I was then told, "we are about to close...so..." I asked, "so you will not see me?" She said, "no, I can schedule you for tomorrow" I replied, "so... walk-ins are welcome" she simply said, "NO!" ALSO the place was E M P T Y, empty!! She continued to roll here eyes and mumble something under her breath when I decided to take photos for my review and document her just in case this goes against company policy. The Antichrist isn't supposed to fall ill, yet I did just that nearly a month ago. I awoke one morning with a scratchy throat, body aches, congestion, and a fever of 102. I detest going to doctors lest they take a blood sample and discover jackal DNA, but I had no choice this time; The Beast is supposed to spread pestilence and disease, but he cares too much for his long-suffering parents and colleagues to expose them to COVID-19 (a distinct possibility given my symptoms). I searched online for nearby med clinics and found this place located only ten minutes from my home. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the location, the prompt service, and the overall care I received. When I arrived, I expected an inordinately long wait (the norm for doctor's offices, I've found), yet the doctor admitted me only a few minutes after I completed the online consent forms. I'm absurdly neurotic and iatrophobic, so the minimal wait time helped quell my anxiety. The doctor I saw was friendly and ingratiating. When I requested a few moments to meditate and relax prior to getting my blood pressure checked, he was patient and reassuring. My blood pressure and pulse were still ridiculously high (I should be dead) but comparatively low by my standards. I attribute that lower-than-average reading to his bedside manner. I feared that I had contracted COVID, but he suggested that my symptoms were more in line with the flu. Nevertheless, he swabbed my nostrils for both viruses (an unpleasant procedure, I assure you) and later determined that I had neither. I had what he termed an "unspecified flu-like respiratory virus" that would likely clear up in a few days. That was a relief! If you live near Helotes and find yourself in need of non-emergency medical attention, then I would highly recommend visiting this FastMed location. The staff were friendly, the place was immaculate, and the quality of service was among the best I've ever experienced at a medical facility. Takes ages to even get yourself checked in. What is the purpose of having a receptionist, if she just makes you check yourself in on an old iPad that doesn't upload your documents correctly. Then expect to wait an hour to be called into a room, then they leave you for another half hour for the "doctor" to come in. Then your prescribed something in less than 5 minutes and left to wait another half hour as they "type up and send your order" ridiculous, wasted my time, do not go here. read more

I walked in at 7:40pm to be seen for a possible broken thumb and they don't take walk-Ins after 7pm! It doesn't state that anywhere! It clearly says "Walk-ins Welcome". Then they referred me to Texas Med Clinic!! read more

This place is absolutely Filthy!! Blood on the walls, substances splashed on the exam tables, paint chipping off the scuffed and dirty walls, floors and doors. If you come here expect to leave with an incurable infection! The desk clerk is unable to multitask and the wait time is stupid long....this place SUCKS. read more

I searched for a medclinic with good reviews and this seemed like the best option. I do not have health insurance and so I appreciated the clarity of pricing they gave me at the get-go. It was $215 for the appointment which included tests. They tested for strep throat, flu and gave me an albuterol treatment for my cough while there. The front desk receptionist was not very warm/friendly however the nurse practitioner D.Vlasak was. She was very thorough and when she discovered that I did not have health insurance, she told me several ways to find discounts and coupons for the medication she prescribed me (which ended up saving me a ton!) read more

Subpar practice and unprofessional. Had to visit this place in two occasions for pre-employment drug screen. My first visit was last year, the wait felt like forever and there were just a few people there for drug screen. They did not check the urine temperature and their toilet bowl was just clear, no coloring. The front desk/operator was on the phone complaining about how busy it was with three people waiting for drug screen. My second visit was a couple months ago and I left feeling embarrassed, uncomfortable, and discriminated. The person who processed my sample was rude, condescending, intentionally said my name wrong in a racist manner, and made assumption/statement suggesting he believed that I used drugs. I reported the event and got an email back saying they'll look into it, but never heard of anything other than that. I will never return as a patient. read more

Great service in the beginning, but the billing department is a nightmare. They keep telling us that the bill was denied by insurance (it wasn't) they charged my husband's card an additional $150 for non payment without even sending a statement. I would recommend FastMed Urgent Care (Georgetown) to anyone. Very well run, clean, friendly facility. I was able to make an appointment on Sunday! Pre-check in was easy and seamless on the FastMed MyChart. Aaliyah checked me in promptly, MA Pedro took my vitals and ran my lab results, and after a thorough exam, PA Aaron confirmed and diagnosed my medical issue and prescribed the appropriate antibiotic. I was under a time crutch to get a prescription before my pharmacy closed, so I could start treating the bacteria right away, and thanks to this FastMed team for making what could have been very stressful....stress free! read more

So I came here with a really bad sore throat and fever on October 24th. I could not get an appointment with my regular doctor and this place is close to my house and never busy. They checked me for flu and strep and the tests came back negative so the provider told me to take airborne and cough drops and that I would have these symptoms for 7-10 days. She then went on to complain for 15 minutes about everything wrong with the medical field now and that the antibiotics they prescribe today would no longer work in 30 years. I'd also like to mention that she never told me that I should come back if my symptoms worsened or gave me any other instructions and no one ever called to check on me. As the days went on my symptoms only got worse: horribly sore throat, no voice, head ache, coughing, swollen face, chills. I spent over $70 on over the counter meds through out the week trying to get comfortable and wait this thing out like the doctor had recommended. I couldn't sleep at night due to my sore throat and incessant coughing. I was in so much pain by November 1st that I could hardly stand and had a horrible head ache that I couldn't get rid of with Tylenol or Motrin. I went back to the same doctor and had to cry and throw a fit to get her to prescribe me antibiotics and something for my sore throat, something that she should have prescribed in the first place. She had no idea what was wrong with me and she refused to prescribe me any steroids even though I was really sick saying that they are not good for me. I'd like to point out that I probably wouldn't have gotten this sick had she prescribed me antibiotics in the first place, over a week prior. She let me go 9 days with horrible symptoms and I had to pay 2 co pays because of her negligence. I called in the next day to let her know my symptoms were not any better and my headache was excruciating and unmanageable and that this was unacceptable to let someone go on feeling this horrible and she finally relented and prescribed me the steroids. She seems so afraid to write a dang prescription... isn't that what she's supposed to do? I'm all for all natural stuff and fighting off illnesses the old fashioned way but when someone has been this sick for 9-10 days, it's time to pull out the prescription pad and give them some relief. I'm very frustrated that I have had to endure this illness for so long and spend so much time and energy just trying to get the proper help and prescriptions. Now that I have had a few doses of antibiotics and 2 doses of steroids, I am finally feeling better again. My horrible headache went away after I took my 2nd dose of steroids and an old pain pill from a surgery I had a year ago. It's a shame I had to wait 10 days to feel decent...all because she didn't want to prescribe antibiotics or meds. I would not recommend this place! read more

This is a very last resort urgent care facility. Beware, caution, are bywords for this business. Nota welcoming receptionist. Return calls from patient inquiries are non-existent. Messages were sent via the FastMed portal, indicated as read with no reply. Test results were never followed up and could not be retrieved through the facility and I had to get my PCP to intervene and get them. I even contacted corporate and never had even one reply. I asked a local tv affiliate if they could do a story on this ridiculous situation to expose them and maybe bad press would force their hand. It was shortly after this that I got a reponse. One final point. They charged about 3.8 times the going rate for the service compared to local businesses offering the same service. There was an apology and explanation but I am suspect. read more

I wanted to make a quick trip to an urgent care because I knew the diagnosis would take 2 minutes. This place had some descent reviews about getting seen quickly, and the name of the place, too. I waited almost an hour in the waiting room & another 30 minutes in an actual room before seeing someone. The diagnoses, as I predicted, took literally 2 minutes. Omg i had the biggest scare of my life earlier... son ran upstairs gagging and choking and blood coming out of mouth... something was stuck is all I understood.... he couldn't talk or close mouth so we rushed to Fast Med Urgent Care... I vaguely remember the drive because I was driving like a crazy person down Bandera in 5:30 in traffic... Omg... We ran in the urgent care and im sure I was freaking out but they took him back immediately and within maybe 3 minutes removed a metal thin piece about an inch long that was lodged in his mouth at the back... Horrible but I'm glad I was home when this happened... Thank you FastMed Urgent Care for your quickness.... I was beyond scared.... Thank you to the PA AND Nurse on staff ! This is our favorite urgent care clinic. We really liked it because of the clean facility and fast services. We rarely have to wait for more than 15 mins. The staff are very nice as well. I really wanted to give them 5 stars. However, their communication about charges can sometimes be off and their billing department is hard to be reached. I got my stitches done last year and the on duty PA told me they will self dissolve after 7-10 days and if not I can come back to get them removed free of charge. However, the stitches weren't self dissolvable to begin with so I had to come back after 10 days to get them removed. The staff told me again that it's free of charge since it's part of the initial stitches service but I need to sign in anyway. So I did and they got the stitches removed quickly and I was free to go. I got a bill from them a month later for $191 for the stitches removal service and insurance wasn't going to pay for it because it was deemed non-urgent. I called their billing department many times, and each time I got forwarded to the voice mail. I left a voice mail many times but they never called me back. I even went on their website to submit a web request to get the billing issue resolved. Still no response. The went on for months and they just kept sending me the bill without giving me any channel to dispute it. Finally, I had to call the clinic, and the staff at the clinic said they have to send an email to the billing department to get them to call me back. They finally waved my bill but it was one of the worst experience dealing with billing ever. I will definitely continue to use them for urgent care but I will be more careful about charges next time. read more

I went in today at 4:34 to get a covid test as the sign states all walk in are welcome. The office hours today were from 8-5pm. I understand I arrived a little late in the day but had to work until late. I walk in and ask for help and am turned away and told that the last patient on any day is seen at 4:15 or 7:15 depending on weekday or weekend. I asked about walk in appointments and was told it doesn't matter. The provided stops seeing people 45 minutes before closing. I then asked how long would the appointment be. She said 5 minutes for intake and 15 to get results of test back. **That being said I could have been out of the clinic before 5pm and they could still close on time. THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE IN THE OFFICE. I then told the lady she needs to turn the open sign off since they will not see anyone else. I walked out at 4:47 and they locked the door behind me and turned the open sign off. Jane Cipiaro was the provider today. I even told them I have a terminally ill mother at home and am her other primary caretaker and need to know so I know what to do around my mother. I am fully vaccinated, even though that is not the point, and still potentially sick and trying to do the right thing. I have been to this clinic before and never had issues like today. I cannot understand how a HEALER OF MEDICINE can turn someone away when the sign says "WALK INS WELCOME"! Lastly, I would not be writing this if I did not have my mom to care for or my 11 year old daughter in my home. I understand being short staffed and tired but this is no way to run a business or take care of patients who are asking nicely for help. read more

Made an appointment for my husband because his Cedar Fever was getting worse. We made an appointment online due to the time of year. We were also able to fill his paperwork out online. We arrived and didn't have to wait to long. As soon as we were put in an exam room the nurse took his vitals. She left and came back in to take his oxygen level again. I think she took it three or four times to make sure she was getting a good reading. Then the Doctor came in asked my husband a few questions 1 Do you have COPD, husband "yes" 2. Do you have allergies, husband "yes" 3. Do you smoke, husband "yes". That NP Steven Hayes got in my husband's face and told him with the conditions of his lungs he should be in the hospital. My husband is 6'2" and Dr. Hayes didn't let that stop him. Thank you Dr. Hayes he's feeling better and hasn't had a cigarette since that day. This is a great Emergency Clinic, everyone is friendly but firm, everyone explains everything so you can understand. It's very clean they even took x-rays right there. My friend went to this Urgent Care and was met with rude staff. The nurse practitioner was extremely condescending and assumed she didn't know anything about urine tests. He continued to rant about "college girls" and assumed that she didn't know anything about her own sexual health. During the visit, the medical assistant had to administer an antibiotic shot in her glute. After she got home she received a text from an unknown number. It read "This is the MA that checked you in and did your injection. Wanted to make sure i didn't make you uncomfortable at all during your visit?" This is a clear violation of her patient privacy. This entire experience left a bad taste in our mouths and we will not be returning. read more

From the time I walked in until I left, everyone was so amazing! Will was the one who checked me in and he was so friendly and showed concern. I was taken back promptly and was greeted by Kenny. He was very quick to address my needs and get me setup and ready for the doctor. He checked on me and met all my needs. Now for the doctor, her name is Donna and I honestly couldn't say enough good things about her. Soo friendly, caring, attentive, nurturing and over all an amazing person. Went for an ear ache and I had impacted ear wax causing pain and pressure. Nurse practitioner on duty was excellent but Jose the tech who flushed out my ear was amazing! Jose was very patient and explained everything that was happening. His bedside manor was very professional. Woke up extremely sick today and knew I needed to go to the doctor. Due to all primary Physicians being closed on the weekends, I searched for an urgent clinic and came across this one. Not only is this facility very clean and services are provided in a timely manner, the staff is great! Kacey and Paul were very helpful and answered all questions I had to the best of their knowledge. Nancy, who was the Nurse Practitioner for the day also made sure to inform me on the cause of my sickness, what she was prescribing me and any side effects the prescriptions may have. I needed a school physical and this place was the most reasonably priced. The medical assistants were extremely friendly and helpful. They checked me in immediately, they then escorted me to the back and took my vitals and checked my eyes. It wasn't long before the nurse practitioner came in to do the physical exam. She performed the physical and check my immunization records and filled out my school paperwork. Over all had a positive experience. I would definitely recommend this place. Very bad place! Bad service!! I didn't even get seen because the nurses and front desk people were too busy talking and laughing!!

Went in with severe back pain, ended up seeing a Nurse Practitioner (no MD), had a 10 minute appointment where I asked for a shot to relieve pain but was told it would not help, left with prescriptions for muscle relaxant and pain relievers. The cost for this little visit ended up being $313...... After (2) days with no relief I was able to see my wife's MD where I was given a shot for the pain and it helped (surprise!).....And the visit with the MD cost less than the FastMed visit. My family had been to this urgent care location when it was under previous ownership and we always saw an MD and the office visits were a lot more reasonably priced. I suggest you drive right on by this place next time you need medical care - there are many other urgent care options. read more

The Dr and staff were very professional, friendly, and helpful. I received my prescriptions and the whole visit only took about 15 minutes. Check-in was fast and easy, front desk and support staff taking vitals were great, but the Nurse Practitioner that worked with us was condescending and made the experience very unpleasant. I went in for a service that they offer. The waiting room was empty, I was not robbing any other person of a valuable service, AND I was a paying customer with a legitimate concern. Nurse Hayes deemed my visit unnecessary from the first moment and my concerns were treated as trivial and non-relevant. Yes- I received the test I came in for but at an emotional price higher then the physical bill I am sure to receive. I will look into a different Urgent Care next time I am in need. read more
