I can see why the reviews are bad. I'm always optimistic and always give places chances but absolutely not! Walking in, the receptionist Geraldine was very condescending. Very rude disrespectful. I walked in and said we are here for my son's appt that we did online. She immediately asked in a very disrespectful way "who" while giving me this annoyed look and I proceeded to hand her the papers and she didnt say anything. She acted like she was busy when there was no one else but us. It was empty. We still had to wait a long time to get seen. However, Fabian the MA was very caring and respectful. This review is pretty much for all healthcare facilities. It never fails. I hesitate to actually go to the doctor here in the U.S. because it's usually a waste of money and time. Let me add that you also miss school and work for nothing. I wasn't incorrect again. You go in sick or injured and you get no tests or X-rays done, are sent home with no medication, but you've paid your expensive copay and your insurance is billed ridiculously. "It will go away on its own", and in the meantime you can't function or are in much pain. ‍  In Mexico, you go to the doctor, get X-rays, MRIs and full lab or blood work done, and within a few hours have all of the results. You are also given an ACTUAL treatment for weeks to months that RESOLVE your issue.  You also receive instant relief!   How do you explain that, when we, in the U.S., have the latest technology and resources. I know....its all politics and about the money here and not the patient.   It may not be a bad idea to opt out of my private insurances, save the premiums and just travel to Mexico when need be. No wonder no one was here. Worst experience ever. They are EXTREMELY judgemental and act like your pain doesn't matter at all. Can't give you any answers. Had no X-Ray tech on site and said even if I got one they can't guarantee they'd even have an answer. Just wanted to give me pain killers and send me on my way. Regret spending $85 to sit here for 20 minutes have zero answers or help and then be practically kicked out cause they have no idea what's wrong. Im in the worst pain and she barely even did any physical tests just said it's musculoskeletal ans theees not a thing they can do. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Went to this location in spite of bad reviews because it was after hours. The young people on staff were very kind but inexperienced. Prescription was never sent to pharmacy. Never received information with warnings and side effects of meds as we should have. Notes included procedures and tests that weren't done. Received a voicemail earlier today saying oops, we told you the wrong dosage for your meds, any questions call +1 (623) 872-6156. Except that is the number for the NextCare on Northern. I asked them for the direct line to the next care on Estrella but they could only give me the main switchboard. I've called five different times today sitting on hold for 5-10 minutes each. Right now I've been on hold for 21 minutes and counting. I'm never using NextCare again. Edit: Finally got an answer after sitting on hold for 53 minutes. They said they couldn't call in a prescription for amoxicillin because the provider who swabbed her last night wasn't in. I'd have to bring her germy self in and pay another 35 dollars to see a different provider. Edit 2: it's now 6 hours later and the prescription still hasn't shown up at the pharmacy. These clinics are just playing at being doctors. Edit 3: the prescription finally showed up in the Walgreens system the following day as having been sent to their third party mail order pharmacy. Nexcare sucks. Went in there for a possible. The Dr. just said she was not comfortable reducing a dislocated shoulder. She told me to go to the emergency room. If she had taken an X-ray she would have found it was not dislocated and she could have sent me home with a sling just like the ER did. Very incomplete diagnosis and tests. The Dr. after 1.5 hours finally told us to go to emergency room when she could have done it herself. Horrible practice of medicine. read more

Update to a review I did last week. Last week, I was given a prescription for 5 days, awaiting test results. I finished the prescription, but not completely over the symptoms of the infection. I received a call from NextCare today stating that the results came back, I indeed have an infection, continue with meds, they say. I told her that, although better, I still have symptoms of the infection and I finished the med in the five days prescribed. I asked if they would extend the prescription, and was told no, to follow up with my primary care or a specialist. The reason I went to urgent care in the first place was because I couldn't get in to see my primary care anytime soon. So, I continue to live with the infection until weeks from now when I can see my primary care? No other solution, no explanation? It's not like the medication they gave me were steroids or opioids. Terrible experience here. We had an appt for a sports physical and were the only patients in the office. It took over an hour to be seen. Staff was not friendly or professional and we heard them goofing off in the exam room. They appear to be clueless. If I had a serious injury or illness I would NOT trust these people to treat me or a loved one. read more

This is by far the most dangerous and unprofessional health care facility I've ever been to. Went in experiencing extreme, distressing pain when laying flat. Younger guy (NP?) was dismissive and rude, and then tried to make me lay flat for an ECG. Refused to allow me to sit up, and tried to tell me you have to be laying flat for an ECG and refused to treat me if I wouldn't lay flat. I left. I immediately went to the ER, which did not force me to lay flat... because it's completely unnecessary for an ECG. Then I received multiple ECG (also while sitting up) over the 3 days I spent in the hospital after being diagnosed with pericarditis; primary symptom of which being, you can probably already guess, extreme pain when laying flat. I have a long medical history and a congenital illness, and I've spent a lot of time in various medical facilities. I've never been treated so poorly in my life. read more

Based on my experiences, this location is bias toward some groups. This is my third time at this location and I wrote off the first two bad experiences as "the staff were just having a bad day". I had an appt today and waited over an hour while all walk-ins were prioritized ahead of me. Do yourself a favor, don't go here if you want to be respected. Alliance Urgent Care on Estrella Pkwy and I-10 is a better choice. They treat their patients fairly and efficiently. read more

Worst place to come to when you need immediate help. Righ away as soon as I walked in, I was seen as a germ as I just grabbed a tissue for my nose as my allergies are always out of wack. I'm allergic to Palo Verde trees. The woman at the front desk right away told me that I couldn't be seen as I was showing to be asymptomatic. I tried to explain to her that it was my allergies but she just ubruptly shook her head and said it doesn't matter. She went to check with the physican to see if it still was ok but came back and said I couldn't be seen. I had other things I needed to get seen for asap as I'm trying to complete a checklist for pre employment physicals..etc. I asked if I can get a flu shot, she immediately looked upset that I even asked. Then rebutted with " we don't have it." Then she immediately asked "for what year? We only have last years not this years" after that I couldn't even hear myself and it started to get loud with the other front desk lady purposely talking over me as if I was being rude to begin with. I can't stand a business treating willing to be paying customers like a nuesance. No wonder they had this huge sign. They must get frustrated customers often. read more

FIRST DO NO HARM!! If you fear of doing your job, move on NextCare Staff! Definitely daunting experience. Public: DON'T GET DUPE BECAUSE ITS IN ESTRELLA MOUNTAIN, the staff definitely has to be replaced including the receptionist. Moreover, they have posted a sign "will not tolerate any hostility towards staff!" Look whose calling the kettle black! I personally left with a horrible experience and no antibiotics to help my symptoms I have been dealing with for days. Yet, it was like a slap in the face. I waited longer to be seen, than seen. I been experiencing severe upper respiratory. Came home feeling awful, after a couple of nose swabs they honestly thought they did their job. The RN (was so cold, he didn't even call out my numbers, I know I was feverish, he did not marked my temperature correctly. These two RN & (Dr. Canton) need to be replaced immediately with professional skilled workers to guarantee the community medical care they deserved! Again, YOU deserve to be treated with respect, to be validated, and to be heard. Please, never feel like there is nothing you can do. And remember, no one is a better advocate for you than you. staff are not trained or qualified to read x rays. I went to the Estrella location for a sports injury to my foot. I received an exam and an x ray and was told I had a sprain. Two weeks later my pain was not any better and I went to my primary care provider who explained that the urgent care staff could not read x rays correctly, so I was sent to a professional imaging center. I learned my foot was broken. I was referred to a foot specialist who explained that this error was serious enough that It may have cost me a surgery. Please reconsider using this facility if you are concerned you may need an x ray. read more

Do NOT go here if you think you may need imaging. They will make you find a radiologist and make your own appt. They will not followup to get test results even after you've called multiple times for assistance, and they do not return your calls when you need the doctor to review the results. We have been waiting for 2 weeks for someone to read an ultrasound report and tell us what to do next!! The imaging center won't communicate with the medical facility and the medical facility won't communicate with imaging center. No one gives a damn. read more

Went to this location because it's close to home back in June. I won't comment about staff which was about average for a medical office. As a retired first responder I know a bit about signs and symptoms. I explained to the R/n or doctor my illness. She ordered tests and xrays. And her conclusion was pneumonia. I wanted to be tested for valley fever because based on my symptoms, being in june, and not having contact with anyone I had ruled out pneumonia. But I took her advice and took antibiotics she prescribed. My condition was getting worse to point I went to the ER in a different network and asked to be tested for Valley Fever. The results came back positive. This is really where my problem with nextcare starts. I had verified that they were in my plan network. the receptionist told me that the doctor and exam may be billed separately, but since I verified they were in network and they verified my coverage no-problem I thought its covered. A month later I started getting bills from nextcare. I called the number on the bill which was the main call center, i was on hold for over 30mins and then the call dropped. tried next day same thing, no one picked up and ended up being in a loop. I called my plan, gave them the billing acct number and was told nextcare Never submitted a bill. Then I called the location directly, and was transferred to the billing center again. This is what I was told. "when they scanned my medical insurance card the last two digits were unreadable"- but they have my address and phone # and also my medical plans phone# But never contacted. So they recollected my insurance info. here we are in december and I'm still getting billed. Called my Insurance and they say nextcare never submitted a claim to them they chose to just bill me. I payed the bill to end the hassle. Never will I set-foot in a Nextcare facility again. read more

Started with Nathan for my vitals and to go over my meds list- which is long for my age. He was very kind and understanding. He told me what to expect and what was next. Then the provider came to check me, Dr Kent. He was wonderful. Great bedside manners, answered all of my questions. He let me know that my test results will be in the next day. I have been here for myself with no issues, but today I brought my one year old in due to the wait at PCH urgent care. My issue is that the tech who did his vitals put down a false respiration count, this is an issue because the doctor is trusting them to give them a good snap shot of what's going on. He said his respiratory rate was 25, I was counting his rate while waiting and he's hovering around 48-50 which has been the case while he's been sick, that's a huge difference. Just please make sure to check your discharge papers because that's how I found out. Hoping his medication helps or we will be waiting for the long wait at PCH, but I now know better than to bring my kids here. read more

I've been to this facility three times over the course of about a year for a variety of reasons. The facility is nice and modern and the waiting room is pleasant enough. The front desk staff is professional and courteous. Although my first visit was positive, the final two times have been far from a good experience. There is one physician's assistant who works in the facility at a time, no matter how many people are in the waiting room. You have the option to make an appointment online, but there is no guarantee that you will be seen at the time or any time around then. My most recent appointment was set for 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon. However, I wasn't taken back to the intake room until 3:15. I wasn't seen by the PA until shortly after 4. The facility closed at 4 on Sunday afternoon. The PA rushed through the appointment, obviously in a rush to leave work. He didn't acknowledge that I'd been waiting for almost two hours at that point for an appointment that turned out to be three minutes long. After leaving the room, I heard the PA apologize to the receptionist for running past 4. The PA told her "I'm trying to get this guy out of here," as though I was some dude hanging around. The final straw was the PA wrote a paper prescription that could only be filled at the pharmacy electronically. Of course, by the time I discovered that, the office was closed and I was out of luck until the next day. read more

I asked them to correct it 3 times. They said if I didn't pay the current bill, they would send me to collections. read more

I took my son in after two days of fever, cough, runny nose, and crying that his ears hurt. I have been to other Nextcare locations multiple times with no issues, so I didn't think anything of it when I made his appointment. BOY, was I in for a rude awaking! By far, the most uncaring, unprofessional, dismissive PA, that I have ever encountered. After a short wait in the exam room, he came in, introduced himself, asked the reason for the visit, and proceeded to examine my sons ears. He looks in the left, and quote for quote, tells me "there is too much ear wax to see anything.", proceeds to right ear. "This ear is red and infected. Have you been giving him anything for this?" Other than over the counter pain medicine, for the fever and pain, no, I have not. He says okay. Well another way to tell if he has an ear infection is to feel his glands. First off, I don't need to feel my sons glands to know whether or not he is sick and has an ear infection. I can tell by his demeanor, fussiness, oh and the ONE RED FLAG that always indicates an infection... FEVER!! Regardless, I can not treat his ear infection without an antibiotic as it as progressed too far. So to wrap up, he asked if my son was allergic to anything, to which I replied amoxicillin. He is sensitive to it. I tell him the last couple times he had an ear infection, he was prescribed Cefdinir. Again, quote on quote, "So he can take that and does fine but not amoxicillin because it's the same thing, okay I will send it in." This entire conversation and exam was done in less than five minutes. He walked out, I gathered my stuff, and he was sitting at the desk. I wanted to confirm he was sending it right over, otherwise I would have asked for a written copy as I was on my way to the pharmacy right after the appointment. So I walk by the desk and asked him if he would be sending it right over. If you have ever bothered someone that didn't want to be bothered and could see it plain on their face, that was definitely him. He was so rude and sarcastic when he answered. At this point my blood was boiling and I was doing everything to keep it together. I ended up just walking out. Absolute disgust! He should not be in the medical field. I followed up with my son's pediatrician and she was speechless by our encounter. She first confirmed that he should have cleaned the ear out to see if there was an infection. And then she confirmed that Amoxicillin and Cefdinir are not in the same drug category. The real kicker comes when she starts the exam. She started with his right ear, which was pink and then moved to the left. Guess what, NO wax. None! She could see in it just fine. He also was not tested for the Flu or COVID at urgent care, which again, she could not believe considering all of his symptoms and how long they have been going on. Well, you guess it, he was tested and POSITIVE for Influenza A. Wow!!! I am shocked! At this point. he has already been taking Cefdinir, so she did not want to switch his medicine, but definitely didn't believe it should have been prescribed in the first place without further examination by this PA we saw. I would give this location a 0 if it would let me. I normally go to the location on McDowell in Avondale and always have an overall good experience and would definitely recommend that location over this location. Here is my experience.... I came to this location because I called nextcare customer care and they said based on my needs and the amount of people this would be the best location for me at that time. My son had hurt his ankle very badly the evening before playing baseball. At this point he was in a lot of pain and couldn't walk on his foot. We needed an X-ray to see if there were any breaks or it was a sprain. When we arrived there was no one there. One person looked like they were waiting in their car. No one in the waiting room and practically no cars in the parking lot. I could barely get my son inside because he couldn't walk he had to hop, and he's a big kid. The lady at the desk with no compassion or concern said that they were already at capacity for X-rays at 1pm in the afternoon and that I'd have to go elsewhere. I explained to her that I had called ahead of time and she repeated herself over and over again like a robot no matter what I said. At that point I was visibly upset and raised my voice and explained to her how much pain my son was in and that he couldn't even walk. She once again ignored me and called someone from the back. He came out to speak to me with the very same attitude and said that the X-ray tech goes home at 2pm and that there were 5 people ahead of me.... With no cars or people in the waiting room...this location was small and I highly doubt that there were even 5 rooms behind the doors. He very rudely said "what do you expect me to do...put you in front of the other 5 people!" My son and I left at that point. I could barely get him back to the car. This person didn't offer to help or even open the door. I understand things are tough right now but these people had no compassion and should not be in the profession they are in if they don't want to help people! read more

What a horrible experience. I am an RN and have worked as an executive administrator in hospitals for over 20 years. When an urgent care cannot manage an ear infection and sore throat, there is a problem. The PAs at this clinic refuse to treat appropriately and the patient suffers, as a result. One PA whose name is Clinton is a real ass. He would not return my call, would not prescribe an antibiotic for my throbbing and painful ears and the other PA prescribed Claritin D. My nose bled as a result.. I suffered for days while others with similar symptoms were treated with steroids, antibiotics, pain meds and such. I have reported Clinton for his outlandish behavior and have yet to hear from the MD he reports, too. As a professional in the field, my advice is to stay away from this urgent care. There are several others to choose from who will respond to your phone calls and treat your condition appropriately. NO STARS. Karma will catch up with Clinton and may he suffer as he has caused others to suffer. read more

Went in on Christmas Eve and was seen very quickly. The staff was very friendly and professional and got me in and out as soon as possible!

I don't normally like to do this, but when I'm being screwed I tend to raise an objection. I went in today to receive a Return to Work release for Covid (it was a continuation from another Nextcare location) and they charged me $190 for a 10 minute consult-all they did was take my blood pressure, listen to my breathing and print me up the 1 page release. When I asked for an itemized bill for the charges, the lady at the front desk told me that she wasn't able to do it due to computer system restrictions. If I hadn't been in a bind and needed it that day, I would have walked out and went somewhere else. They were nice enough people, but where's their employer's ethical barometer? Maybe they think that they're special, being medical "professionals" and all, but a chimp could have done what they did for the price of a couple bananas.... read more

I have came to this office a few times and each time Was better than before. They don't try to "over diagnose" and are not afraid to treat or help a toddler aged child. ( I've been to a few urgent cares to only be turned away and sent to PCH ) They make my shy 5year old feel comfortable even when she's feeling her worst. I used the online check in system and visit took a little less than an hour. Most was to wait on testing, no complaints with office. Would be great if hours were extended to 24 but glad we have one so far out. read more
