I got her attention to let her know he was with me, and she did this little point to the spot in front of her like I was some kind of dog! I am never going to go to their little clinic again! After they left I was in excruciating pain. I called the nurse crying to ask if I could have more pain meds. She said I could have 5 hours before. When I asked why hadn't gotten it, she said I had to asked for it. This was my 6th spine surgery and have never had to ask for pain meds. It was brought to me and asked if I wanted it. She suggested I set a timer on my phone because she had so many patients to look after, she couldn't keep track of all of their meds. I talked to the night nurse about getting pain meds and said I wanted to be woke up for pain meds. He did not and ended up going 9 hours without pain meds. After that I set a timer day and for meds but never did get a handle on my pain after that. I always had to have help to use the restroom. I always took a very long time for someone to come. One night I rang 3 times and waited almost an hour for help. One night the aide helped me to the toilet, sat me down and was told to pull the string when I was done and he left. I pulled the string and it took him quite awhile to come back and help me back to bed. It just seemed like I was a nuisance to the nurses when they had to care for me. If given a choice, I will never return there and would advise anyone to choose somewhere else to be treated!

I showed up 5 minutes prior to my appointment time just as the email suggested and I promptly asked for a mask due to my symptoms. The nurse/front desk lady was friendly. Being the only person there, I was not taken back to a room until 1:15. She took my vitals and left. She came back 20 minutes later saying the doctor needs a COVID test and a flu test, even though, "we know it's not those." She also proceeded to let me swab myself without even watching me. Yes, I appreciated her not swabbing my brains (if you know what I mean), but it was not at all professional. Then she put the test on the counter covered it up with a paper towel. The doctor did not proceed to enter the room until 1:41. Remembering that my appointment was at 1:00 and I was the ONLY one in there. He asked me my symptoms which took 7-8 minutes. THEN he got out his phone and started GOOGLING my symptoms and possible treatments, right in front of me. He then said I was COVID and Influenza negative and I "have a virus that went crazy." I asked if he would prescribe me an antivirus. He then had to GOOGLE again... "it says 7 days, but yours is bad so lets do 10 days." When I told him that I needed it sent to a different Dillons pharmacy, he told me to Google the address. Just letting you know this place is unprofessional and a joke! Stay away! Drive to another location, not all Little Clinics are created equal!

Surg., where unit-specific questions were sometimes met with responses such as, "I don't know - I'm a travel nurse." A similar pattern was observed at the same time on another unit while visiting a family friend. Two years later, during my brother-in-law's admission in 2025 on the epilepsy unit, the same staffing pattern was evident. Across these separate admissions, care was competent and professional, yet consistently felt impersonal and temporary, suggesting a systemic dependence on short-term staffing rather than a deeply anchored care culture. Travel nursing is understandably an attractive option, and those nurses' contributions are appreciated. However, the persistence of this model across years and units raises a fundamental question for hospital leadership: what concrete steps are being taken to build and retain a stable, permanent nursing workforce? As an RN, I have worked in ICUs where nurse retention is the standard, not the exception, which makes this pattern difficult to overlook. It was also concerning to observe that the charge nurse appeared to be the most tenured member of the unit. This dynamic places disproportionate responsibility on a single individual and has implications not only for patient experience and continuity of care, but also for the sustainability of the unit and the well-being of both the charge nurse and bedside staff.
