I highly recommend Dr. Julie Crawford of Estrella Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She is by far the most caring, thorough doctor I have ever had - and I've kind of had a lot of doctors. :-) Both Dr. Crawford and Dr. Johnson are board certified internists and pediatricians, so you may be waiting in a room with Nemo on the wall - which I find charming. My daughter is 7 years old and has been with Estrella Internal Medicine and Pediatrics since she was released from the NICU. We love the staff so much, we now all use them as our PCP. We drive over an hour and a half to see them. We never have to wait long to be seen, as a matter of fact, if we get there early, we are usually seen early. The staff is always friendly and professional and always acknowledge us, even when they see us in public. They have spoiled us for other offices! read more

We take our daughter here and love love the staff. We usually see the PA Eryn (sp?) and she is great with our kiddo. The MAs are also great there. I can call and ask a question about something regarding our daughter and get a prompt response if not then and there when i call. As a first time parent, that is quite a blessing! So it is a little strange that old people and younglings go to the same office but if you can get past that, it's totally worth going, especially if you live in the area. The staff is great and so is our daughter's board certified pediatrician, Dr. Johnson. They are not particularly pushy about one opinion or another which I feel like is a good thing. read more

Terrible experience and will never be back with my family! After speaking with some lady in billing over the phone, she explained to me that whoever the lady in the doctors office was that said she would "update my new insurance" never did and should have never taken my information or card. This is scary because it sounds like they did something fraudulent with my daughters information!!! To top it off the customer service in office from reception and over the phone with reception and billing is horrific!! They have no common courtesy or manners... the lady I spoke to today from billing yelled at me and was speaking over me to where I couldn't even answer her questions.... I am beyond baffled at how this medical group runs things and hope that either they learn and get wayyyyy better or just shut down to save other people the headache of dealing with incompetent and rude people! read more

WATCH OUT! You will get billed for services and by insurance codes that are not accurate and make this practice more money. When I was there for my appointment an elderly gentlemen was in the office complaining because he was charged for services he did not receive and his medicare did not cover. I thought that was a red flag and it was. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!!! I will be taking every action necessary to rectify this and I hope you learn from my review and stay away from these unethical doctors that are referencing codes for your appointment that make THEM the most money and then it comes out of YOUR pocket later!!!!! I was diagnosed with prostatitis and given a 23 day course of cipro. The Dr. advised me NOT TO STOP even if I felt better due to the nature of my diagnosis. After 5 days on Cipro I started suffering side-effects. The Dr. did not take advise me on any side-effects at all, not a single one to look for. I called and asked to speak with my Dr. They said she was on vacation. They advise a doctor would review my case and call me. They said stop taking the medicine, I told them I already had for 3 day and that I still have they same symptoms.(23 day course of antibiotics) They advised to wait some more time. I said that doesn't make sense when my Dr. strongly advised I don't stop the medicine EVEN IF I FELT BETTER, which I clearly told them I DIDN'T FEEL BETTER. I asked for a different antibiotic to treat my ailment. They did nothing for me other that advise that my Dr would be back from vacation in a week. I waited.... I called back today and more incompetent staff handling my phone calls. I asked to have the Dr call me, they said to come into the office. I don't need to come into the office, have the Dr call me. These people are morons!! Its simple, I stopped taking the prescIribed medicine 5 days into a 23 day regimen. I asked for an alternative to be prescribed and I got a bullsh!t run around with nobody wanting to take responsibility. The day my Dr. returns from vacation I make request for a call back and they again refuse stating I need to return for an appointment!! WTF is a matter with these idiots. If your reading this please note, THE DR NEVER CALLED BACK, NEVER ACKNOWLEDGE MY REQUEST and WENT AGAINST HER OWN GOD DAMN MEDICAL OPINION!!! People is plain and simple, if you value your health, you value your time stay away from this archaic practice. BEWARE!!!! Shady billing practices! Don't go here!!! I had high hopes for this place, because of all the great reviews. I went for my sons 1yr checkup which my insurance considers preventative, meaning I have zero copay. During the exam dr burkowitz noticed my son had retractive testes and spent an extra minute checking out before referring us to a specialist. 2 months later I received a bill with the coding for a dr visit and asking for a copay. After calling and talking to rude office staff and office mgr they told me the dr stands by double billing me and my insurance company. I was NEVER told that because he took an extra 1 minute that my insurance company AND I would now be billed for both preventative visit AND a regular office visit, even tho we only went in the one time for preventative care. Needless to say I'm still looking for a good dr. BEWARE of dr burkowitz and his shady ways of billing AND rude staff! Oh and the room we were in was FILTHY. Yuck! We have been going there for several years and really enjoy them.. All of the staff are very friendly. Appointments are pretty easy to get. Today I had an issue with my abdomen and although I didn't think it was serious I wanted to check to see if it was important since I would be out of the country for awhile. I got in in the morning and they had me get a blood test and ultrasound at two local clinics. The clinics were able to do the tests and got the results back to Estrella by close of business. Half an hour after closing time, I got a call from the PA and gave me the good results. I'm very happy how they went out of their way. A loyal patient. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Johnson's since 2000. I have three kids - 10,3,2 that have all seen him since they were babies. Occasionally we see Lindsey Michaud or Dr. Crawford if it is a last minute appointment. They are all AWESOME!!! Their nurses are very kid-friendly as well. It is very convenient that my whole family uses the same doctor's office, which has kid-themed "murals" in some rooms. I have referred several people I work with to these doctors - one has special needs - and they have all been happy. read more

Highly recommend Dr. Julie Crawford and Dr. Kent Johnson. They can almost always squeeze me in last minute when I put off going, but need to get in. The thing we enjoy most is that they treat the whole family, not just the kids. It is nice to have the staff know you and an office where everyone can be seen. After reading some of the reviews on here about this practice I decided to call to attempt to get some information about the practice as well as possibly schedule a prenatal visit to possibly bring in my soon to be newborn here. I was given a wrong website to go to and told that they did have prenatal visits but didn't have any until the end of the month. The woman whom I spoke to didn't care to ask which hospital I was going to deliver in, what my insurance was, etc. I was under the impression that she just wanted to hang up the phone. My family has been going here for nearly six years. I have to say that the office staff is very professional and easy to work with, and getting prescriptions straightened out is much easier here than any other doctor's office I've used. Wait times are always very short, the office is pleasant, and I think that our medical needs are adequately addressed. My one concern is that in the whole time I've been a patient here, I have seen Dr. Johnson once (he was just passing through) and have been treated primarily by PAs. I know that they are likely very knowledgeable, but I don't think being billed as being seen by Dr. Johnson when actually a non-MD was seen is not really ethical, to be honest. We once had a pediatrician when we lived out of state who actually built relationships with her patients and it is disheartening to me that the person who I've entrusted my children's health to is a total stranger. I probably wouldn't recognize him on the street, to be honest. Nonetheless, unless I am able to discover an office as well run as this one with a doctor who is consistently present...we will likely remain with this one. read more

These guys are awesome! I just moved to the area and needed an 18 month well baby exam for my daughter. I was very reluctant to go to a new office and did a *ton* of research before finally making the appointment (though I did struggle to find any recommendations for pediatricians in the area). I finally settled on Estrella Ped. because they were close by and had a few good reviews (though they were both for Dr. Crawford who is no longer with the practice). To begin, whoever answers the phones is one of the most competent front office staffers I have ever spoken to! She was able to answer all of my questions and was super friendly and helpful (and I probably called at least 4 times with questions). The MA we had (Sonja, I believe) was great with my daughter! She was super friendly, quick, gentle and highly competent. Dealing with squirmy toddlers has got to be a challenge, but she got everything done before my daughter even knew what hit her. For the actual visit, we saw Jenna, one of the PA's. She too was great- did the exam, answered all of our questions, was super nice and friendly and never made us feel rushed. I am pregnant with my second child now and have no hesitations about taking the whole family back- this is a great office! read more

I have been a patient for almost a year and asked to speak with the manager Pam in regards to the fact that I have been sick for a week and can't get into the office. I called three times and spoke to Laura that insisted my last name so "she could look up my file", what does she need to see other than me asking for the manager. I was livid that they just keep sending me back to Urgent Care because it costs more money in co-pays with my insurance. I am tired of being sick, I went to the Urgent Care center Wednesday of last week. I was given antibiotics that haven't worked yet, I have been taking them for almost a week. I wanted a letter from the office stating to my employer that they are unable to get me in the office due to full appointments scheduled. Laura stated to me that they can't do that, WHY? I am sick I need something for work and they are refusing to see me, she then left another message on my phone claiming I am a new patient, these people don't even know who there patients are, seriously. Laura stated that Pam was not in the office today as she had left, Pam called me back at 11;40 a.m. and left a message with a rude ending. I would not recommend this as it seems that they like to play games with patients health, I take it serious when I am sick because I never usually get sick and when I do I can't get into the office. Urgent Care does not know anything about my history but at least they called three days after my visit to see how I was doing. When I let them know that I am still sick they said to call my primary care physician or come back in. As you can see it seems to be back and forth with this and I can't seem to get a simple diagnosis! Please someone get me some care without having to fuse back and forth, as I stated my family will no longer be going to this office as it is extremely ridiculous. read more
