I visited Beachwood Family Health & Surgery Center (Cleveland Clinic) on Saturday. Yes, some doctors have Saturday appointments at this location. I frequent the location for my bloodwork, quick Urgent Care visits, and primary care visit. This time, I was very impressed with my experience (not always the case). From the moment I arrived, the facility's welcoming atmosphere and efficient operations stood out. The parking lot offers various options including self-park, parking garage, and valet. Typically, this place doesn't get busy, so it's easy to park. The lobby has check-in kiosks and helpful greeters to navigate you. They're always eager to help if you address them. The lobby also has a lot of greenery which really adds to your experience even if you're sick. The campus is pretty small and easy to navigate. There's helpful signage to indicate parts of the building. It's a much better navigation experience than any other Cleveland Clinic experience. Think of it as a suburban campus that's easily located on Cedar Rd. The center offers a wide range of services, including primary care, specialty services, and an Express Care Clinic for urgent needs. The convenience of having on-site amenities like radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy services, and bloodwork is unmatched. With a positive review this time, I'll say that I would highly not recommend visiting their OBGYN department here. I had a very negative experience which made me switch campuses to better care. Overall, my visit to the Beachwood Family Health & Surgery Center was a positive experience. The combination of comprehensive services, dedicated staff, and a patient-focused approach makes it a standout healthcare facility in the area.

I have lowered expectations for urgent care type clinics. I tend to only go to these types of…read moreplaces on weekends or holidays or as a last resort. I expect to wait a long time for routine services but I understand that's part of the process. But the wait time here is ridiculous. Since I can practically walk to this location, I thought I'd pop in on a Sunday morning to get meds for a sinus infection. I wasn't surprised to see a full waiting room but I was surprised to see that there was one person working - handling treatment and billing. Talk about an efficiency FAIL! I spent 2 hours waiting to be seen. I should have listened to my gut and left after a half hour but I figured that I wouldn't be waiting much more than an hour. In an urgent care type place, I can deal with an hour wait. Once I was finally seen, the nurse practitioner diagnosed me before even looking at me. While she was handling my paperwork, she asked me to describe my symptoms and immediately told me what she thought was wrong and what I should do. Which was basically nothing. She said that I'd need to be sick for at least 7 days before she'd consider giving me antibiotics. When I protested (because I know my body and only go to the doc when I'm dying) she wrote me out a prescription but told me to hold on to it for a week. Um. Ok, lady. I don't like to tell anyone how to do their job, but I felt like it was inappropriate for this woman to basically brush me off after waiting for 2 hours. This was just an overall awful, awkward experience at this not so Fast Clinic. It's an embarrassment for this facility to be associated with UH. I would never go back and I would encourage you to go elsewhere. I'll stick to a real urgent care center the next time I'm sick on a weekend, I guess.

Even if she was trying to make a joke that was insensitive and very inappropriate. This was a very uncomfortable, not helpful visit.

I visited University Hospital, Mayfield Heights location on Friday, 4 March 2022 to see a shoulder…read moredoctor specialist. I arrived at 4:10pm. BACKGROUND (the past) -- In February 2022, I noticed one evening that my right arm would not move up or to the side without me using my left hand to help. I couldn't shower properly because my right hand is my dominant hand. I basically couldn't lift things well without struggling. As a young person who isn't even 40 years old, this was strange. I hadn't exercised recently or lifted heavy weights so this random right shoulder pain and right arm immobility was weird. I went to Lakewood (Ohio) Urgent Care about 3 days later and spoke to a doctor who hoped that I didn't have a Rotator Cuff tear. A radiologist at Urgent Care took an X-Ray (3 images) that showed that nothing was wrong. The Urgent Care doctor then recommended that I see a shoulder specialist; thus, I arrived at University Hospital. I had to get a new health insurance plan so it was almost a month before I saw a specialist. Now, the present day... STAFF -- The front desk staff were friendly and organized. They gave me paperwork to complete and they took a copy of a CD that I was asked to bring. The CD had a copy of my X-Rays from when I went to Lakewood Urgent Care. UH DOCTOR Michael Karns -- Nice doctor and friendly. My only slight compliant is that I barely spent 5 minutes with the doctor. I spoke more with his assistants and the doctor only spoke with me for about 3 minutes; however, my right arm and shoulder symptoms were gone by the time I arrived at the hospital. The doctor explained to me that the reason for my arm discomfort was maybe inflammation and I didn't need an MRI. He said that my X-Ray results, which I got done in February at Lakewood Urgent Care, were great. I had no bone issues. I told the doctor that the Urgent Care doctor said that an MRI will show whether I have a tissue or muscle tear but Doctor Karns suggested that it will be a waste of time if I got an MRI. I listened to his advice considering that I can now move my arm again. Dr. Karns wanted to subscribe me some inflammation medicine but since I didn't have any arm immobility issues anymore, I declined the medicine. He gave me some physical therapy exercises to do instead. Overall, if I ever need to see a shoulder specialist again, I'll be back but I wish the doctor spent more time accessing my situation. **** - 6/150 total reviews in 2022 - 484 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 5 March 2022

I would NEVER suggest an appointment with Dr.Ozar... he was very rude, judgmental, and…read moredisrespectful and I never plan on stepping foot in another University Hospital because I can't believe this was one of their doctors. NEVER AGAIN! People have no idea what's going on in other people's lives to judge others and just because he's an elder does NOT give him the right. To be told: "what happened to your weight?" And then give me a stank face while looking at me up and down is INSANELY RUDE! I also had forms for work that I needed filled and the first thing he said when I mentioned it was "three pages? Are you kidding me? If they would've told me that then........." The way he made obvious statements like "you're 24 and you weigh that much? That's not normal and not ok." There are so many other ways you can say this to someone OR maybe just DONT state the obvious as if I don't know how unhealthy it is. Absurd. -"they're going to fire you, why are you even working there if it doesn't seem like you can keep up?" -"there's medication for weight loss but I know you can't afford it." And I wanted to say.. "who the f--- do you think you are?" But I kept my composure because I wanted to leave ASAP. This was the WORST experience I've ever had at a doctor's office, matter of fact, I've gone to worse neighborhoods and have been treated with more kindness and respect there than at this place and at least they had manners and common decency. You couldn't even pay me to choose University Hospital. Never in my life will I ever make the mistake of coming here.
