We are traveling from California and my daughter came down with a lot of ear pain and our pediatrician told us to take her to urgent care. After looking at the reviews here, I was very hesitant about booking an appointment here but let's face it, there aren't very many options. I looked into booking an appointment online but it said they were fully booked. It was almost 2:30 and I was desperate to get her help and called them anyway. No one answered but I left a message about our situation. I was so excited when they called me back pretty quickly and told me I could bring her in right away! We arrived more than a half hour later as we were south of Sedona at the time and had zero wait. There was no one in the waiting room and we were seen as soon as I filled out the paperwork. The staff is so friendly here from the front office lady, nurse taking us to our exam room, and the nurse practitioner PA or doctor named Alan. He was very thorough in the examination and clearly communicated the situation and what to do. He even suggested sending the prescription to Safeway since I mentioned needing to go there too, telling me that they are very fast there and they really were! I highly recommend this clinic! read more

WORST TERRIBLE HEALTH CARE EXPERIENCE EVER IN MY LIFE. I am taking my time to write this review to let people know what to expect. DON'T GO FOR COVID TEST HERE: We went for a Covid test for international travels and we need to get the result on time (2-3 days). It's been 8 DAYS, and we still HAVE NOT got the result, and they NEVER ANSWER the phone (CHECK THIS before you go; they will never answer the phone for any after-visit care). I gave them my phone and email for the result. Likely they probably forgot - the lab result comes pretty quick these days. They would still get the money for the test. We ended up doing another urgent Covid test in another clinic. What a huge waste of money and most importantly our time... VERY LONG WAIT TIME: Although we made a reservation ahead, it took us 2 hours just to get tested for 30 sec and then wait another 20 min for a doctor to come for another minute of brief (unnecessary) chat. They don't really provide "URGENT" care. VERY POOR FACILITY; NO SAFETY: The room was extremely small, poorly ventilated, and shabby. You will get Covid if anyone with Covid has visited that clinic. The female receptionist there was not even wearing a MASK PROPERLY although there were a lot of elderly people who came for a Covid test. RUDE SERVICE: The young female receptionist was extraordinarily rude. She looked already annoyed when I wanted to ask a single question (simple easy question about the check-in process). Plus, she also gave me inconsistent answer about how I will get the Covid result. She said they don't email, but after the doctor said they do, she quickly changed her answer saying that their email server is being too slow (we live in the year 2021, right?). Clearly, she just doesn't want to do her job. Other patients in that room also seemed to notice her rudeness. Her attitude was constantly bad. The male doctor we saw that day was fine. My personal opinion: If this clinic doesn't change their receptionist, I am sure a lot of people will constantly get bad experiences from this clinic. In Sedona for the week but arrived with a severe respiratory problem. Made an appointment on-line and was able to enter all my demographic and insurance info online prior to the visit. Received EXCELLENT care and service. Eric, the PA, went above and beyond by checking in with me the next two days, modifying my prescriptions and other ways to quicken my recovery. Initially the front desk staff woman wasn't very welcoming ! Seemed a little overwhelmed but she was nice enough .I was a little annoyed when she giggled when I asked if they performed COVID tests(school related) , that was unprofessional. A receptionist pretended not to notice the client before me without a mask, talking to her inside the building. When I brought it to her attention her her general attitude was: What do you want me to do? It's a small area, filled with people, and masks are so important. I could not believe this. We brought our daughter in to be seen by the doctor. We were the 2nd people in line but someone ended up seeing the doctor last. Update: The recent visit yesterday found a fresh face at the counter and the entire place was filled with a calmer warmer caring attitude. It was as if a dark cloud was lifted. Everyone that I met walking through the door, attitude changed and seemed much happier, pleasant, interested. I later asked where the other receptionist was told "she is still here". I asked when this current receptionist is working next because I would like to come only when pleasant receptionist is working. I was pleasantly surprised when she jumped up to the calendar and said "on Friday!". I'm sorry to hear the offending condescending bitter receptionist that enjoys humiliating people is still employed by your facility. When I was first greeted, she bruskly asked to see my drivers license though she apparently knew I was a workman's comp case because she already received faxed paperwork. I told her I didn't know where it was. I just rushed to Urgent Care and left many of my things behind at work since this was a workman's comp accident and my only thought was to go get help rapidly. I explained how I drove myself and got there as quickly as possible. She was so rude in her tone and CHALLENGED me trying to BELITTLE me in her bellowing voice so the ENTIRE waiting room full of strangers could hear her loud voice: "You drove here yourself? WITHOUT A LICENSE??????" As if that was on the top of my mind as I was driving to Urgent Care in the state of pain I was feeling. My inside voice in my head wanted to say out loud: Umm lady, do you not see me in pain? Napoleon Complex much? Do you not know the name of your company, "Urgent Care"? Do you not know I'm supposed to pee within a certain amount of time into a cup and take a pee test to be sure I'm not under the influence of drugs? Y'all knew I was a workman's comp case since that paperwork came in via fax. I was in uniform with all the business logos embroidered and my name tag on my shirt, dirt on both my knees from the fall. Why can't this be sorted out later?" So no. I had to contact and bother my various bosses to make sure they didn't have my license in ANY of my bags I left at the company. I was made to hobble out to my car to dig through it IN PAIN MIND YOU in order to STAND on my aching feet, at her counter to give her the dang license. She saw me hobbling. Even my boss asked if she could vouch for me by phone. Nope. That wouldn't do. I had a copy of my drivers license photographed on my phone as well which I said I could show her. She said no. She already got the call that I was coming in and knew I was a workman's comp case. Why did she have to be such a female dog to me in front of the entire waiting room full of others while I was clearly in pain? This I do not understand. Harassing me with condescending tone of voice over and over and over again in public and it didn't stop on my initial visit. It kept occurring over the phone as stated in my original post. She is NOT an asset to your company. If anything she is a liability. 5/1/19: update... Was treated professionally, courteously and I have not seen hide nor hair of that woman again. Keep her in the back if she still works there. She isn't a people person. Zero bedside manner. Glad I didn't have to be treated like that again. Day and night difference. Kudos to Dr. Munoz and Yvonne! I appreciate that you work all night and still maintain a caring attitude. My Husband was experiencing shortness of breath at 230 AM! Dr. Munoz and Yvonne were professional and competent. After finding out that my Husband is scheduled for a triple bypass in a couple weeks, they ran all the appropriate tests for a heart attack. Thankfully my Husband did not have a heart attack and after three hours we were sent on our way with paperwork to give to the Cardiologist once we arrive back to our home in the Valley of Phoenix. read more

My family and I were in Sedona for the holidays. As luck would have it one of my kids would get sick. He was wheezing, horrible cough and just not feeling well. The Nurse practitioner swabbed him, , checked his lungs, diagnosed him and prescribed the right medication to help him feel better within a few days. Thank you soooo much to this urgent care center!! I did not receive a referral to anyone in the greater Sedona area (the referral was to someone in Phoenix.) I was seen for perhaps 7 minutes. Maybe. My 4 year old daughter was given staples July 11, 2020 at the Sedona, AZ location. I thought the experience was great until we arrived home and removed the bandage to find that out of the 4 staples only 1 was correctly placed. Now looking back on the situation I am certain they put the bandage around her head to cover their mistake. This is a traumatic experience for a young child to have to go through once, but having to go back to a different clinic hours later to have the same staples removed and correctly put in again, due to NextCare's negligence, is definitely inexcusable. This whole ordeal has also unnecessarily exposed us and put us at a higher risk of contracting COVID-19. I am a stay at home mother and my husband works from home and we have been very diligent and cautious trying to keep our family safe. COVID TEST IS NOT FREE, despite what they repeatedly told me. In Fact it cost me $110.52 out of pocket, even with a good insurance plan (Blue Cross PPO). Unlike drive-through covid tests, this is a FULL HOSPITAL VISIT with many associated fees that my insurance (and yours too I guarantee) will not completely cover. Insurance or the Government covers the cost of the Covid test itself, mandated by the Cares Act, but the facility fees, in my case something called "99203 - Offic/outpt E&m New Mod Sever", which translates to "Office visit, new patient, 30 minutes", was $190 and my contribution was $110 (so you might be charged the whole thing with a different insurance). I knew ahead of time facility fees might not be covered, so I called multiple times to NextCare and their billing office (and my insurance) to ask, but was told that my insurance would likely cover it. The actual experience: After waiting outside 15 min for my name to be called, I was sent to a hospital room and there talked to a nurse and told her my symptoms, medical history etc, then was given the covid test (could choose either rapid or PCR I think), then was made to wait another 20 min before the doctor came to check my vitals and hear more about me. The staff was very kind, but just know that this is not just stopping by for a covid test -- only go for treatment. read more

I tried calling, but no one answered the phone, so I booked an appointment online for 10/17 at 8:40 a.m., completed all paperwork and received a confirming email that the appointment was booked successfully and all paperwork was completed. Great! When I arrived at 8:30 a.m. as instructed, the inside light was on, but the door was locked and no one was visible. The website and note on the door said M-F 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., It also says to take your picture and use your smartphone to check-in! HELLO, I don't own a smartphone!! After banging on the door for 15 minutes with no response, a gentleman arrived with a smartphone, but he got no response; however, he did see on his phone that it now said closed until noon. Needless to say it was not NEXTCARE, it was NEVERCARE for me, and a note posted by their service window says that your needs will be met by a Physician Assistant today! So, do they even have a doctor? I gave them one star just to post. (By the way, a co-worker had a similar experience the previous week.) read more

I made an appointment for 12 PM and got there about 15 minutes early. There were several people waiting when I arrived. The receptionist found my appointment, and I asked about how long it would take to get in. The answer was about 2 1/2 hours. I was stunned. She said there were a lot of walk in patients, and I might be called before then. I asked what was the purpose of an appointment if it did not take place at the agreed upon time, but she did not have an answer. I went outside to a waiting area and spoke to one lady who had a 10:30 appointment who was still waiting. I went back inside and asked the receptionist to ask the nurse if she was going to be able to take me by 12:30. She returned after about 5 minutes and said the nurse was with a patient and unavailable. Noteworthy were several signs that said discourteous patients would be asked to leave. Apparently many patients were dissatisfied with this Urgent Care system of scheduling appointments and then not keeping them. I understand that doctors may have some appointments where they have to spend more time with a patient than planned and patients that follow may have to wait 20-30 minutes for their appointment. This is not the problem at Urgent Care. - the problem is bad faith in scheduling appointments knowing that they will not keep them if walk in traffic occurs. I will avoid Urgent Care in the future. read more

They refused to bill my insurance and instead charged me $170 and misdiagnosed my condition. If the provider would have applied the standard of care instead of brushing off my situation, I would leave a positive review. Also, The nurse didn't know what my medications were. As a professional, it would help if you spent a little time keeping yourself updated regularly. Given the chance, I would avoid this place like the plague. Go somewhere else. While on vacation in Sedona I had to visit the urgent care. NextCare was literally across the street from the resort I was staying at. The resort concierge highly recommened them but I was concered about the negative reviews I had seen on Yelp. I decided that the convenience of it being so close out weighed any concerns. I'm glad I ignored all the negative reviews. I recieved excellent service at NextCare Urgent Care in Sedona. Everyone was friendly and professional, from the receptionist, to the nurse, to the PAC, Ann. I had to wait about an hour to be seen but there were 5 patients ahead of me so I didn't find the wait unreasonable. During that time the receptionist contacted my Califorina insurance and accurately informed me of what portion I would have to pay. Once I got into the exam room I only had to wait about 10 minutes. The nurse even checked in with me to let me know I was next to be seen. A minute or two later Ann came in. She was friendly and thorough. She discussed my condtion and gave me an antibiotic prescription. I returned to the lobby and a minute later the nurse came out with my prescription which had already been sent to the local CVS. Two days later I received a call from NextCare to check if my condition had improved. I had a very good experience and would recomend them. read more

Ah hell.... after needing an Urgent Care, seeing the bad reviews of this place freaked me out, highly tempting me to drive to Phoenix to take my son to the hospital there.... after being here in Sedona for a mountain biking trip, when things went awry on the trail.... my son landed upside WRONG on a jump on HiLine which is a double black diamond mountain bike trail... something just wasn't right with his arm.... I said... awww screw it.. I am going to take the chance and go to this NextCare Urgent Care...even if their reviews are two stars.... I kinda had no choice, being in the middle of nowhere.... I utilized their online check in to minimize the wait time.... We drove to the office.... and to my amazement... there was no unfriendly troll spewing poison behind the check in counter... no... actually a friendly, smiling, receptionist, whom quickly filled out our paperwork and got the ball rolling to get my son seen.... Quickly a nurse took us to a room, asked some questions, gave us an ice pack, brought the Doctor in, accessed the situation, the doctor even talked to my son about the local MTB trails.... Off to get an X-Ray... and then the verdict..... A fractured arm.... so they temporarily splint casted the arm, and told us to go to orthopedics when we got home from our trip..... We were relieved that all checked out and especially relieved that this NextCare Urgent Care wasn't the horrifically described establishment that we read about on Yelp. I took my son here after he fell on a hike and his hand was swollen and after a day still didn't feel right. We didn't have an appointment, and was glad they took walk-ins. There was practically no wait (after I finished the paper work). The nurse took us in and took a little medical history and then took my son for an x ray. A few minutes after he returned a PA came by and told us he has a small fracture. Gave us instructions to keep icing it and follow up with an orthopedics when we returned to Los Angeles, since he's still growing and there was some concern about that. The nurse came back in a little later and put his arm in a splint. They gave us copies of the office visit summary which included a tiny picture of his x-rays. I made an appointment with an orthopedics doctor (after we returned) and they said they would like to get a copy of the x ray on disc. So the next day I went back and the office made me a copy of the disc and also emailed me all their medical records. We only had to pay our copay and would be billed for the splint etc after the insurance (Anthem Blue Cross) settles the treatment. read more

This place is a scam. I took my son there for an injury to his hand and as the dr was caring for it we asked if there was also anything he could do for a cyst my son had on his face. The dr said no and suggested we go see a dermatologist. Upon checking out to pay for the hand injury, this place tagged on a $120 dollar extra charge for "asking the dr about the face cyst".
