This was super fun but more pricey than we had prepared for. The food was actually better than expected and the menu is decent. The chairs were so comfortable. With only 16 chairs in each theater, it was also nice to not feel crowded. The footrest was a must for me being a short person. Without the footrest my feet dangled and didn't hit the floor. The chairs also felt clean. You should buy tickets ahead of time since the theaters are so small. Don't wait on tickets til you get there. Parking was really full but we managed to get a space as someone was leaving. Check-in was easy and the workers were nice. Tickets were about $20 each after tax. So let's get to the food. There are no prices on the website for food, so know it's high. Some entrees were around $16-18. I got a shrimp poboy for $22 that came with a decent sized side. There were quite a few shrimp on the poboy and I enjoyed it. The cookie a la mode was a bit overcooked, but still good. Also liked the shrimp and grits ok. Not the best I've had but not the worst. (I'm looking at you, Dauphins) Honestly the best part is ordering from the iPad and have a nice server bring it to your chair without missing the movie. Total for 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 sodas, and one dessert was around $160. I'd rather Noja for that! If we came back, it would have to be for a special movie. We'd definitely eat somewhere else first to save money. But I like to try places at least once, and if you have the cash, this is the lux way to watch a movie in Mobile. read more

Great movie experience with waiters bringing food and drinks to the big recliner chairs. But the grease being used to prepare food is basically rancid. I didn't know you could make fried food taste like shoe leather but the grease there can do it. Get some new grease, folks. read more

First time in this theater after receiving tickets Mission Impossible from a friend. The recliner seats are comfortable and there's enough room between you and your neighbor. The food was OK more like typical bar food. The beer is cold but at $6.00 a pop it better be. Service was good. Now let's talk about the movie Mission Impossible. Tom Cruise usually puts out some great action flicks but this one was drawn out and predictable. We left before the end of it. I hope you have better luck than me. read more

There's not one bad seat in the building! From the barstools to the plush theatre seats, you're good here. Nexus has a great thing going! Aside from the movie-going experience and the stellar surround sound situation, the dining options are great also. I've tried the Asian salad, burger, and hand cut fries. All were pretty great. They also make a mean Bushwacker and Mudslide at the bar! You place your orders and call for service via iPad, and their system is pretty seamless. Yes, it's pricey, but I do believe it's appropriate considering the prices of a standard movie (w/ concessions) experience these days. Nexus Cinema is a much need addition to the entertainment sector of Mobile. I've lived in other places that had cinema dining years ago. Glad that we have one now. Pros: The friendly staff are a huge plus at Nexus. The guy at the ticket was very warm and welcoming. The bar area was neat and clean. A great place to have a drink after work or before a movie. The movie theater seats were plush, comfortable and clean (no smelly feet smells). Lastly, the food was good. Everything we ordered was very tasty. Cons: The food portion sizes were really small. It was ok for me but my guy was hungry after we left the movie. The costs at Nexus are pretty pricey as well. We spent about the exact amount of a night at Ruth's Chris after buying tickets, dinner & drinks. Lastly, NO military discounts. I love places that show the Vets some love. Overall I was very pleased and we will return but we probably will grab dinner before. read more

The chairs are extremely comfortable since you can recline and prop you feet up as you watch your movie. Wish the reclining seats went back just a little more, was like sitting in. Recliner that couldn't lean all the way back. The delivery system of ordering everything you need from your seat is perfect! Easy day out for us. Price wasn't too bad. Spent about $25-30 each for food & sodas (no alcohol) plus $18 each for the movie. Was very convenient to have it all in one place. Movie screen was in perfect shape and sound system was great. Great place to watch a movie and have dinner at the same time. However, be careful if you are seeing a movie in Theater 3. There are steep steps leading into the theater and NO HANDRAILS! Last night my friend and I went to see a movie there and she fell leaving the theater. Luckily, she was not seriously hurt but she easily could have been. This is definitely negligence on the part of management and leaves Nexus open to litigation as well as leaving their patrons open to injury. read more

Been coming to this place exclusively for about 8 months now. I really enjoy being able to drink while watching a movie in a fancy chair. They advertise having tHe best theater sound in the industry and I would agree. The food selection is slowly changing. I still misss the brisket. Wine selection is nothing compared to Pour Baby. So I hope they get a larger selection with more high end wine choices. Movie selections are limited due to having only 3 screens but they catch most of what I want to see I come about weekly now. Oh. July 2021 Went to go see Jungle Cruise w the family. While watching, the movie projector broke twice. The first time, we patiently waited for about 10 minutes for the staff to fix the problem. The movie restarted at a point several minutes before where we had left off. The second time, we patiently waited a bit longer. Again, we began again at a point earlier than where we left off. Due to the technical difficulties and re-watching portions already seen, a considerable amount of time was added to the overall experience. Indeed, one exiting couple mentioned having to amend/cancel their dinner plans. When the movie was over, a manager of some kind entered the auditorium and began blustering on about how "the power bill for running the projector is expensive" and how "maybe a lizard got up in there or something." What I found most noteworthy about the encounter was his unapologetic nature. He did not address the exiting patrons about how the projector issues effected their experience. He did not address how the time-cost had potentially affected patrons' plans for the rest of the evening. He did not address anything other than making sure the projector became operational again - likely so he could make money from the next movie showing. I sincerely hope there was nothing seriously wrong and the repairs were swift and lasting. Objectively speaking: The technical malfunctions made this an undesirable experience. I'll likely go back to afford Nexus the opportunity to prove this was not a fluke occurrence. Subjectively speaking: I don't see any appeal that is different from any other theater. read more

Oh wow what a hidden gem!! Decided to check out Whitney Houston's new movie for 7 o'clock viewing on the first Friday it was out, decided to try the nexus dining cinema! The experience was top-tier. I would never go to a regular movie again I feel pampered and as close to home as I could, the ceiling was comfortable although it was quite chilly in the theater. The food was hot fresh and delicious. The menu offered a variety of foods, beverages, snacks, and alcoholic choices. My husband order the shrimp poboy fries. I ordered the bang, bang shrimp, a side salad, and a Keylime pie. Everything was quite delicious hot and fresh and quick. I will return soon it was a bit on the pricey side but I'll pay for the convenience. I like the fact of the one spot for a date movie dinner and dessert all in one place ideal for the older couples, the theater with intimate, small clean the chairs were comfortable almost to put you to sleep lol if you're not careful but the movie was good we were right up front, but we was not looking up at the screen. Very nice intimate theater. Decent menu although the pulled pork was so salty it gave me a headache. Comfortable seats. Nice and efficient waiters. They ask for ID to see if you're 21 when you get your tickets (I prepaid through fandango) but they do not serve alcohol...and there were kids (accompanied by an adult) in the theater so I don't understand why they are carding people. Overall great experience. Edit: after reading the other review, apparently there is a real bar hidden upstairs. So alcohol can be purchased just not from your seat in the theater. read more

Love it!! You sit in recliners and you have a tablet at your chair and you order through it and a server brings your food or drinks and keeps an eye on you throughout movie. No one is bothered by them walking around and waiting on us. Food was very good and inexpensive. The drinks are reasonably priced. So I went to see Infinity War with a friend and we decided to go here as we had never been and heard good things. I'll keep it simple. The good: -great facility -recliners are comfortable -sound and picture quality is fantastic -movie experience is A+ The bad: -every piece of advertising for this place I had come in contact with before going stated that popcorn was free. It's not -you have to pay about $4 for a "large" popcorn and It's actually smaller than AMC's small size popcorn -refills on drinks are not offered and if you want more, you have to buy another -their food is way too small of a portion for the price they are charging Overall, it's not bad, but it's not good either. Unless you just really want to experience the novelty of ordering overpriced food on an iPad in your theater, just go see a movie at a regular theater. read more

I will never watch a movie in another theater than this one again. If only I could give Nexus 6 stars because 5 is simply not enough. The prices are incredible, the same as you would spend at a regular theater and you get so much bang for your buck. Such a small, accommodating, intimate movie experience from the parking lot throughout. This is our second visit. We literally will go watch a movie we don't even care to see just to have a date night here. I order the crab cakes and Gouda grits. They are the absolute best crab cakes I've ever had. The food is reasonably priced, you never wait long at all for your order. The sound is impeccable in the theater and there isn't a bad seat in the house. We can watch movies for free at home but Nexus makes us want to get out again simply for the experience. I love love love this place. read more

Nexus is an experience that Mobile needed! The food was good and it's just fun to order off of an iPad. Pretty much all their food options don't make sounds when you chew. The best part of Nexus is having drinks delivered to you during the movie. It's a game changer for the movie experience. After watching a movie at nexus, it's hard to go back to normal movie theater. Decided to go on a date and take hubby out! Wanted to do something different so I heard about this movie theater called Nexus! I looked them up online and purchased tickets. First, ordering online was very easy, you get to pick your seats ahead of time so you already know where you should be seated. You have your choice of recliners or table tops. Once you get in you go to the ticket counter, show them your ID (because you get to eat and drink here they must know that your old enough to partake in the ordering), once then you live on to the movie floor of which ever studio you booked (there is only two). From there you find your seats or an assistant helps you find your seats. Once seated after the start time, a short ten minute segment comes on screen showing you how to order food and drinks and what kind of sound experience you will be having. After then the movie starts. Let me TELL YA!!! This was the BEST MOVIE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! We sat and when the movie started we ordered drinks first, they came immediately from our own personal server (they have many servers to make you feel like you have your very own waitress), we ordered food( appetizers and an entree...... bbq sliders and then Filet Mignon tips with sides) , then we ordered desert! When I tell you, WE ENJOYED ourselves to the fullest! It was for hubbys birthday and he said he had an amazing experience! By the time we left there we were so full, sleepy and yeh a little tipsy too cause the drinks are not meant for the weak! Lol,.... So if your looking for a different date night experience, a night to get out of the house with kids (I suggest feeding kids first cause it could get pricey with multiple kids) or just need to see a good movie this is the place to go. Price wise it was reasonable for us... the tickets were $16.50 and our food ( appetizers, entrees, desert and 2 alcohol drinks and 2 regular teas) our ticket was $80. And IT WAS WORTH IT!!!! Of course you can have a smaller ticket but it was hubby birthday so I splurged and let him try everything. Two weeks after that we went again and the ticket was only $26 for both of us with two alcohol drinks an appetizer and popcorn, so the ticket is what you make it. The customer service is non existent. Can't reach anybody, can't call them, and they don't update their website often so you end up getting screwed. The hours of operation is confusing and they don't open until right before the movie starts. And no refunds. It's a great theater but wow their customer service really lacks and caused me grief when I'm trying to plan out a movie but their website isnt kept up to date so wasted a ticket and lost $20. We went to Nexus to watch Napoleon, which is close to a 3 hour film. We were hoping it would be more comfortable for such a long movie, but my husband has back issues and the chair really made him uncomfortable and actually in pain. Yes, you can lean back in them and that's nice, but there isn't support otherwise as it's a cheaper chair. The projector is smaller too and the sound was not as nice. We ordered two drinks (one small), a small popcorn, and a slice of cake and it was $50. Food is always expensive at theaters but it is extra so here because of the service fee and then you need to tip. Drinks weren't that great and the cake was ok. I saw what other members of my family ordered and it didn't look great either. My husband & I both agreed we probably wouldn't care to come back. The concept is good but the main drawback was just how expensive it was, I don't need to pay $100 for sub-par food while I'm watching a movie. All of the employees were nice though. read more

I wouldn't even give it a star if I could. Absolutely terrible customer service. I tried calling for 45 minutes and when I finally gave up I left a voice mail and they called me back 2 minutes later and told me to never visit their establishment again and that I was unwelcome because of a supposed "prank call." So customer service is nothing but a joke to them. The website is terrible and doesn't give enough information to where you have to call and they never pick up anyways. A state of the arts facility, you can enjoy just the dining experience or dining while watching the latest movie! Food ordering is made simple because each and every seat has an iPad for you to select your meal, drinks and unlimited free popcorn! You can call your server or even pay your bill via the iPad! Downstairs there is a dining area and bar. The theaters are also downstairs. Upstairs is a sports bar and lounge! The food and service are both fantastic!
