Not having experienced anything like this, I didn't know what to expect. Scheduling was a breeze. I arrived to my first appointment and was taken back to a room after filling out some paperwork for my initial evaluation. My physical therapist, Dr. Bastian, is a godsend. He was thorough in my initial evaluation and listened to my concerns intently and had a ton of helpful information to ease my mind about everything I am going through. I have had several sessions so far and every time I leave, I feel a bit more encouraged and confident. I trust that with his help and my hard work I will recover from this terrible injury. I will definitely be looking forward down the road when I can update this review when I am healed up! The care at Encompass from the nursing staff was prompt and very caring towards my husband. He fractured his pelvis and hip and required a lot of assistance at first. The PT department quickly showed him how to navigate his injury and become mobile again! Can't say enough about their expertise! All call lights were promptly answered by any team member who was walking by and this was incredible! The food was also good which pleased my husband as well. However, Lorena in case management is a GEM! Things kind of got confusing as we were ready to leave as none of the main items we needed at home (bedside commode, wheelchair) were ordered for us. However, Lorena (not our original case manager) stepped in and solved the problem efficiently within 24 hours. Unfortunately, my first experience was very disappointing. My appointment was scheduled for 4:30 PM. By 5:45 PM, I still had not been seen or given an update about the delay. I could hear other patients being checked in and taken to the back, so I eventually stepped out of the room to find out what was going on. One of the representatives asked if I was waiting for the doctor, and I explained that I had been waiting since 4:30. Another representative apologized for the wait and explained that the patients being seen before me were established patients who were there for physical therapy or follow-up appointments. When I was asked if I wanted to reschedule, I declined and explained that this was not a good first impression and that I would be taking my business elsewhere. What was also disappointing was that no one appeared to communicate my concerns to the doctor or let the doctor know that I had left. Unfortunately, this was not a good overall experience, especially for a first-time patient coming in for a consultation. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.
