the ER and paid straight $100 copay and gotten much more. I'm a Registered Nurse myself and am disgusted with this type of service that feeds off the weak and sick. Our healthcare system is messed up enough, she don't need more bottom feeders trying to steal money from people. You can't say you don't believe in hidden costs then physically show me in fine print where all your hidden costs are. Despicable. 3/15/2024- GOT ANOTHER BILL FOR $53.60 nearly 2 YEARS LATER. So what would've cost me a straight $50 copay at urgent care ended up costing me $283.60. They billed my insurance $1412.97 total for this nurse that came and did a flu and covid test and was there maybe 15 minutes. Do NOT use this place. Just peel yourself out of bed and go to your urgent care to pay your straight copay and not deal with hidden fees and bills rolling in 2 years later. I even asked at the time to just pay the $179 "self pay" option instead of insurance and they said no not to worry since insurance covers the flu/covid there would be no other charges coming. Not True. I paid my $50 urgent care copay at the time PLUS another $180 which their website says now years later I owe them another $54.
