I was around the corner at the Foundation Surgical hospital as my wife was having surgery. My sister-in-law, son-in-law and I were in the waiting room, and I decided to show them an incredible knife my son had made for me. It was also incredibly sharp! I pulled it out of the scabbard and managed to cut two fingers in three locations. And one cut was deep, bleeding like a stuck pig. My son in law loaded me up and took me around the corner to Prompt Urgent Care. What a bunch of nice folks. The Dr sewed me up quickly and was so concerned she might be hurting me. You. Couldn't ask for more thoughtful and compassionate people. I just wish this location was close to my home. I was seen at Prompt Urgent Care on Babcock on 1/5/25. I am on Medicare with a Supplement so I should not have to pay anything. They charged me $286.00 and I got no results from the doctor. I waited 3 months to be paid back and nothing. I called and spoke with Malik and the claim had not been filed. He filed it. Two month later, after calling multiple times, I received $121.66, which I had to go down and pick up. Medicare paid $121.66, but the difference between the $286.00 what Medicare paid is $164.34, which is what he should have paid me. I have been calling fd or 2 months to get my money and they are avoiding my calls. I have left message after message with no return call. They offer to send in the mail and I never get it. My mom has Alzheimer's which makes it difficult at times to take her to a medical facility. In this case, she fell and bruised her eye. We didn't know how and when it happened. She was unable to communicate the how, but I knew she needed immediate care. I chose prompt cause of the name and location, and they definitely delivered. The best urgent care I have ever been to in San Antonio. From the Receptionist to the Doctor and the Xray Technician the care, service and bedside manners were excellent. At some point, I got emotional about the load I'm caring with my mom, and the Doctor demonstrated sensitivity and a level of care that you don't see too often these days in the medical field. The only reason why I came here is because my primary care doctor was booked and the employee health clinic at my work was booked. I had been sick for almost 2 weeks with no improvement, so I needed to see a doctor fast. Prompt urgent care came recommended, so I went with them. Let me start off by saying that the staff are very friendly and the wait time was fairly short for a "walk-in" clinic. When I finally get into the exam room, the doctor literally spent only 30 seconds to a minute with me. Not even exaggerating. She wasn't really listening to me and didn't bother look at the current medication list I had to fill out. Pretty much just went off of what I briefly told the MA, wrote me prescriptions, and sent me on my way. Side note: they still write paper prescriptions here. The convenience of sending your prescription electronically makes a big difference in efficiency. Plus most people who come here are probably sick and would prefer to not have to physically drop off their prescription and sit in another wait area. Not really sure why this place has so many good reviews, but I definitely won't be coming back here. read more

It took a few phone calls to get someone to answer the phone. I was interested in getting tested for covid. They were booked for the day but sent me a link via email to register to get tested for the following day. I filled out to information in the link and the following day I received a phone call around 11am, they collected payment information for the $50 COVID testing fee and gave me my appointment time which was 3:10pm. I arrived at 3:08pm and called the phone number to check in while I waited in my car. They checked me in over the phone and someone came to my car at 4:01pm to take my nose swab. I was on my lunch break so I had to leave instead of wait for my results. I received my results via a phone call at 4:27pm. Overall I am very thankful to have been able to get a test, most places are booked far out or are out of tests. The $50 fee was unexpected and waiting an additional 50 mins out from my appointment time was inconvenient but I'm still happy to at least get tested! read more

The doctor here is always amazing. This time they were closing and the front staff came our to the car to let us know. He saw my 10yo daughter crying in the backseat bc she stepped on a fishing hook. He immediately ushered us in bc he said there was no reason for her to have to suffer in pain any longer. The doctor was so kind to my daughter. I recently worked some Contract Labor for this company and was Totally GROSSED OUT with how none of the PATIENT ROOMS are wiped down or Sanitized after each patient visit. It isn't done till the end of the day. The owners are to CHEAP to provide paper for the tables the patients sit on while in the pt rooms .Nothing is sanitized through out the entire day. The floors are mopped with Windex window cleaner, 1oz at that! When patients receive a shot the needle used on them is same one used to draw the medication. They cut lots of corners to save on expenses at the patients cost. Grossed out and Unsanitized. read more

Both of my ears were impacted and one was infected. I tried to schedule an appointment with my primary care but they could not see me for a couple of days. I was able call and was greeted with a very friendly response and told to head right over. I was seen within 10 minutes while they were very busy with COVID curbside testing. I just have a feeling sometimes that I am forgotten about (or my billing is messed up) because I have Tricare (a problem with most providers). I use this for my family over a primary care doctor as the staff and Doctor's attentiveness, knowledge and compassion has superseded anything I've received with my primary. When your or your family are sick, you need to be seen quickly and Prompt Urgent Care will do just that. I even received a personal follow up care call from Dr. Jaffer to see how my infant was doing after our visit. This clinic is always friendly and prompt from the second we walk in the door. They've calmly handled our emergencies and always call the next day to check on our progress. And, much to their credit, I went in one afternoon and mentioned symptoms I was experiencing. (Because this location is in the medical center and my choice of hospitals was 2 traffic lights away, I presented to the ER and was immediately admitted for treatment over the next 11 days for a life-threatening situation I was totally unaware of.) My family and I are covered by Tricare (accepted here) and since this is the closest place to my home, I usually come to this clinic. I've been here close to 10x between myself and my kids--we have never been here longer than an hour and never waited longer than 10 mins. Dr. Jaffer, her PA's and the entire staff are lively, thorough, compassionate and ACTUALLY LISTEN to your issues. We've never had to have repeat visits and they've treated everything for my family running the gamut from ear infections, bronchitis, etc. They also follow up the next day with a courtesy call to see if you're feeling better. I went to Promp Care after a night in the VA ER getting nothing done. I had been to Promp Care previously once and was very satisfied. The VA primary care provider has me scheduled for ONCE a year hence the ER. Promp care takes Medicare and Tricare. My last visit cost 28 bucks in prescriptions only. This time I was seen in 15 minutes by the doctor Dr Jaffer examined and prescribed the necessary medications. She also prescribe an asthma pump I have been asking the VA for months. She LISTENED! Times are hard right now. When I decide to spend my money and been seen by a professional, I expect to be treated with care. The front staff and nurses were polite. The doctor I was seen by was a woman and at first, I thought she was another nurse. She did not introduce herself to me, just walked in and immediately said she was going to give me a strep test. I called over the phone before I went and said I tested negative for Covid twice, so there was no worry. I'm not an idiot, I would not walk into a healthcare facility if I believed I had Covid. I was not examined. My throat has been bothering me for three weeks at this point. She did not ask me about the symptoms I was having. She didn't feel my throat or look at it. Did not listen to me breathing. After I tested negative for strep, she comes back in and tries to tell me that I might have Covid. I explained that I have tested negative twice and it has been three weeks of me feeling this way. I said I have a slight cough at night to try and get her to understand my symptoms. She tries saying it might be Covid, her eyes visibly widened, and she took a step away from me. Of course, now I have to pay an extra $50 dollars on a covid test, even though I know I do not have it. After that came back negative, there was still no questions asked by her and certainly no examination either. She just prescribed me antibiotics and a cough syrup and left the room. I'm disgusted by the level of "care" this woman administers to her patients. I hope she doesn't treat others the same. I left without a diagnosis with a cough syrup I can't even take because I am breastfeeding. I'll spare the other details because this was already a long review. If you expect to be treated with care whilst spending your hard-earned money, I will not recommend this facility. read more

This is mainly for the person at check in. I've been here before in the evening and the lady is more helpful than the daytime staff. Took my husband to get checked and we called earlier as he had never used his out of state insurance and we weren't even sure if it was active. The lady said she would tell us before what it would be if there was a co-pay or deductible if not then it would be $75. After calling the company while we waited they wouldn't tell us what the deductible would be either. The clerk finally told us it would be $145 because of his deductible. That's twice as much as a cash visit so we asked to just pay cash. Well, she didn't let us as she claimed it is illegal to NOT use your insurance. I had NEVER heard of such thing but You bet I also looked it up. Sure enough I couldn't find ANYTHING stating that it's illegal to NOT want to use your insurance. My husband didn't want to go anywhere else so he ended up staying. We don't even know when his insurance will be gone as he is based on a month to month situation with work. Either way, the visit and prescription would have been much cheaper had it been cash but this staff said it was illegal.
