I was feeling unwell and some of my feelings reminded me of the first and only time I got COVID back in 2023. So, I haphazardly scheduled a 2pm appointment while trying to leave my house at 145. For once in my time in San Antonio, everyone on Huebner decided to obey the speed limit. Somehow I managed to make it by 201pm. Online scheduling was a breeze and all my info was still in there from that last time I came in with the same symptoms. The front desk staff that checked me in was professional and friendly. She politely asked if she was saying my last name correctly which I appreciated (I've been called many last names in my life). The staff that called me back, I think she said her name was Lye (?), was super nice. She took my symptoms down, took my blood pressure, and explained that COVID is on the rise again since school was back in session. She explained how symptoms are presenting and I knew exactly how I contracted it. Then I was seen by either a PA or NP. He was fast and efficient, but a little difficult to understand. Maybe in my brain fog state, I couldn't follow his fast talking. The sent my prescription to HEB and I was on my way. The facility was quiet, clean, and felt relaxing. I was in and out within 35 minutes. I hope I don't have to come back, but I'm glad to know it's close by if I need it. read more

This is the second appointment during the week we scheduled ahead. We pull in and check the waiting list. There are 2 people ahead of us and the phone rings 10 minutes before my 1300 appointment. The person on the other end of the phone says "our computers are down and so are our systems". We only have tele health services. I said that's great! I will sit in my car and wait for my turn for telegraph. She then corrects herself and says they don't have a doctor. I asked how long their entire system has been down and she says 30 minutes. I made my appointment through the patient portal online at 1340 sitting in my in the driveway. It took me 4 minutes to get here and I was in the portal (that doesn't work) the entire time. Just be honest, tell the trust. We love next care but once is enough, twice is too much and poor management read more

The doctors & medical assistants at this clinic are exceptional--knowledgeable, caring & truly dedicated to patient well-being. Their expertise & compassion make every visit worthwhile. However, the front office staff leaves much to be desired. Patients should feel valued, not like interruptions to personal conversations or office tasks. A medical practice exists because of its patients & a little courtesy, efficiency & professionalism from the administrative team would go a long way in making the patient experience as excellent as the medical care itself. I was repeatedly told that if you require labs, there is no wait. I waited 15 minutes today after signing in & when I checked in on where they were calling me, I received the response, "Well, look at this stack in front of you--when you just walk in without an appointment, you are treated as such, as a walk-in & we'll get to you when we can." Whoa. A response like that would make me want to find a different office. But I love my doctor. They need to replace the front office workers with people who know how to serve others & not treat their job like another entitlement they have. I sincerely hope the office staff recognizes the importance of serving patients with respect as the doctors & assistants here deserve a front desk team that reflects their own high standards. read more

This place used to be great. Over the years, they've just gotten progressively worse. You make an appointment , fill out paperwork and check in on the app and will still have OVER an hour wait EVERY single time. I kept coming back because it's close to my house but today is the last day. I'd prefer them to be honest and let you know if they're running behind so you can gauge if you want to stay or not but when I ask I'm repeatedly told you're next. Nextcare Urgent Care 1604 @ Huebner Rd. Their website stated they were closed until noon due to inclement weather. Made an online appointment through their website for my husband at 12:40 pm. An hour prior to his appointment he got a text appointment reminder. He arrived to find the building locked with no one there. Around 3 pm he received a text encouraging him to reschedule his appointment, but received no acknowledgement or apology for being closed for his initial appointment. No thank you on the rescheduling. This may be an isolated event but at least take down your online appointment scheduling if you are closed. read more

This place is so inefficient. I called them bc my husband needed a COVID test. I wasn't sure what the procedure was. Go in or not? The woman on the phone said, " Sure come on in, as long as you're here before 7 you'll be seen". We get there. You don't go in to check in. You check in online. I do the procedure. They call me 3 minutes later stating " It will be 2.5 hours before we can see you. Do you want to wait?" I asked why they couldn't tell me this when I called just 20 minutes earlier? She didn't really answer that but told us we would " Wait in the car for 2 hours". I said " Okay we'll be back in 2 hours then". She said if you drive off you will need to cancel!" I don't think they're really interested in making this easy or at least clear to the CUSTOMERS! Oscar insurance is Very good about providing information for urgent care options within network. I'm my search for Covid rapid testing I cross checked the city list with my insurance of covered options to find Impact as the closest option. My neighborhood location had zero appointments within 24 hours so I decided to come to the Huebner location as they did have a few appt options on the website. Please note that though the Google search will say they Don't require appt the website states due to demand they are seeing walk in options for Urgent Care needs only (aka boo boos). You "check in" to reserve a time slot to be seen via the website. The next appt was 9:15. My text confirmation stated 9:30 to be seen I called them at 9:38 about my appt since the papers on the door state to call them for assistance. Doors Are Locked! So you don't have much choice. The gentleman I talked to said they don't have any rapid tests available (despite the website stating the Appointment I booked was for rapid since the option for regular send out version didn't have any appointments even listed), and that they could do a PCR but he didn't even know why Oscar was referring me to them for rapid since they don't cover it. Now in dialing to Oscar on several occasions they cover All versions of testing that are FDA cleared (which the only authorized versions of the test are all currently approved, per the Oscar rep) and that if it was out of Network they would just need to call Oscar to get pre-authorization for the testing (and would need to answer a few questions about the test to verify its "covered"). So... Yeah. I ended up staying to do the PCR version. An hour later, and 3 other cars in the parking lot, I'm still waiting outside to be asked in for a 20 second administered test... read more

Tried to schedule online, no appointments available, but it said "Walk in available." So we went. Doors are locked. Called the number, very rude employee told us to make an appointment, then hung up. Called again and explained none were available, same rude lady said "well, try tomorrow," and hung up again. Awesome way to treat potential clients. Never mind we were trying to access SYMPTOMATIC COVID TESTING. Train your employees to assess patients properly. This IS a legal issue. read more

Came in for a sore throat - suspected it might be strep. Prior to arriving I did all my pre visit forms online and got there 15 minutes before my appointment time. Waiting room only had one other patient waiting. Ended up waiting an hour plus. No sense of mission or customer awareness by staff. Execution sucks. It seems that no matter where you go these days mediocrity is the best one can hope for. read more

My boss recommended that I get Covid tested here. When I went they told me they were only testing two people an hour but that didn't really matter because I added my name to the list which I could track from my phone so I went home. When it was my place in line they called me in allowed me to drive five minutes to my Covid testing. The people who help me, one of which being Rahaei PAC, Joshua was extremely friendly and also provided me with a prescription for my symptoms. Which of course I appreciated because drive-through testing lines do not provide this option. I will be getting my testing done from here from now on. read more

The Pa, np dr or whatever she is lacks urgency and professionalism I can clearly hear her walking around talking, laughing and making jokes with staff. Do not go to this lo- made online appointment for 8am and arrived at 7:55, and sat for 15 min finally asked the young lady why haven't they called me up. She replied the receptionist was running late, and that the doctor had not arrived either. I told them the whole reason why you make an appointment was so that you could get things done throughout the day, this used to be a very efficient ran location but I will never go there again. read more

After trying to enter the building we were required to stay outside and fill out online registration. The medical staff left us outside without any contact for 45 minutes knowing our situation. I had been fighting sinus infection symptoms for over a week but thought it would just go away. When I finally gave in, I knew the last thing I wanted was to go to Texas MedClinic. So, I remembered I had seen Impact Urgent Care while driving to my girlfriend's parents house. My visit took place on a Sunday afternoon around 1:00pm. When I walked in I was the only one there and was seen instantly. I filled out all of my paperwork on an iMac which was awesome. Dr. Ratner came and personally escorted me back to the exam room. He told me they had just opened in May because he was tired of being an on-call ER doc. He took the time to explain everything to me and even asked me questions about myself. He was awesome. My whole experience with Impact was phenomenal and certainly the best urgent care experience I've ever had. Even the nursing staff was friendly and going out of their way to make my visit timely and comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who needs to see a doctor quickly and who values good service. read more

This place was shockingly, SHOCKINGLY horrible. I made an appointment for three pm to get a Covid test. When I got there I was told there was one person in front of me. After seeing five people go, and I still hadn't been called i was kind of confused. After waiting for an hour I finally got seen. When they were talking my vitals in the back I heard on employee as another the name of the patient who just left and the girl she was talking to said, "who cares" and the both started giggling. They were extremely rude. I was told my test results would come back in one to two days. It took five. I will not be coming here again. The staff was just insanely rude, and hearing them make fun a patient.. I'd rather stay sick than go to this place. read more

This urgent care clinic was once my first choice for minor needs and other routine "maintenance" for times when a trip to my PCP in Austin wasn't necessary or practical. Since moving to their new location at Huebner & 1604, however, their service has become remarkably less patient-oriented and much more like a medicine mill dedicated to impersonal interactions. The staff was sweet; however sweet wasn't going to save me. In addition to previously sending me to collections for a bill I never knew about, messing up my billing, and forgetting about me in the room causing me to wait an extra 30 minutes while losing pay, I was completely misdiagnosed...even after questioning the diagnosis the next day in a voice message after symptoms changed, they still stuck to it and gave me a generic answer after the doctor said I should go back to see him if it changed/got worse. I guess that was an empty invitation. Needless to say, I was glad I went to the ER at BAMC for a second opinion because they knew what it was just by looking at me and they had to keep me 2 days in the hospital for observation. If I had followed the instructions from Impact, I could've been subject to debilitating surgery, lost both arms and/or had kidney failure. I'll drive an extra 20 miles to avoid this place...never again. read more

Went to get seen because my wife needed BASIC VITALS to be checked, and the BLONDE HAIR HISPANIC WOMAN at the front desk was extremely rude. Even though we made an appointment, tried to provide insurance, called OUR insurance to make sure we were going to a place that would be covered, The BLONDE HAIR HISPANIC WOMAN declined Us service at the POSSIBILITY of us not being in network. And when provided a number for authorization, STILL DENIED SERVICE and continued her rude gestures at refusing to help. An urgent care only need the insurance card, and THEN THEY, the urgent care, calls the number on the card for authorization for coverage. When my test results came back positive for the delta variant of COVID-19 the physician recommended I take mucinex, and alternate taking Tylenol and Advil for my fever and headache and wished me luck. I asked if he was going to prescribe any medications and he said no. He told to me to go to the ER if my symptoms worsened...which they did because of his negligence. I had to be admitted to the hospital for treatment. Rather than follow ethical guidelines he is sworn to uphold, he withheld treatment. read more

My son went there for his first independent MD visit. He heard the staff laughing at him outside the door. I was on hold 20 min waiting to talk to someone about his results and the allergic reaction he is having to the antibiotic. Will not be returning. I finally talked to a live person at the clinic and then got transferred and the call dropped. So after 30 minutes no results. So 2 hrs later spoke with the manager and relayed our experience. What a joke this place is! Their cash price is $350 for a visit with a PA, but if you sign up for their special discount program it's $190, which is WAY more than a typical reimbursement. I can have a PA come to my house for $150 and skip their rude and uninformed office staff. Stay away from this bush league joke of a place. Even if their prices were competitive, their atrocious customer service would cause me to never want to go back. Thankful for the kind staff member who told me to go to Prestige which is right down the street, which was an EXCELLENT experience - there was no wait, the customer service was top notch and it was cheaper. She went in yesterday afternoon for what she believed to be covid and he made some very unprofessional comments to her about how she may have contracted it. I'd been to Impact for an injured toe before and received excellent care. Made an online appt today after injuring my foot again, and when I got there (early), I was told that they "were still a walk in clinic" and that my wait would exceed an hour. With a pulsing toe, I asked them to cancel my appointment and I hobbled down the highway to another facility who saw me within 15 minutes of making an appointment. Suggestion: if you're not honoring appointments as a priority, then simply call it an online check in and that you're in the queue. Don't call it an appointment if you're just in the line. read more
